I have it! and I love it. just hope more people talk about it here on GAF :/
I should have said welcome to the android fold! If you are thinking of ditching your iPad be mindful that the android tablet app store isn't as plentiful as iOS... YET. It is getting closer all the time and there are other android tablet features which I love like profiles but stil,/ something you might want to consider.

yea. that's a concern for now. especially when it comes to wordprocessors... and maybe Tweetbot T_T

hmm. I'm really liking the Android experience thus far (tweaking the device just the way I want it)

but I guess that's me not liking iOS 7 at all :/

How come there's no love for the Note 3 on GAF?

It's such a nice phone. :(

Pricey.

And also impending Nexus 5.

I like the phone though, it's good to see samsung getting away from shiny plastic backs. I hope they continue this design evolution with the GS5.

I played with my coworkers. It felt exactly my Note 1 in my hands. To be honest with you in normal distant I can't see the higher resolution either. The fake leather actually didn't feel that bad. Its like leatherette from cheap cars.

He upgraded from a Note 1, I think I will upgrade to a LG OpG Pro. My flirting with Xperia Z didn't work out. I just couldn't deal with phone with non removable battery.

You know, Google's reversals on open source and net neutrality are really starting to wear on my patience. They're becoming just as big of a piece of shit company as all the others.

Don't be evil my ass.

You shouldn't trust any company. Not even Google. Wouldn't be surprised if they become just like Microsoft in 10 years.

Went to Target just now. The old KitKat box from last week is now empty. Still waiting on seeing the one's for the contest. Must be clearing out inventory first.

They're a really shitty company. I'd move over to all Apple but not until iOS works well. IOS is still so disjointed and sandboxed.

When are for-profit companies ever wholly and legitimately not shitty?

Yeah yeah, I got it. You're not enlightening me. Companies are shitty as a whole. One is a lot less shittier than the other, though.

I doubt Apple will ever be good as a services company. Just like Goog will never match Apple in hardware design. So good luck with that.

what reversals?

Have you looked at their policies that they suddenly support after they opposed them because of Fiber? Have you seem Google ("Niantic") issuing cease and desist orders to people making Ingress clients because their support for devices is shitty and broken? Banning accounts for using those clients even though they don't give any advantage? Cease and desist and banning accounts using the iOS client because they're taking forever to release an official one? All of these are open source stuff.

And no, I didn't get banned. I use the official client on the S4. I just think it's really shitty of them.

Meh. I like their products and services. Also their stuff is cheap, there are a lot worse companies than Google. If going to apple is your solution well...OK.

Oh, hell no. Fuck apple.

I just am somewhat disappointed with Google.

And yes, Faceless. Nothing. Google is immune to criticism.

criticism is fine, and the stuff that you named may be bad, but you complained about specific things then named things that weren't the things you complained about when asked for details.

Er. I'm on mobile. I'm not going to pull links for the Fiber thing. we just had a topic with links to them last night. Now they're suddenly not so friendly to net neutrality when they have their own money in play.

Going after clients based around an open source thing is also a reversal on their friendliness towards open source software, no?

so you can't remember any details on this?

And I thought it was. If it isn't, my point still stands. It's ridiculous to do what they are with the clients.
It's standard procedure to prohibit people running corporate servers on residential ISPs. That having been said, the whole point of Fiber is to allow people to start businesses and bring in new tech innovation.

Since then, however, Google became one of the only ISPs (the only one?) to explicitly ALLOW people running servers on their network:

Ah. Of course this didn't get posted in the topic last night

Thanks.

@PaulOBrien Do you think it's possibile #Nexus5 will land within the next week without even having an official presentation from @google?

do people actually prefer those touchscreen buttons that takes up the screen estate?

I was hoping they create capacitative buttons that are outside the screen estate

No because you can not press it blind. With physical button you can press it blind.

I like it. No physical/capacitive buttons makes the hardware look better; with the screen off it's just a sleek, black slab.

Why not just ask for a smaller bezel instead? That way you actually get more usable screen space in certain apps.

No you don't, you always have the etching where the light comes through. That's not a big deal for me, I'd like less bezel but no one has done it properly yet

Samsung used to do it right with the US versions of their phones.

but then they got popular enough to make the US models the same 'big button' style as international.

i gotta admit that i do like pressing the physical home button to power on the phone though!
