if you are getting a ipad to play games of any sort, its like picking a discounted pc with shitty specs but 2 tb hd, vs a top of the line pc with a 500gb hd for games.

I just hate how they added $100 to the price. After taxes the 16 gig retina mini is damn near $500 and it's just not worth that to me. :( guess I'll wait for it to come out refurb.

Hehe I'm the same but I'm not trying to hype myself up it very well might be a massive disappointment - it will be slagged big time for what it's not than what it is. Still Im probably buying it the first day it comes out (unless it's ridiculously priced)...

The rumor has it that it might be coming out on 7th November

Shadow Vamp is currently free. I'm a bit torn on this game. The game's well done and a really cool concept...but the controls seem a bit iffy. Maybe I still need to get used to them, but if I had to do any precision movement/rotating it could become an issue. Still, seems pretty cool overall.

Okay I know this is not about the games but I feel it's a good place to ask for this:

My 64 gb iPod 4g is getting annoying (so sluggish) but i really have no money to replace it with new 5th generation - recently I fell in love with new music app on iOS7 and while it's not perfect (where's music queuing?!) it makes browsing so much better. Now, seeing how ios7 hiccups on iPhone 4 even thinking of some jailbroken ios7 version for 4g would be silly - so is there a good music playing app that offers nice music browsing (I particularly love the emphasis on album covers, like in the new horizontal music browsing on ios7), and hopefully supports sound wave and last fm scrobbles? Queuing would be swell too! :3

I tried skimming through this thread, but it is quite large. Anyone play the game The Room? Absolutely loved it. A little bit short but it is so polished and fun. I would love to play other similar games if there are any recommendations!

Yup everyone loves it here. The closest game I can think of is Help Volty, though it is kinda different.

The Room 2 should be coming out in a few months.

Hold off man, you'd be wasting money. I love my first gen mini, but the leap in specs to the mini 2 is quite big and lets not kid ourselves here they are both expensive purchases and you want as much mileage as possible. Definitely wait and get the mini 2, I'm sure the mini will get support for another year for sure but will it really give you the performance you want. Mini 2 is 2 generations ahead soc wise and has a vastly superior screen and perhaps most importantly, it will have more ram.

Is anyone else not able to play Phoenix Wright or Ghost Trick on 7 still? Always crashes on launch for me.

Heh. It's actually surprisingly easy to get to a rank where you get at least something nice for the effort. The ISO-8 event is really nice for grinding rewards, a lot of stupid mooks that can't even damage the team if you get a good start (and if you don't, there's always the quit & restart cheese).

It has been a good day for Yelena. +15 levels so far.

Wait - you can quit and restart an Arena/PvP match?

I am terribly ashamed to admit I spent $5 on the game yesterday. I wanted more slots.

That's the one thing I know I'll end up spending money on. I just can't not keep characs. :D

But I'm fine with it. This game is amazing.

EDIT: For Arena stuff, you have three chances but THE DAMAGE CARRIES OVER. :0

So you could concievably never lose as long as you're halfway dece.

Your reward points lowers each time, but still.

BUT STILL.

How does the game choose who is taking "point" in a given battle? I keep ending up with my weakest characters sponging all of the damage by default.

Okay guys, I decided to pick this up. The controls are tight and responsive, the art style is nice, and I've only played a few levels but can already see the potential for some challenging levels once the tutorial/beginner levels are done. Definitely worth $0.99, there are at least 60 levels across five worlds, plus a level editor and community levels to play. I'm having a lot of fun

Whatever match you make, if their icon is on the gem, they will take the abuse for any counterattack.

I haven't double checked it, but I think the icon is determined by who delivers the most damage for that color.

So, if you have a Black Widow that hits for 12 per Purple tile and your other teammates hit for less than that, Widow will be the icon representative of the purple gems.

I believe that is the case. Also it should be mentioned that if you make a series of combinations, the character who will take the opposing attack will the first match you made, not the last.

Tiny Death Star is addicting. But it runs sooo badly at the moment, stutters like mad every 3 seconds for me, having 40 floors.. Overdue for an update!! :)
Protip: the Imperial basement levels are a complete waste of time, while they offer 'missions' which offer rewards, they don't bring in any money and they rack up the level construction prices. Best saved until the end IMO.

For the regular Brazilian Gaffers (me and heringer) in this thread, this is great news. The local Br Store wasn't getting some games (e.g. the GTAs, Deus Ex: The Fall, Bloodmasque and others) because even though they were 17+ (mature) they were classified as 18+ by our government, and Apple doesn't allow "adult-only" apps on iTunes. With this change, those apps will be classified properly under the IARC and will be allowed to appear in the local store.

Today Apple has taken a step in addressing this problem by giving developers the ability to directly view and manage the top 100 Game Center leaderboards in their game. Previously if there was hacked scores or some other problem with a leaderboard, the developer would have to actually contact Apple and have them fix it. Now developers themselves can delete fake scores or block certain players where appropriate.

I've always ignored global leaderboards because of that and I wondered how the ridiculous cheating scores happened. Hopefully this helps make some improvements.
