Man, if the PS4 wasn't coming out I'd be buying a 3DS before 2014 for sure.
so you'd rather buy a console with nothing of particular substance to play on it for at least three months versus a handheld with an almost-overbearing catalog of must-play games?

just kidding, more power to you. i'm getting a PS4 as well. but do get a 3DS asap =)

I want to be hyped, but the last time I got hyped before Zelda release, my heart was later broken into piece.

But maybe this time, things will be different? Maybe, just maybe... Please, ALTTP2, be a fantastic Zelda game, with great pacing and no handholing, please.

Fuck it, I'm hyped as fuck.

I don't know...GTA: Chinatown Wars on the DS was pretty spectacular.

I picked up GTA: Chinatown wars recently because I heard good things. Too bad I couldnt' find a good thing in the game. Super bad gameplay foundation with janky feedbac, lock on, camera, controls. You can't build a spectacular game on that junk.

I disagree. Best GTA game imo.

Well the game has been confirmed to have very little handholding, great pacing with no slow intro (though I actually kind of like those..) etc. I'm very hyped as well.

Just wanted to pop in and echo some of the sentiments outlined in the review. It's old-school Zelda in every sense of the term.

It's the polar opposite of Skyward Sword in that there's almost no hand-holding. After the first dungeon, you're free to literally go anywhere (in Hyrule, Lorule comes a little later) and do anything you're able.

Similarly, once Lorule becomes available, you're given rough approximations of all the places you need to do what needs to be done, but you're 100% free to go wherever you want and complete those objectives however and in whatever order you wish. No restrictions on that that I've encountered so far. It's one of the most non-linear Zeldas ever, if not the most non-linear.

Any fears that this game holds your hand or walks you through it should be put to rest right now.

I'm trying to see if the issue is up for me on my lowly PC (don't have a tablet).

edit: Yup it is, reading now.

Be a cool guy like me and get one sometime around black friday!
yup...that's exactly what I'm doing..

MH4, Pokemon, FIre Emblem, Kid Icarus, and now Zelda...woot!!

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Just hit the 100 hour mark in Pokemon X. Before that I was absorbed in MonHun 4. Before that I was playing Bravely Default.

Now this. WILL I EVER PUT MY 3DS DOWN?!

I want to play something on my TV at some point, please!

Ok Nintendo...I plan on getting a Wii U this holiday due to Super Mario 3D World...now you're going to make me get a 3DS? I guess I'll look for a 3DS deal as well. Nintendo is just doing everything right lately.

Has the battery life been improved with 3DS in the XL? How is the battery life compared to the Vita?

Yes. The XL's battery life is better than that of the OG 3DS's, as well as the Vita's.

Of course, you'll get more or less mileage out of it depending on screen brightness/3D use.

Battery has improved over og 3ds. Not sure about vita.

The all black 3ds xl will be $150 during BF. Or theres the luigi mansion bundle, with the blue 3ds xl, for $150.

Is there a certain order to go from easiest to hardest that you can find by discovering? Or are they all kind of the same difficulty and so it doesn't really matter?

You can't just come in here and drop that kind of hype bomb when it's still 10 days out :(
