From what I've heard, RE Revelations is a much stronger survival horror game than 6. But I guess it depends on your preferences...can anyone else attest to this?

Yeah, I played through Revelations on the 3ds when it came out, but now that you mention it, I hope that goes on sale too! I wouldn't mind updated visuals!

Oh cool, a new thread! Hopefully today I'll have time to continue Deadly Premonition, my current GOTY and start co-opping Rayman Legends with my gf

Can't wait for TWDS2. Any news on The Wolf Among Us EP2?

Fellow SteamGaffers, help me out.

Should I buy tomorrow this or save the money for the Autumn / Christmas steam sales?

If you have a 3DS XL already, I would wait. That will not disappear any time soon. If this is your first, by all means, get it asap as the Black Friday discounts make it a great deal.

Yes.

And if you register the game and the 3DS after the 27th of November to Jan 13 you get free Super Mario 3D Land. Also that bundle is sold out everywhere in Aus, since its EB exclusive.

Will be my first 3DS, but we don't have black friday here :(

I know that offer, that's why I'm doubting, usually I would pass it, but the console with Zelda + Mario 3D Land seems a nice deal.

AUS? Damn, I'm not USA too. We don't get Black Fridays in the middle east too.

EU, sometimes Mediamarkt does a black friday but the date is random, also it's specific items they discount, I doubt a just released console limited edition would go on sale.

Doesn't hurt to ask the sales clerk if you can do a deal. Tell him/her to do 50% on Pokemon or something if you buy it.

I could try, but they don't usually haggle here.

AOEIII has cards now? Time to start reinstalling!

That game is a blast in multiplayer, and even though AOE2 is the best in the series, AOEIII's MP is unbeatable

Relative size doesn't mean a lot though. Maybe Skyrim is different in terms of content (I doubt it) but a massive empty map will take up about as much space as a tiny one. It is all just the same textures and models.

In my experience skyrim isn't any more filled than a typical MMO. The stuff that is detailed is all instanced, which MMO's have as well.

It really depends on how much you see yourself playing the 3DS. If you travel often, or you think you'll spend a lot of time playing a handheld at home, then it's a good investment. If you're going to be doing most of your gaming on the PC, forget the 3DS and put that money toward the Steam sale instead - it'll get you a lot more games.

So I have a question....I have quite a few purchases on GFWL marketplace.
Before you shun me it was when they were actually trying at sales. Regardless I grabbed AOEIII for 10 cents, Deus Ex for like 50 or something, and Stalker at a similar price.

Now with the service going defunct what is the chance I could convince customer support of getting steam keys for these games? I figure it would be a better idea to contact the publishers for each game rather than MS for all of it. I hold no hope for AOEIII but still it's worth a shot right?

Woah. Nice. Does that only apply to certain 3DS' and just the new Zelda?

I'm honestly not sure it will work with that bundle since its a digital code for Zelda unless someone wants to correct me.

Dota 2 for 3DS please Valve ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

Volvo pls give Super Mario 3D World ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

Seriously, the new Mario is one of the few games that make me regret not having a console right now.

Sounds like a good idea so I say try it and see what happens. Would be interesting to see how publishers respond.

Well looks like I have to hold off a bit.
I can't acess GFWL app in Afghanistan for whatever dumb reason. Thus I can't pull my purchases at the moment.

Two changes between the classic version that I don't like are related to this. In classic, things outside of your viewable area would be stationary, while in the new version the entire floor is in motion at all times. Meaning the rolling boulder idol trap ends up being the riskiest thing to do in the entire game, and it's at the starting floors and the payoff is not worth it -- you just risk setting off shopkeeps and crushing damsels, treasure, and items.

The other change I don't like is just how erratic angered shopkeeps are. Killing them is the most optimal means of playing for score, but their frantic pinball movement and aggression sometimes means just lucking into surviving an encounter. In the classic version they're sedate by comparison.

I agree with this. I'm fine with setting off the rolling boulder traps in the mines as a risk/reward feature although it is a bit unfair. I typically check to see if there is a shop in that level but sometimes I screw up.

The real bugger is that the shopkeepers hang out at the exits of levels after you've pissed em off in a previous one. Even if you didn't do anything and managed to survive. So you're almost basically screwed for the entire rest of the run unless you got a ton of bombs/weapons and are extremely lucky.

Age 3 doesn't actually use GFWL so Microsoft may be accommodating there.

Universal Access can be found under System Preferences
An $80 game [AC IV] that includes pre-order bonuses + season pass but already gets DLC releases that aren't included on the day of release just reminds me of how disgusting gaming can be these days.

I want to buy the Time Saver DLC since it's cheaper than chips but given the descriptions I assume they activate automatically and so I'll just wait until I've finished the game.

How I feel after a night of Civ V.

That game sucks away time like nothing else. I just had to wipe out France...

I have CIV on this laptop and I still can't understand how to play.
I've tried to play the tutorial twice and it just opens more questions than answers. Think i'll try the single tuts over the learn as you play.

If you are interested in getting started, I always recommend people check out this video. Lays out all the basics and lets you know how to get started perfectly.

If it looks a bit long, you actually don't have to watch the whole thing. He continues the game after he is done with the tutorial to talk about some less important aspects of the game.

I take full responsibility of throwing this thread into disarray

it's what I do

but really back to topicland thanks denx for king's bounty, it's a pity that game isn't as popular as it should be (maybe that'd change if they actually did a proper sequel rather than questionably priced expansions). imma stop getting into these contests because I got like a streak of good luck and won like 4 games in a row and now I feel guilty about it

I know! People really should try King's Bounty games, especially now, when so many of them were in bundles, seriously.

My problem with Skullgirls must be my Xbox360 controller, seemingly out of whack entirely, when you can jump while tapping left, you now you need better dpad. Now I need to try it with other controller to be sure.

I'll give it a download tonight since that's when its the least used.
CIV just seems like it would be my kind of game as soon as I get over the curve.

Tried out GRID last night and wow, I am crap at racing games. But the solid 60 fps and above is sexy.

Grid is nice, both of them. Anecdotically, GRID was released in the arcades too by Sega, so it is the closest you can get from a modern sega racing game …

Yup. I had to stop around 20 hours because it was sucking all my sleepytime away (This was in a week with Gods & Kings). I'll get Brave New World when it is on the winter sale, but it's rather risky. Two years ago I was playing CIV3 on this old laptop, started playing around 10am and at one point I went "I should get something to eat" and it was already midnight.

I just played my first game tonight. We need to do a little more research into how religions work within the game.

I'm in the industrial era and I still haven't been given the option to found a religion.

For the uninitiated, if I had to choose between purchasing Gods & Kings, or Brave New World, which should I go for? I would assume Brave New World, since it has all of the mechanics from G&K, and is only missing the G&K specific civilizations.

I does, that's what so good and so scary about it. At the moment you start a game, you are sucked in and there is nothing you can do.
Why France? Always go for that smug Alexander or you'll regret it.
