Gran Turismo 6 |OT| Moon Rover The Castle

From the GT6 website:

I guess overall community feedback said no to endurance races. Hah.

The GT website does say this however:

I take that to mean that they added additional durations (24 minutes)

I doubt they would take out the 24 hour modes. I mean it's not like they haven't to do any real developing on them since they've been in past games.

Enduros should never be a mandatory for 100% in a GT career mode. I think the last time I did an enduro event was in GT2.

They should be optional. I think they should offer it as a seasonal just for extra cash.

I think the last time I did one was either 3 or 4 once you unlocked the F1 car you could do Super Speedway in about 25 minutes and get lots of credits.

So glad they fixed the smoke.

I'm sure there will be some sort of addition of 24-hour races through the seasonal events; it would be kind of daft not to, and Kaz has mentioned that they'll be taking fan feedback into account for the future content for GT6.

Got some hands on, the cockpit view is insanely dimmed. It's unrealistically dark.

And the game takes you through a tutorial which disables any other action than the one the game wants you to do, and forces you to buy a particular Honda as your first car for your credits.

Really torn on what to do right now. I have NFS on PS4 and Forza on Xbone. NFS is a completely different type of game, so I won't count that, but Forza is pretty disappointing IMO. Sucks because I pretty much bought the Xbone for it.

So, do I stick to disappointing Forza or go ahead and get GT6? I can save $15 on the regular edition at Best Buy, using rewards certificates, but think I'll go for the anniversary edition at GameStop if I decide to get it. Convince me, one way or another, GAF. Deep down, I don't think I can skip a GT title, but I'm not sure how much time I can put into it at the moment.

In the GT series I enjoyed the endurance races more than all other races combined. I have no interest in buying the game if there are no races over 30 minutes.

In GT5 I could race Sarthe and the Ring with changing conditions for hours on end and enjoy every minute of it. How could they put so much effort on time and weather changes and then take away the only events that actually use them. 24 minutes at Le Mans is only 7-8 laps.

Hopefully there is another level of events after S.

Yeah, I think the famitsu preview indicated that. They're trying to make it 'for everyone' in the beginning, and then it becomes a 'create your own experience' game later on.

Really hope that the enduros aren't gone. With the improved and added day/night cycles, along with integrated B-Spec, I was really looking forward to some endurance races at Le Mans, Spa, Bathurst and Daytona.

Corvette showdown at Willow Springs. I think this might be a driving mission.

Looks so good.

Just saw this. I've been a Forza guy this last generation, but I have to credit GT with some great, realistic atmosphere. I don't need carnivals, birds flying, and random shit happening on the track. Good, solid lighting and a realistic environment can go a long ways.

It's always been the rest of the game (navigation, career, etc) that's pushed me towards Forza. I'm hoping for the best for GT6!

Didn't use the photo mode that much in GT5, but in GT6 I think it's wonderful in the short time I've spent with it so far. Here's to hoping Polyphony Digital can render this stuff in real-time with the inevitable GT7.

(Also, Tesla Model S!)

Knowing Polyphony, they may choose to render at 2k or 4k 16:9 for GT7 when everybody else is at 1080p, they did it last gen with a higher resolution than all other racers minus RR7..
Yeah, and when they finally achieve it (to amazement of all) they will throw 3D in and break it all with tearing lol.

I think I have a idea or event planned for GT6 to get those of us picking up the game, a competition of sorts. I have the details in notepad, might be something interesting to look forward to.
Count me in - I plan to do all golds in licence test at first to earn some free cars (so no actual Aspec progress or online racing fore some days) but additional competition is good. I`m here at day one.

I know I never messed with the 24 hour races. That is just insane, even if you could save your progress and come back later.
I did GT5 24 Le Mans with other person but 85% race time was mine, at 24 Nurb I was all alone. Did some breaks after each 3h long stints. All of that was pre-patch that allowed saving endurance races. I was getting dizzy during the race few times, many times I was "zoned", driving completely like a robot without paying attention, thinking about something else. Good hardcore times but that makes me insane I guess ;-)
So yeah I would like to have them in GT6, especially if we have option to use Bspec Bob in race (is it confirmed for v1.00 or is it v1.xx patch inclusion?).

I still can't find any notable difference between GT5 and GT6. Maybe I'm not very deep into the game yet, but...this looks the same right now.

I'm sorry but no one's buying that (i'm exaggerating of course but you get the point). Beside a few select cars, most of them sound like shit. On the PS2, cars sounded like shit, Then the PS3 came and they still sounded like shit. That ain't hardware, that's PD's mixed bag of priorities. They need to sort em out. A few features to expand the game's experience is good and all but to what expense? That's right some of the fundamentals of the game took a hit.

then that's the 'what if' situation. you or anyone else do not know what pd would have sacrificed to get better sounds. every resource is limited, and there will always be tradeoffs. pd chose to forego sounds for other things, and those things are what's in gt6. we may never know what would've been taken out in exchange for better sounds, and better hardware does not mean jack shit. ps2 to ps3 why are games still 30 fps and now ps3 to ps4 games are still 30 fps (and some even go below it, still). you can't just assume those things are "few features to expand the game's experience". who's to say those cpu cycles could've been used to maintain framerate? all we know is that the cell is used to process audio on ps3, plus the sound files are stored in 256mb sysmem. those games that have better sounds on ps3 have sacrificed a thing or two to achieve those. no one knows if those features are few with minute effects.

No, not insane, lol. Just really dedicated. I guess it will be neat if they are included again for those who love to take it that far. I just meant that it would be insane for me to spend that much time on one race.

Heads up, it appears GAME has lost exclusive UK rights to the Anniversary Edition, it's now up for pre-order on Amazon (£60) and ShopTo (£55).

Cool, I don't think it's worth the £15 extra but I hate that GAME have so swiftly gone from bankruptcy to being the only place that ever gets the special editions again in this country as their prices are horrific. The ShopTo description says it includes a book/guide/thing but nowhere else seems to so I'm going to assume it's not true. That might've made the difference for me.

With the Pauper's Edition do I get those five cars unlocked from the start or do I still need to buy them?

Regarding fears of "heavy microtransactions" in GT6, I talked to PR and got this response:

"You don't need to spend anything to unlock events and cars, etc. We received lots of criticisms in GT5 about length of time needed to unlock things, so the purchase of in-game currency is all optional. If you want to earn it all, you can. If you want to purchase, you can as well but we don't force you to. It was misinterpreted when announced in our features list."

I've got about 15 hours of racing in, and I've seen no indication of any in the game. What's being referenced above is the fact that they'll be selling in-game credits on the PSN store for those that want to speed the progression process up.

How do you feel about the new streamlined career mode compared to GT5?

Does Gran Turismo 6 feature motion blur in gameplay, or is that a replay shot?

Hell no, I don't think they have it in replay either. That was added post production & NOT representative of gameplay.

To top it off, I haven't seen the real time shadows in the cockpit view in GT6 yet, like in that Forza 5 pic or like in GT5.
Is it confirmed to been removed, among the other things?

Can't say much, but it's "more streamlined" early on, things definitely get more complex as you progress.

To the other question, there are definitely real-time shadows in every cockpit view. Concerning the lighting etc, that's all I can say until the embargo lifts.

Judging from the demo and other footage: The shadows are still there, but they're less noticeable. Probably rendered at a lower resolution but heavily blurred over. Result: Less jaggy (criticized in GT5) but also less pronounced shadows.

The shadows nearly ruined the image in GT5. It may be less pronounced, but it's just overall easier on the eyes in GT6 (per the Academy demo).

I'll be posting some videos on Friday when the embargo lifts, and I'm trying to include the full replay after each race. I'll make sure to grab a video from a night race to show if it's what people are expecting.

I thought you could only do license tests after unlocking them by getting enough stars in events.

Uh, how about just making the progression not shit instead of leaving it and lumping in micros? For those of you who complained, we did you a "favor" by giving you the option to spend more money. You're welcome.

I'm going to buy this for my dad as one of his christmas gifts, I think he won't mind the microtransactions being there, so long as they're not locking him out of content. He just won't use them.

Yes, gameplay is 60fps while the replays are 30fps. They've been doing that since Prologue so that they can add extra effects (like motion blur) to replays.

I'm so ready. Even getting it at GS even though I have credit at BB and amz for the anniversary edition. T500 on rennsport stand and even got a brand new EVO SSD for my slim.

I wouldn't be concerned over this too much.

And this discussion too - http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/fears-of-microtransactions-in-gt6-addressed.291194/

No...a much bigger worse concern bothers me at the moment. Apparenly someone ALREADY hacked the GT6 save giving them the Redbull X2011 and trillions of credits at the novice level.

I'm trying to find the link on GTPlanet, I'll edit my post accordingly when I find it.

Umm, they didn't "leave" it, they supposedly fixed it. There's multiple posts suggesting that money is not an issue in this game. Micros are there for people who don't want to go deep into the career mode.
