Master System wise they could just bring over the actual 3D glasses games, though from what I played of them they weren't really all that exciting. Would be cool to see none the less, maybe two or three of them as a bundle.

different kind've 3D, no? also Zaxxon 3D was kinda cool

Quoting for new page as I'm curious what this does.

Also, Genesis vs Genesis 2 emulation?

AFAIK it's just parallax scrolling for the background.

The clouds in the sky also have depth. In addition, having parallax scrolling on the sky was only present in the Japanese version, so in the overseas version (which doesn’t have parallax scrolling), the sky was simply one background image displayed in the back.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
Here's my list:

- Bonanza Brothers 3D

I had a PAL version of Sonic (came packed in with the Mega Drive I bought in Moscow) and it had the moving clouds.

I remember later playing another version that had the static clouds and I noticed it immediately.

Just booted up a few of these titles in anticipation of the next few weeks.

Street of Rage is obviously a classic, a slower, clunkier classic than I remember but I'm obviously buying it.

Shinobi III is a lot cooler than I remember. It's also not even the game I remember. Which game is it where you have a dog with you? I wanted that one! Anyway might sound odd but I always hated how you fought machines in these games, I wanted more ninja on ninja action. Quite excited for the 3D version now though after thinking of skip it.

Ecco..... Nope. After all these years I still don't even get this damn game.

Gonna skip on Sonic 1 as I don't really care for Sonic 1 much, but whenever they have Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles I'll be there. Also going to get Shinobi.

Sonic 1 is the most platformer-ish Sonic ever, and it's still my favorite. Sonic 2 comes close, though. No nostalgia here, I discovered Sonic during the PS2 days (yet I only enjoy classic Sonic games).

Space Harrier is legitimately the best port of any game I've ever played, I am ridiculously impressed with what M2 have pulled off.

I became a lifelong fan of M2 when playing their glorious PS3 port of Daytona USA. The subsequent PSN Sega games were all ported with obvious love as well. These 3DS games just cement their dedication to their art.

That's for the sound chip. There were two different versions of the Genesis sound chip. The second version plays certain sounds more softly than the first version. It's nuts that they even include an option for it. :p

This is the one I really truly want. Not that I even care much for brawlers but I've always wanted to play this game and the 3D effect would work perfectly.
Well that or Dark Edge that should be a better game.

Very little System 32 were ever ported to console and it's a damn shame.
Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder looks fabulous.

Try Sonic Pocket Adventure if you can.

Picked up Space Harrier and Super Hang-On.
Enjoying Space Harrier a lot! Using the stylus to control works really well.
Yet another amazing job by M2. Can't wait to play Shinobi III for the 10000th time later this month. Easily my favorite Genesis game.

I'm going to say I'm enjoying this version of Sonic way more than the mobile version which for some reason gets a ton of praise.

Folks mistakingly latch onto widescreen for some reason. Makes zero sense. ZERO sense.

This is the best port of the game outside of VC.

Does the mobile version have the better d-pad? I think it's mostly because it doesn't suck and it's really mobile on a phone. Sonic CD is awesome on mobile so if it has the better d-pad that that has then it should be pretty good.

The mobile port has Tails and Knuckles as unlockable characters, plus the ability to play as Sonic and Tails (and allows the player to command the Tails AI to airlift Sonic) and remastered music. And that's not even going into some of the miscellaneous secrets added to the game or all of the crazy stuff packed into the game's debug mode. M2's port is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but the mobile port completely blows it out of the water feature and presentation wise. The only real strike against it is the lack of buttons.

In my opinion:

Sonic 1 iOS/Android > 3D Sonic 1 > Sonic 1 (Sonic Jam) > Virtual Console > Sonic GBA

Sonic Genesis shouldn't even be on that list, at least not before in compilations like Sonic Mega Collection. :p Hell Sonic 1 from Classic Collection DS is obviously better. :)

No buttons and d-pad makes it a curiosity. But in no way should it be included in any list. Good lord.

Well, I was trying to keep it limited to actual ports of the game instead of straight up emulation of the game like in most of the post Sonic Jam compilations. (Though come to think of it, I forgot that VC technically falls under the emulation category too.)

I don't see why not. Lack of buttons is a big issue, especially for a platformer, but aside from that (and 3D, obviously) it's a fantastic port nonetheless.

M2 is amazing, but Daytona USA and the other Model 2 ports on PS3 and 360 (Virtua Figther 2, Sonic The Fighters, Etc.) were made by the AM Port Team.

Going to buy Sonic for pure nostalgia reasons. That and the Buster Douglas Boxing game were my first two console games ever.

Lack of 3D is a trivial (and cosmetic). But lack of proper controls is ridiculous. Crazy-speak.

Android controllers exist! I have it on my Xperia Play, and it, along with the Sonic CD port, is a thing of beauty.

3D is pretty much the only reason I'm buying these games I already own again.
Not trivial for me, but yes of course controls are first and foremost important.

Bought Sonic, a little weird so far. Options aren't marked clearly, I guess I have to look at the Operations Guide to see what the "Special" toggle does on the main screen, unless it's Spin Dash.

Speaking of, I revved up, waited until the first Motobug rolled into me... and took damage. :/

Also, I just pressed X on the title screen, since "Start" didn't start the game... and it showed the level select, no code required. Okay?

Edit: Ah, that's exactly what Special does. So why not label it "Stage Select" or something?

Lol, are the extra characters better than the really nice 3D and actual buttons? :p

Not exactly the fault of the Android port developers. They can't magically make hardware buttons appear with an app.

The thing is, we could've had both, the Retro Engine remake on a platform with hardware buttons and 3D.

They did great with what they had, but I prefer the version with buttons.

Me too. I've never seen a platformer that works well on touch. Surprisingly enough, I love the touch shooters. But platformers are a problem. Still neat what they did to the port, though.

Power Drift 3D would make my balls explode.

I'm sure Outrun would be at the top of most folk's wish list, but I assume the Ferrari license will prevent that happening.

Power Drift is a wild card, although I am pulling for it.

After Burner, Out Run and Thunder Blade arcade though are likely. TB is not a brilliant game by Sega's standards, but it's fun enough, and the layered scaling is just begging to be shown off in 3D.

golly i am having a lot more fun with sonic than was expected (which isn't saying much because i do not like sonic 1 very much but still)

also naturally space harrier 3d is amazing

why am i spending $6 apiece on these games i already own and even worse feeling like it's been worth the price
damn you segaaaaaa
