Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PC releasing digitally "soon". [Still Coming]

Konami's what?

By in-house: I meant Kojima Pro and/or the people responsible for porting PES/Winning Eleven games to PC. Ta for sharing the info.

I actually hoped that it would be ported by PG, because if they did a good job with the port I think a lot of people will spam @PG_kamiya to port every game they've worked on.

I come in here all excited only to see one of my posts on the first page six months earlier. I should expect this when it comes to PG and Konami games on the PC.

*sighs*
Maybe they canceled the PC version and instead are working on a X1 and PS4 version instead.
A good assumption at this point.

It's a late PC port from Konami, which means it will probably be busted.

Who has Durante on speed dial?

I don't think so. It has only been 2 months since we got the last update from Kojima.

At this point we are not publishing the re-print of the title a la Japan. We did, however, lower the price of the game and are currently offering the DLC for Sam and Bladewolf for FREE in North America on PSN, and Worldwide on Xbox Live.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'm an EU PSN user however.

I don't know much about development, but apparently it took 3 months to port Warframe from PC to the architecturally similar PS4, and that was considered 'fast'. Considering how different the PS3 and PC are, and how inexperienced Japanese developers are with PC, it makes sense for the porting process to be over 6 months.

To add to that, Alan Wake for PC took 5 months to port and that was a 360 -> PC port plus it was a game that had a functional PC version for years, until it it was cancelled.

RPS: How long has the PC version been in development?

Häkkinen: I’d say about four, five months? It’s about five months of development.

The issue wasn't so much the porting itself taking 6 months, as much as the usage of the word "soon" followed by 6 months of no relevant official news.

I just hope we hear something official soon, and that the game gets a day 1 release on steam (unlike what happened to PES 2014). I'm still extremely excited to play this.

My X360 version just arrived.
FML. Double dip time ?

Don't worry, they said they would release the game "soon" 6 months ago and it's still not here. For all we know it might not release until mid-way through next year.

I'll definitely double dip though. Can't wait. The 360 version has issues which would be completely solved by a half decent PC version.

Well Kojima tweeted a screenshot (or picture, can't remember) of the PC version like 2 months ago. It's semi-official. :p

Define problems? :(
I only bought the game because it felt smooth as hell on the X360 demo.

Well the game has lots of jaggies everywhere and the shadows look like shit. The framerate is good almost all the time, the only time I noticed big drops was when I was cutting several enemies into lots of pieces at once using blade mode. Anyway, have you played Bayonetta on 360? Because from my experience MGR:R has a more consistent framerate so if you were ok with Bayonetta you'll be more than okay with MGR:R.

I had an absolute joy with Bayonetta on X360, so I'm good then :D
But yeah, jaggies and so-so shadows is expected when you want to target an higher framerate on the X360/PS3. Miracles do not exist.

Now that I think of the PC port... will we have a "Definitive Edition" coming up for the PS4 and XOne? The new consoles are basically closed down PC's

PS3 version = Cleaner image
360 version = Better FPS

Thank God Platinum have started to develop both versions of their games in house since the disaster that was Bayonetta on the PS3, was garbage.

Dont think so. The game hasnt sold that much on a bigger install base and has already been on ps plus.

Just in time for Christmas holidays.
According to Murphy's law, it's being launched on Steam this week. Thank me later everyone

Here to confirm, as always... SOON.

Ding, ding, ding! Very astute. Remember who is developing the title, and their history of PC ports (or lack thereof).

Konami's what?

Bottom left of the Japanese box cover. To the right of the rating. Zoom. Enhance. You'll find your answer. <3

The official word is soon. The unofficial is no less nebular. I want to play Rising on my rig as much as anyone else, but it will be done when it is done, and not a moment before.

At least we know it's in good hands, albeit new to this sort of thing.

Thanks for the updates.

Good news that it's actually Platinum themselves working on it. Hope that makes more PC versions of their games possible.

I like to pretend that Platinum is going to give us a surprise and release this and all their games on PC the same day....One can dream.

Oh man, I've been waiting for this moment...

And as soon as it comes to PC, then I can wait till it's 10 dollars and snatch it up.
Delectable.

edit: Oh, it's not coming? Lame.

I'd buy it to support the notion of more Platinum games on Steam.

That way, I won't have to buy the Xbox 360 versions of Bayonetta or Vanquish
or possibly Anarchy Reigns
.

Honestly I'm not opposed to them taking all the time they need.

The more they learn about the platform, the better the odds are that the eventual MGS5 PC version will end very well.

Kojima Production taking on the port of MGSR and still not being able to finish it would be darkly funny, though.

Will be hilarious if Rising original team is the one porting PG's Rising to PC.

don't MGSV lead on PC anyway?

Maybe I should team up with you and double dip on the PS3 version, as I too have the same super power. I just bought Person of Interest on Bluray, for it go up on Netflix UK the same day the boxset arrives in the mail.

Left next to the rating?

the "kojima production present" line? so it's not PG?

Oh, that's a different box than I was looking at. Ha.

There's another line under the Kojima Productions Presents that is the "Developed by Platinum Games" line I was referencing.
