So I bought the digital version at the start of the weekend, and gave the disc one to my cousin for early christmas. The digital version doesn't recognize my save games so I have to beat the game over again to unlock everything. Lucky for me I decide I'm going to do hard mode and basically unlock and get all the trophies for single player at once before diving back in. And its a good thing I did because about 2 days after jumping back into online my save is corrupted and it doesn't think I have beat the game or anything. I even back made sure to back-up my cloud save after beating it but when I tried to download that save back to my system it still shows me as never having played the campaign.
Luckily I have all the trophies now except for the last 3 online lines, and it still recognizes me as having the M249 and P90 for multiplayer so I didn't lose access to the guns you get from completing the campaign. I give DICE a lot of slack for their battlefield releases because I love their games, but man these save bugs are really getting on my nerves, but at least I'm done with them. I have beaten the campaign 4 complete times now counting all my PS4 save corruptions and beating it on PC and everything. All multi from here on out.
One other odd thing I noticed, the game seems to crash a whole lot more when I'm playing with friends. Whenever its just me playing multiplayer without friends I never seem to crash. But when I join friends games and we are playing in a squad together that is when it seems to crash for me.

It's not too bad if you have one or two friends that want to play together. If you have a full squad of 5, I'm not sure this game is for you unless you don't mind jumping on an empty server and waiting for it to slowly fill.
No, you can. The issue is overblown.
Have one person in your party join a server, then you will show up to everyone else as being in a game. It's a one button press operation to join your friend's game. Then once you're in, you can switch teams and get into their squad if need be.
It's not as clean as joining as a party, but it isn't TOO much of a hassle.
Is it overblown? I tried to play with one friend and it was a complete chore to both get into the same game and get on the same team. I could not imagine trying to coordinate with 2+ other people.
I would not be surprised if they added party support for premium members only.
Its not overblown and it is a hassle when you can't see friends in game and they can't see you like I had last night. Its also an issue when you try to browse servers at the same time and get 2 different lists despite using the exact same filters.
Dont downplay this, man. Dont do it.

Its definitely a hassle when the server or team fills up, which happens often.
And even assuming you can all get together and get squadded up there's a not-insignificant chance one or more of you will crash.
Its not overblown in the slightest.
It sure is if you have plans to play with 4 friends on a squad. Unless you pick a graveyard server and hope for it to fill up, that is.
When playing with just one or two friends it's manageable (even though it sucks).
I played in a game just like this over the weekend. Frustrating and totally ruined the match for me.

I had my brother in the room watching me fail at long snipes for like 20 minutes. Got that one and it was like we had won the Super Bowl. Jumping around the room and shit. I had absolutely no impact on the outcome of the match. Finished like 3/5 in a 30 minute match. And yet, it was the most fun I've had with the game yet. Ballistic scope actually has a use! lol
On a sidenote, shoutout to famousmortimer for taking his asswhoopin in TDM like a man last night. :3 I saw the name and was like, "I wonder if this is..." and checked the profile. Sure enough. He was only level 6 or 7, but he didn't feed.

Another vote for horrible, disaster of hassle trying to get a group into a BF4 game. No excuse. How long has in been since BF3... they need to look directly at COD for inspiration... that's the one thing that franchise does right.
Full disclosure: I haven't tried to get into a squad with friends in BF4 yet, because I just got it the other day.
However, if it's ANYTHING like how it was when trying to get together when the party system in BF3 wouldn't work, then yes, that's a major hassle, and unfortunately, EA/DICE will likely do nothing to fix it. Getting into a squad with my 3 friends was a goddamned nightmare sometimes, and I'm not kidding when I say we'd sometimes end a couple hour session having never all gotten together in a squad.
The bolded is spot on. I think I mentioned earlier in this thread that CoD is the game that I keep going back to, mainly because I usually play with friends, and the party system works 99% of the time.

Oh you're in for it... it's WORSE! There is NO system. They just didn't bother to make anything. The easiest way is joining through your PSN friends list. Inside of BF4 you just have a list of games being played by friends... not WHICH friend is playing... just "domination on operation locker" sorta labels. That are always full. Pointless.
It really is mind blowing. They just need to get their shit together.

I am currently having issue on ps4 after I select options button after the intro it just remains at the loading raining city backdrop scene? Tried cleaning disc and reboot no luck.
Oh yeah I know there's no system...have known since launch, and I still bought it like an idiot : )
I was just referring to the fact that many times, the party system in the PS3 version of BF3 just wouldn't work, and we'd have to resort to trying to match up manually, which is just what they have us doing now, except now, this is the ONLY option. At least in 3, there was a system, and it would occasionally work.

Ugh. Well, some googling around shows that putting the ps4 in DMZ might work. No time tonight; I'll try it tomorrow. I guess it playing perfectly on Friday was a fluke.

So I have premium and downloaded china rising... But the only servers with the new maps are a few air superiority and then a bunch of 0/10 player servers. I've checked my filters, ps4 version. No conquest or anything else showing up at all. Is this a common thing right now or is this a issue on my end? Vanilla maps show up fine all game types.
I've been able to consistently get into CR maps by seatching only for CR maps on conquest. FInishing a match is another story though.

Just put mine is DMZ mode and decided to try getting into a match that had like 62/64 players and it let me in on the first try..IDK if that was just pure luck but I think it works.

Same here, but on the 3rd game it took a shit on me yet again. I hope this get's fixed soon. At least it is a good sign that they are stopping further development of other things and focusing on fixing the game as it is.

Grrr, I was just playing last night on obliteration, driving along the road with my favorite vehicle the, AA one, and suddenly I'm stuck in a hole. The crater was blasted JUST right to completely trap my AA vehicle. Got a few kills while stuck, but 50 meters away past the wall next to me the bomber was planting. I coulda stopped him if I wasn't stuck in a god damned hole!

Got error code three consecutive times in less than an hour of normal play session, quitting the game to the UI. A little frustrating!

It's been two weeks since I've bothered putting the disc back in. Sounds like the game is still a broken mess. This is just sad now. I'm not even angry anymore. How did this happen?

this latest patch is terrible. prior to this i rarely had any issues. now i get a crash with an error reporting screen every other game
when it happens the audio output on my ps4 becomes all blotchy and i need to reboot the system to correct it. in a rush to fix the issues they released an even worse patch, what a joke

It was terrible tonight for me, the most I have seen since launch. I usually see very little of it, but today it was terrible. I really wish Dice would just fix everything. The crashes, and rubber banding are beyond ridiculous at this point.
It was trying to play it just yesterday and I found maybe a couple servers without DLCs.
Not willing to give my money to DICE unless its heavily discounted(Or till they fix their game.
). On a scale of 1 to 10, how screwed I am without Premium or any DLCs?

For me it's at least a few crashes a night, usually a crash every three games or so.

the latest patch has made things worse then they ever were for me personally. at least before you just wouldnt get into a game. now it crashes hard to the XMB at the end of a game losing all of your XP, and you need to reboot the PS4 to fix the damn sound (optical output)
if multi crashes theres a good chance your unrelated single player campaign will be corrupted

Before i would get some rubber-banding, like couple of times during the match, now its the whole match, especially when playing rush, when everyone is trying to run as fast as possible to arm/disarm objective

I'm really starting to have a lot of fun with this game. I was really having some trouble at first, but I'm really starting to get the hang of it. I played a few games earlier with Qwell, and a few with D-Generate and had a blast. (I'm ScareGoat)
Excellent news, I'll try it tonight. I had to do the same thing with my PS3 for CoD4, so this is nothing new. Just kinda shouldn't be necessary, is all.
Finally sat down and gave this game a shot yesterday. I've only been playing BF4 on and off since that amazon deal for PS3->Upgrade to PS4. I had quite a bit of fun despite a few crashes. I've been playing BF since 1942 and this is the first time I've played on a console platform. After playing PC and switching over it's a completely different game. Playing on consoles is much easier than playing on PC. Anybody else notice this?
