The screenshots themselves look nice and clean actually, so i'm happy with this. May even be the first Musou game I buy.

This looks terrible. Couldn't they have picked a more competent developer to collaborate with? When was the last time Tecmo Koei made a good game?

If you were to ask me I would say Dynasty Warriors 8 in July, but if you're not a fan of the Musou series then you would have to back further.

I like the DW games but I'm just sort of indifferent towards this. Between the active platforms there are literally like a dozen other options to get your Musou fix. This seems like the worst possible choice for a collaboration that will get people excited and attracted to Wii U for that very reason.

"Dozen" of proper musou fix?

DW
Gundam
Samurai (defunct?)
One Piece (PS3 only)
FOTN
Orochi

Further, it looks like the series' availability outside of a Sony platform looks sketchy at best (looking like going forward only the proper series is making it to MS?). So at the least it's another option, and at the most it gives a musou option on a Nintendo platform, and a new musou game on a non-Sony platform.

Overall it's a clear win. And it's unlikely to be taking massive resources away from Tecmo or any away from Nintendo.

Looks a bit rough. I've always wanted a Zelda game to play like Dynasty Warriors. I'm just glad it's a spin-off and not another Other M.

Awwwwww yiiiiisssss. Day negative one. My only concern is lack of longevity without a bunch of characters to use.

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
I think it would've been cooler if they included all the different incarnations of Link with their own power-set, like Four Swords Link being able to multiply, and Twilight Link being able to use his wolf form...

This was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the trailer. It makes sense given the design of the enemies in the trailer.

...Fuck it.

I like Link's design. And his weapons.

I don't care about Dynasty Warriors though. Maybe this game will be... slightly more interesting.

I'm only disappointed by the fact that Nintendo declined Retro's Sheik game, but are approving of this. I'm sure Retro would have made a better hack'n slash title.

Anyway, the Warrior titles are good fun and I'm sure this one will be too. Even if it's damn ugly.

But Retro can make better than mindless hack and slash games.

Came in expecting a lot "this looks terrible" posts and do not leave disappointed.

Have a real soft spot for musou games as they're fun as hell to play. Looking forward to this. It'll do VERY well in Japan as well I reckon.

Well there is also DW/Orochi games on 3DS, Wii and Wii u. Like I said I don't think it's a terrible idea, just that it's sort of indifferent. I'd like to see some stuff out of Nintendo that is more exciting. To your point about it not taking up a lot it resources, I think that's the problem for me. It doesn't seem like it's something that requires a lot of effort.

Not my thing at all, but I imagine a lot of people would like this. It mustn't have been in development for very long because the graphics are pretty poor at this stage, they have that early look.

Why give Link a cape, I wonder?

That is slightly disappointing. I just hope they don't do to Zelda what they have been doing with the Mario IP. I'd have prefered a "stategy" zelda to this action oriented one... even if it was just a puzzle game. I will pick this up for cheap some time down the line though.

Which of the big publishers in the West want to even touch Wii U? None.

If they wont port their games to Wii U, I'm sure they would more likely accept developing a Nintendo funded and published game from them.

They're doing it with Japanese publishers, why can't the same be done in the west?

It seems to me that it is made out of GameCube dead code, whether somebody may suggest it could be sort of PlayStation2 resources emulation output.
Not the best showcase for Wii U.
Not much impressed.
