Q: Eli Manning’s 2013 season?
A: Eli has relied on trust in his teammates and taking educated risks and depending on guys to make plays around him, and all of a sudden that was taken away. It was alarming to see them not be able to stop the bleeding. At some point, you gotta stop the bleeding. He can’t come out next year and play sloppy. You gotta start fast next year.

I fully agree with Trent, and it's why I got really tired of Gilbride's offense, when it clicked ... it clicked. However, it also seemed to derail so easily.

As Tuesday Morning Qb on ESPN has noted in approximately 500 columns it is bullshit to use tax dollars to pay for that shit.

They should be mad.

yeah, fucking hate that shit. private companies shouldn't be having tax payers pay for stadiums where they rake in money from concessions and tickets and all the other what nots.

Definitely BS, but for owners, if they can get someone else to pay for it, they will.
Real rich people are even worse than fake rich people like lunchbox (or his new identity).

NFL is the best deal for owners. You are guaranteed to make money every year thanks to salary cap and tv deals. After that it is all gravy.

Fuck those greedy fucks. Wish more people had the balls to stand up to them but I understand why they don't. Losing your football team is effective blackmail. I would hate to see the Steelers leave to LA too.

Counter Strike is the best shooter of all time and if you disagree with me your probably a console kiddy.

edited: edited because this is gaf and i don't need another ban.
console kiddy would probably be bannable on gaming side too

I thought they added a 1 or 2 % tax on something for the next 15 years to pay for it?

Details:

The Panthers original plan was to spend $250 million on stadium renovations. The city would have spent $125 million on improvements, and the state would have paid $62.5 million. The Panthers would have spent $62.5 million.

In exchange for that public money, the Panthers would have agreed to a 15-year “tether” to the city.

But the General Assembly rejected the city’s plans to increase the prepared food and beverage tax from 1 percent to 2 percent for 30 years. Instead, legislators only gave the city permission to use money from the city’s Convention Center fund for the Panthers. Gov. Pat McCrory and legislative leaders also rejected the team’s request for state money.

The plan approved Monday calls for the city to spend $75 million in stadium improvements. The Panthers will spend $37.5 million.

In addition, the city will pay the team $1 million a year for 10 years for stadium maintenance. The public will also pay $250,000 annually for traffic control on game days.

The Panthers have agreed to give the city and the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority five rent-free days a year from January to June. That is valued at $250,000 per event.

The tentative deal says that if the Panthers attempt to leave before the end of the 2018 season, the city is entitled to seek an injunction before a Mecklenburg Superior Court judge. If the injunction is not granted and the team leaves, it would pay a penalty.

That penalty would be $75 million if the team leaves leave after the 2013 season. It would decline by $7.5 million after each additional season through year six.

In years seven through 10 of the agreement, the Panthers would have to pay the city $37.5 million to leave. That penalty would again decline by $7.5 million after each season. Or instead of a financial penalty, the city would have the option to buy the stadium for $1.

The two things I do agree are needed are escalators (getting to the uppers sucks ass) and new video boards.

Yup. Real rich people are stingy, they don't ever spend their own money.

Well that's simply our Seattle sports mentality. More like a defensive mechanism at this point.

Yeah, understandable.

America is rooting for Manning and the Broncos, even if the NFL is doubting them!

I'm not anywhere mentioning of how many people are polled? Ah well, interesting stuff nonetheless.

Regarding shooters, I have a special fondness for the first Gears of War, but yeah, I'll conceded that Counter-strike is King.

I'm too old and not enough dedication to care about multiplayer gaming now these days though.

Vita but not PS4 support? That doesnt seem right.

Not sure what you mean.

EDIT: Nevermind, saw your edit:). Yeah, PS4 definitely supported. Curious to see what the subscription prices are. Vita support is going to make it one of my favorite handhelds. Just having the PS2 library on the Vita is amazing.

I wonder if it's only going to be sony tablets and TVs. That's what I'm assuming right now,but if they open this up to other devices that's insane.
I'd have to dig up some older articles when the Gaikai service was being discussed. Yoshida specifically had some interesting things to say about it and I believe the long term strategy is for this to be platform agnostic. It may come built into Sony brand devices off the bat but eventually fan out. You'll never see current platform titles (i.e. PS4 games) on the service until this generation is over but it makes too much sense not to leverage their massive library of older generation titles in that way.

Wait, does this mean that I can play The Last of Us on the PS4?
Yep. It essentially makes backwards compatibility a non-issue as you're basically streaming the game. The question is how much the service has improved since Sony purchased Gaikai and will the experience be a good one? Sony needs to get that very very right for this to work.

Though the BC issue opens up a big series of questions as to whether there will be a way for folks who own The Last of Us to play it via the service without a rental or sub fee? Don't know if there will ever be a good answer to that.

As long as Vita and PS4 are supported I give no fucks. Playing actual games on a tablet is an abysmal experience.

So my question is: Who cares?

Flair is a washed-up, 64-year-old former star of a very fake "sport" who doesn't even live in Charlotte anymore.

He can give a speech to anyone he wants to, but he is not the Panthers' No.1 celebrity fan and has not been for a long time. Not even close. I give you two alternatives -- both of whom are in their athletic prime, don't get in trouble with the law and love the Panthers.

Charlotte Observer Columnist goes in on Ric Flair.

For the dolphins it was only a one percent tax increase for hotels (bed tax) and it was supposed to be paid back after 30 years in full with interest. It was all bullshit either way, Ross can afford it but chose not too because it would raise jobs and the facility is used by more than just the team so he felt it needed to be a community project, fucken BS.

I am in.

Do you have meetings too? Are they in the woods because it is pretty fucking cold outside right now. I would prefer something inside like a hotel or Starbuvks Also any special clothing requirements? Do I need something special like maybe a robe? Any particular color?

I will bring some homemade brownies to the first common sense meeting.

Robes are expensive. Try to find something cheaper. Maybe drapes? I don't know, think outside the box.

We call them whiteies.

White works just make sure it has a hood that covers your face.

Yankeehater, I share your hope that the Patriots will lose their relevancy in the coming seasons.

I have hope the Eagles will continue to improve. I can't assure you that they will have a better record than the Patriots, but this upcoming season will be the Eagles chance to prove what they are.

If the Eagles end next season with a 10-6 or 11-5 record, will eznark/Squicken be willing to admit that the Eagles are a good team? I think this upcoming season will be a good indicator of where the Eagles truly stand.

If they go 11-5 with that schedule holy fucking shit. I am still not 100% sold on Foles but last offseason is biggest problem was arm strength and he worked all offseason and improved that a ton. Hopefully he spends the whole offseason on getting the ball out quicker. The sack that made the first field 10 yards longer came on a play where he held the ball for 8 seconds. That should never happen. He did a lot of good things this year but there is definitely room for improvement. Next year is the make or break year for him. 3rd year in the league and I believe the last year of his rookie deal. I really hope he can take the next step.

Yeah, kind of sad because it's so true. No one can stand up to them. But they should.

I expect him to take big steps forward to with another season in the system and a full offseason of first team reps.

That one report also made it sound like Maclin would be back, which is good. I hope the Eagles can address their defense this offseason.

The Eagles can score on any team. As long as they can continue to score as many points as they have scored per game this season, they will be in a lot of games. The Eagles need to improve their secondary and pass rush if they want to mitigate the damage on the other side of the ball. Either draft or sign a pass rusher depending on the depth of that position for this upcoming draft. I want Byrd, but there are other less expensive options on the market too.
