DriveClub February 28th?

Nah, NA launch date would be the 28th. I am led to believe that Sony release games on Friday now.

TLOU launched on a Friday, all the PS4 launch titles came on a Friday (well of course those came out on a Friday :p), Infamous is coming on a Friday.... This makes sense.

Sony only releases on friday if its a worldwide launch. The last of us/ps4/infamous are all worldwide launches.
All specific dates are tuesday for america, has been that way for a very long time.

However driveclub can certainly be a worldwide launch considering its appeal as a racer and the ps4 launching in japan only a week prior to the date given, we wont know until they announce the date.

The DriveClub date strikes me as a bit odd, given that it's written in the more American format despite being a UK advert. Given that I have never been across the pond, I am not sure how often this happens in ads.

Other than that, end of February seems plausible. Fingers crossed.

It has been rated, so presumably cannot be far away now.

Anyone know how the ratings work - if the game is content-locked can they submit that for classification but still spend the next 15 months optimising etc or does it have to be the final, final, final version?

I guess they could but they'd have to resubmit for a certification? Anyway the game will be out next month right? Right?

we still havent gotten the full race video, that was promised in november. if they cant even give us footage from a full race with other ai cars (and not just 5 second gifs), they sure as hell wont release the game in 6-7 weeks. i expect late april or may.

Still waiting for my PS4 launch day game!!!

On the plus side, I was only planning to buy driveclub and Killzone with the PS4 and pretty much sit on those and PSN and games until March. However, because DC was delayed I gave Knack and AC IV a run and I've loved both.

Between KZ, Knack, Resogun, and AC I've been pretty set with my PS4. Still want DC the most, though.

The rating is for the content, so they can optimize all they like. There will be a cut off date though so if they went past that they'd need to resubmit.

This was my most anticipated title, so seeing that the gears are churning is encouraging.
Hope a more earnest media blitz follows soon.

I havent a clue what is up with Drive club. That have barely shown the actual game. Some time trial demos on one track and those random 15 second clips.

BINGO!

For a game set to make use of Sony's architecture and social features it seems few have found it odd or even noticed that Evolution have never shown a single split second of footage with more than one player on the screen. I need to stress what Evolution stressed in DC you can race against other clubs but for a game releasing. in a little over a month something just seems odd

Are you referring to having more than one car onscreen? If so, yes they have. They've shown clips with multiple cars on multiple occasions.

Watchdogs isn't coming out in March...that hype might as well die down for you guys. All indications for watchdogs lead me to believe it's coming summer (June) or fall. Drive club on the other hand look very possible.

is anyone else just slightly concerened that the rumored release date ist merely 1 1/2 months away and there is literaly no PR for the game? it has gone to total Radio silence and afaik we are still waiting for the full grid full race Video..

I assume if it is coming out late February or around such time, we should see some more PR for it very soon. I can forgive the past few weeks because I assume Sony marketing and the developers themselves would be off on their Christmas/New Years holiday. Currently, it's impossible to tell what's going on.

I know for sure though I'ld rather Evolution take their time and make a fantastic game than being let down by something that is sub-standard, especially as it will be the PS4's first exclusive racing game.

Since the thread was bumped, might as well share something that people might not have seen. Here is some UI concept work from one of their designers, showing how driveclub's 'social network' works. Wonder if it looks like that in the actual game.

The UI designer posts here, so he could confirm it. What i'd like confirmation on is whether or not the Lamborghini Aventador mentioned is in the game

There have been no previous mentions of Lamborghini appearing in the game.

HNNNG! Also, the lighting in that screenshot on the left looks real nice. Can anyone guess what car that is? What is that thing sticking from the dash?

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
So... Confirmed date or not?! I need this... Preordered PS4 for it :(

I hope PSN prices change soon, here in the UK im buying from the US store and find it such a niggly pain that those titles dont go into my UK library and when I go to the WhatsNow tile it says "Buy now for £52.99"

Nope. But it'll have a PS+ edition, which will have a majority of the content of the full game, that you can upgrade to the full version if you like it.
Edit: beaten.

There is zero chance it's going to have the majority of content when the game is a full price retail title.

How many retail copies do you think they would sell at £50 if the PS+ version already had the lions share of the content.

They're doing it like Forza 5, but rather than take out content and spread it out over a season pass, they're including it all on the disc when it comes out.

Driveclub PSN = FM5
Driveclub retail = FM5 + season pass

Except they're giving away the cut-down version for free.

Driveclub was rated on the OFLC (Australian) website in October last year.

Everytime I see a Driveclub thread bumped I get a little excited that just maybe we'll get to see an actual video of an actual full race, and not some bullshit 3 second gif or Rushy telling us about how the graphics will be awesome. (although I do appreciate that he posts here at all)

This game is due out in a couple of months is it not? So I have to ask, what exactly are Evolution fucking doing? Seriously... Wtf.

You can upgrade the PS+ version to the full version, or you can buy specific content instead.

Working on the game, I'd imagine. Just because they're not pushing out videos doesn't mean they're all sat on a boat enjoying a cocktail.

seriously, seems like people just assume that no proper work is done when we're not fed with contant gameplay updates. They're probably crunching their asses off trying to get this ready and as good as possible asap. Sony will probably ramp up the PR once it gets closer to release, maybe a month out or so, but seeing as it's free for everyone to try (basically) then that will alleviate some of the necessity to raise awareness by marketing.
