I think this one can be forgiven.
It is clear they do not yet have a date, but likely based on how a few things progress in the very near future they will be able to have a concrete date, and at which point they'll relay that to us.
But the reason for this statement is obviously to combat the fact that some were bitching about it being marked as TBC for Japan.
Don't forget IGN asked them for a date. It isn't Sony off their own back saying oh hey everyone, a date is coming soon trying to hype up a date reveal.

Don't know why people are being so damn negative. Evolution has shown again and again that, given enough time, they can make pretty amazing racing games. And time is what Sony is giving them here, instead of making them rush something out before it's ready. This game is gonna be awesome.
But yeah, I do hope it's not too far off. Infamous is in March, so probably April for this.
99% sure to be 30 fps with some sweeet eye candy. Sure, 60 is perferable for a racing game, but with some nice motion blur 30 is just fine. It never bothered me that Pacific Rift and Apocalypse were 30 fps, they felt great to play.

Why aren't people harassing other developers that barely revealed or showed off their game? Some of those actually have release dates, like Titanfall. We saw the E3 video and 1 other short video and no one is harassing them? So far we know that there's 2 maps and 3 titans.
I have no idea why people expect Evolution to show off gameplay footage of their game every week when it's still in development. Remember when they did that pre-e3-August? People took giant dumps all over the game and bitched about every little detail. If I was in their position, I would wait until there's a month or so before release so people can see the game in it's retail form.
I'm guessing you missed the gamersyde GIFs? It looked great and showed more than 1 car on the track.

I'll go with this prediction. That and they spend fifteen minutes on the game during this year's E3 presser - after PS2-era style sales charts taking up the first twenty minutes, and yet another Destiny and Order trailer . . . leaving about ten minutes for games not yet announced.

I'm hoping its before summer. That'd be nice.
It's the first driving game I've been interested in since Burnout Paradise. I'm not a sim guy at all, so GT does nothing for me, but DC looks fun from what we've seen.
If it looks as good as it did last time it was shown, I doubt it.

Forget an announcement, just show us the game. Its already been delayed, show us why. All will be forgiven if this game lives up to the hype.
The reflection of the dash in the window... such a little detail, but it blows me away that it's there.
