HUD looks fine. What's wrong with it?
Biggest offenders are the coordinates (and seemingly random numbers) on the minimap and the huge text in the middle when you level up or complete a challenge. They're both practically useless bits of information (especially since the coordinates go into the thousands) and just clutter the screen. Then there are smaller things like showing the name of your weapon at the bottom right (also shows the name more prominently when you spawn), the scoring at the bottom middle of the screen and all the icons with buttons right next to them. Might as well just put the entire control scheme up there while you're at it.

I'm not sure about the newest KZ, but against BF4 this thing feels way faster/smoother to me. I feel like I'm playing on mouse and keyboard at times it's running so smooth. But I'm running on the US West Server. I'm in So. Cal. I'm getting really buzzed right now watching the Seahawks vs 49ers... and after that it's time to Titan..... Fall! :0

God I've just had the exact opposite experience. You actually think this plays smoother than those? Wow.

I'm in So Cal too and on US west. This doesn't even feel locked fps. Lol I'm going go stop talking about this because I feel in the Twilight Zone.

Edit: you were just talking about BF4. Still disagree, but you didn't say both.

Oh come on, the coordinates are clearly only for the Alpha test. There's no reason why they would be in the final game.

It's probably just developer debug bullshit that they didn't bother to disable for the test.

Ghosts muted the level up/challenge complete/attaboy awards compared to past CoDs and I hate it.

Different strokes mang. I watched a bunch of vids and never felt like it was excessively obtrusive.

The x/y coords are probably alpha stuff. The bottom left/right indicators could be shrunk, but I don't mind in your face awards. Gimme that pavlov candy for doing cool shit, don't hide it.

Makes sense, just judging what I'm seeing right now, though. Either way I hope it's not in the final build.

Of course it's all a matter of taste. Personally I'm just getting a bit tired of so many games (especially shooters) throwing numbers and praising words at the middle of the screen. I prefer just seeing things thatare relevant to me in the match and in that current situation. Anything else is generally useless and just obtrusive.

Watched a few more of the newer leaked videos.
I really like how people are now learning how to use the wall run/double jump to their advantage.
Really cool to see someone escape certain death from a mech with a well timed wall run.

This game just looks fluid and really fun to play. I got my front row seat on the hype train for now.

if Dice can copy the right mechanics from this game, the next battlefront game should be something special!

saw a few gameplay vids, it looks kinda eh. If valve were developing, it would retail for $24

y'all should be ashamed
The lack of people using all the newfangled wall runs and dynamic jumping reminds me of Bioshock Infinite...you could use the skylines, cover, bring new elements into the level using those psychic tear thingys, and basically have an experience that's never been done before in a shooter...or just play it like a standard fps and bypass all that.

The thing with Infinite is that I had fun for the first few hours using those skills...but in the end I just run and gunned everything. Hopefully that won't be the case with TF. In day one anyways.

Yeah, it really is amazing. I think the parkour stuff adds a lot to combat, and I think as the game goes on, you will start to see more and more crazy things happen as people start to become better at traversing. Thing is, the learning curve for all this is really quick. I was able to wall run and climb buildings fluently within the first hour of play.

What is the control scheme for this game? By watching the videos, it looks like LB is cloak, RB is grenades, and the triggers are aim and shoot. Does that mean jumping is A? For a mechanic that is so important in this game, I figured it would be placed on the bumpers instead.

Haven't played this yet but bf4 and kz4 are far from incredibly smooth to me.

I think compared to past fps multiplayers on consoles, they were a large step up. I'm a PC gamer, so of course I wasn't saying they were smoother than that. But it was a pretty large jump for console mp gaming. Killzone Shadow fall's MP isn't locked at 60 fps at all time, and runs at variable fps. So I agree it's not constantly smooth they way it could be. But for the most part when its hitting 60 it definitely feels smooth.

Battlefield 4 has been really smooth for me, but it seems like most of you are disagreeing me on that one. I know that the game has issues, and crashes a lot. But honestly, on the X1 version, I rarely had fps issues, or crashes. But like I said, I'm going to stop talking about it. I feel like I'm shouting at a wall. This alpha to me, has a lot of fps issues, but other players on GAF are saying they don't have those issues, and one even said that it's the smoothest game they have ever played since PC gaming.

So yeahhhh

Going to just go play some Titfanfall.

In the videos I've watched, the people running around on the ground like it's COD, are the one dying every 20-30 seconds.

A makes more sense than the bumpers. Then again they have multiple controls to choose from.

Haha, I can't believe they brought back Martyrdom, except that your Titan goes nuclear instead of dropping a grenade.

I saw that, although now its quite a bit more obvious when he's about to go nuclear, he's got a big "omg I'm about to explode better get clear" warning.

I mustve been the only one that liked martydom. I really hate when your blasting a guy point blank and he knives you after you unload half a mag into his chest. Hate that in Ghosts.

Yeah pretty much. I find that it's really easy to escape though, unlike martyrdom. It's good for killing pilots on the ground that aren't paying attention, and get stuck in the radius. But when I'm fighting a mech, and all of a sudden it starts to glow a big bright white light, I just bail the fuck out of there. Dat back boost.

Crashes aren't a thing anymore outside of server, which is rare in its own (Xbox still gets random crashes as opposed to the other platforms although much less frequent),
If someone says the game isn't smooth, they would mean FPS, which it isn't for me at least, i dip to about 45 regularly, but i am at about 55 a good portion of the time, although some maps will guaranteed give you a dip, as well as during levolution.

A = Jump
B = Crouch
Y = Change wapon
X = Mostly reload, sometimes enter/exit/eject titan

LB= Skill/ability thing, you decide from class
RB= granades
LR = aim
RT = fire

RS = melee

Guess I haven't played it enough, so I shouldn't have said it was smooth. *shrugs*. But at least to me, it was a major step up for console FP mp. I felt a lot fuckin smoother than the past gen. But not smooth compared to PC fps (which I had gotten used to).

But oh well. I feel frustrated talking about something that no one agrees on. Hah. I'm out.

If you mean compared to other shooters for sure its smoother, without a doubt compared to last gen, thats inherently clear.

So almost exactly like COD, I see. I'll just have to take people's word for it that A works for jumping and thrusting while you're simultaneously trying to aim.

I just hope the Tactical layout is included in the game. But now that I mention it, I don't think prone is in this game, is it?

It works perfectly. At least with the Xbox One controller.

I would say that it feels like the perfect match of Halo, CoD and Brink.

Angel City looks like so much fun to play on. Respawn clearly knows how to make maps, and I would expect nothing less.

Yes, it a lot of fun due to the fact that there is always something happening.

It's not even annoying tbh.

I remembered an article comparing it to even a Mario game. If this controls as awesome as a Mario game... wow.
It's a good comparison. The movement is crazy dynamic but so frickin simple and fluid.
Also kinda funny, because you can legit jump back and forth up the walls of an alley, like mario would.

People who think EA didn't expect footage of this to leak are naive, or must be assuming EA is phenomenally naive. This is going to be their latest stable XBone build with the alpha tag a built in defense-force for any potential negative reactions of one of the most heavily marketed titles in some time. The presence of textures at 25% resolution paired with rendering frame drops is clear evidence of major performance issues on the XBone at full resolution. It's what you get when your flagship target is a console yet all development and demos are being done on high end PCs.

This all just feels so similar to Diablo 3. The enormous hype months before launch, people initially jaw dropped by the beta shortly followed by more sober objectivity slowly setting it and then defense force along the lines of "It's only a beta. This will definitely change by retail. Judging it based on this is LoL. We're under a super secure NDA - Actiblizzard has no doubt Xxx4Twenty4LifexxX is going to have absolute respect for his NDA which he surely carefully studied before accepting and digitally signing."

The game looks just about as I expected which is to say a perfectly passable and very "casualized" shooter (don't expect the AI to start kicking ass and taking names - they have a purpose and it ain't killing) which should definitely be more than enough to give people their fix next until TNBT is announced. The benefits of being realistic with your expectations instead of buying into absurd marketing hype. The same hype that now has now left the dev/pubs in a situation of having to claim that a demo put out 2 months before the title is going to be on store shelves is actually just an alpha.

In a nutshell - props to the Titanfall team. Boo to the marketing and boo to the players that bought into it. WYSIWYG. It's a decent looking early launch title and I'm sure plenty of people will have a lot of fun with it.

They would have to buy Respawn to make that happen if they want it only on their platforms.
Respawn would be a crazy good acquisition for them if they agreed to friendly terms with the studio.
If it sells up to 10 million like Pachter predicted, I can imagine it would be hard for Microsoft not to try haha.
