Sure, when the ads aren't in my face and annoying like they are on Rev3. GAF is, of course, worthy of my whitelist. But I think it's dickish for a website to stomp it's foot and DEMAND I turn it off.

Fair point, don't think I've ever been on the Rev3 site so I don't know how obnoxious the ads are. Don't think I'll be staying up til midnight to watch Sess either, but it should make for some interesting reading tomorrow. New thread maybe?
Sorry man, you obviously get it. I just worry when I see juniors mention adblock. Too many don't read the ToS and get themselves banned!
Never seen the bosman show....I like it. Are all these episodes this entertaining?

Most episodes are more entertaining as they have zany antics but this one didn't because of the shortened editing time

Always. Bossman is the only person that's seriously humble about what he does as well as he understand gamers.
It had entertaining jokes and the guy is very likable. I also had no idea bout the valve controller having buttons (where is that gaf thread?)
....I know what I'm watching tonight.
Gonna be interesting to see Sesslers view on this.

I don't know, but if he at all dares defend this, he's lost the last shred of credibility he has in this industry after the ball caressing he has been doing since the systems have been revealed.
Fortunately, I have to imagine Sessler is more sensible than that - at least he has been in the past.

Last shred? Come on. He's said a few dumb things (especially adding PS+ into total cost), but I think he's just been trying to stay as neutral as possible.

This an argument for another thread really, but Rev3, like any other video content creator, lives and dies on those ads, for the most part. Hulu added subscriptions and the like, but they still have them.
They're stamping their feet because without ads, they explode. Fact of life.
Anyways, this topic is pretty nearly reaching LTTP:999 levels of the amount of threads on here.

First Microsoft said that this was a usual deal. Now they're saying that they didn't know it was happening. I'm glad this news is still getting spread out. News stories are popping up all around the world now.

I doubt they ever will.
However looking at some of the comments from those who put up the videos they are really working overtime to defend their position and decision to use the promotion to make a few bucks.
A lot of them are being raked over the coals, and have removed the tags but done little else. (However Youtubes caching returns their results still with a tag search)
But adding the disclosure? Too much work.
MS really oughta lean on Machinima a bit harder, they are still liable.

At this point it doesn't matter, as far as the FTC/law is concerned, the damage is done. The illegal activity has already been completed and they've reaped the "rewards" of said activity.

But with the disclosures added afterwards they reduce the likelihood of penalty through plausible deniability, that is provided the content creators follow the instruction, without their help, Microsoft continue to be on the hook for an ongoing infraction, rather than a past event.

The problem wasn't monetization, it was the lack of the legally required disclosure,.
At what point were these nintendo streamers contractually bound to not disclose their endorsements? But it's the same thing....
Can you assure me with 100% certainty after this incident that every streamer on youtube is disclosing their endorsements?
