Perhaps I should clear up my initial reaction, the gameplay looks okayish for now, but I'm not feeling the character designs and I don't want THAT moving forward as main cannon.

Oh god.

It's essentially another sonic adventure game.

Well, I'm out. Shame that this "3 nintendo exclusives" deal turned out to be a complete waste of time.

It's nice to know consumers rather have every game on the Wii U bomb rather than actually succeed making the problem bigger for the Wii U on third party relations.

I already bought one terrible sonic game for Wii U. As the saying goes, fool me once...

Possible. Also anyone that thinks Sega isn't putting a Sonic game on Nintendo platforms, regardless of how well it's selling, is insane. Which I assume was meant by the original Sonic Team working on "next-gen"comment. Arguably the Mario audience is the Sonic audience for the most part. Lost World had a bad start but I do recall hearing sales did pick up afterward and during the holiday season.

well as far as I recall, the wii U version of Sonic racing transformed sold the better than its ps3/360 counter parts so I guess Sega isn't really scared about developing Sonic games for Nintendo.

Anyways, those models look terrible, specially knuckles

After the complete disaster that was Sonic Lost World, I have no hope for this.

I've heard mixed things, was it really that bad? I'll probably pick it up sometime when I get a Wii U just cause I'm a Sonic fan and it looks like it could be fun.

Seriously people, look past the redesigns for a second and look at the game we're getting.

What I'm seeing is another fractured experience that ultimately waters down the better aspects of the game. Along with that, I see them only using speed as set pieces for flash instead of integrating it into consistent gameplay.

I'll gladly be proven otherwise. I'm serious.

Remember when people were hyped for Sonic Lost Worlds, and it turned out to be hot dogshit?

Maybe this will be the reverse of that?

Wow, we are not even going through the normal Sonic Cycle phase here, that is most worrying.

Well, they've certainly did something different this time around. I guess not even the most diehard fan actually expects anything good out of it.

Reverse cycle incoming? Maybe it will be a gem.

It really wasn't that bad. It just wasn't on par with Colors and Generations, which were great.

This is gonna be the one guys! Just like the last 6 Sonic games, this will be the one to make Sonic good again! I can feel it in my chillidogs!

Unleashed was good.
Colors was great.
Generations was excellent.

This Sonic Cycle/"Sonic has sucked for years now" bullshit needs to stop.

The character models look so wrong, but this looks like one of the more unique Sonic games so i'm cautiously keeping my eye on this.

I'm betting on All4One levels of suckage

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

It IS that bad.

I loved--LOVED--Colors and Generations. So much fun. I had high hopes. I played the game for an hour and then sold it. The controls are horrible, there's no real sense of speed, and it's incredibly frustrating. Just a terrible game. Biggest disappointment of last year for me.

Character models aside, I did like that trailer. It's like an N64 game brought to modern design. I'm not a much of a Sonic fan, so this is like an outsider's opinion.
Id need to see more honestly. The game could be alright in a Vexx/Dr Muto/*insert b-tier ps2 platformer here* sorta way

Still really disappointing after the last few titles but i dont think its "2006 levels of bad" or anything yet.

It's an on-rails platformer. Don't expect a Sonic and you'll only be mildly let down. It's more akin to the Sonic 2 Special Stage made into a full game. Except slower most of the time

It's mixed. Some people really like it, some people don't. I personally don't.

Agreed. I'm seeing nothing but the bad aspects of the adventure games.

Agreed. Don't know what they were thinking with those designs, and I'm not even a Sonic fan. You can change things, but you should never go full retard.

Well, let's face it: Sonic is not really all that popular anymore and Sega wants to change that. What we think of the character designs is utterly irrelevant, since it's children who are supposed to like it. The remaining few Sonic fans of old haven't really helped making games like Sonic Generations a success, so it's time to try something more radical.

And, well. I still remember when Skylander's got announced. People complained about how incredibly ugly the characters looked like, were angry what they did to Spyro -- and we all know what happened. Kids love that shit endlessly.

Had to let it play through a couple times for the quality to increase, but I got these:

Looks crap and I can't believe that Sega and Sonic Team approved this crap. Duck the redesign the show and game.

This is on the same level as DmC.

I feel the same, I'm just being optimistic.
Sonic Team has issues with having good ideas and implementing them properly
Fortunately, Sonic Team is not working on this.

I'll wait until we see actual gameplay, and then probably eat crow, but I feel like another shot at the Sonic Heroes formula could be alright.

The trailer has too many cuts in the gameplay to get a feel for what they're trying to achieve here. There's speed, combat, co-op etc...

Hm thats pretty sad to hear. I'll probably play it anyways just to form my own opinion.

But again, I'm so confused why they took the winning Unleashed formula and tossed it to the curb.

Not really, though there are flaws and it could have used more polish with the Parkour system.

To break the Sonic cycle they must first break the hope of even the most insane Sonic fans. Unfortunately, somehow people are finding a way to defend this godawful design. Don't act like this won't be the 13th annual "Sonic to Save Sonic Games!" game.
Yes, some of those games weren't terrible.

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
I'm optimistic about this one. But I need to see a trailer of a bit higher quality than 64Kb/s
