Uhhh...
Crackdown: Free roaming/sandbox action game.
Bullet Witch: More like a third person action game.
Def Jam Icon: Fighting game (yes, really!)
Earth Defense Force 2017: Shooter, yes. Can't disagree on that. It's third person though.
Shadowrun: Same story.
Ghost Recon: Advanced War Fighter 2: Tactical team-based shooter. That's quite a bit different from the average shooter.
Haze: Now this is a true shooter.
Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway: Same with this one.
Mass Effect: Uhmm, it's an RPG actually...
Stranglehold: Yeah, though it's third person and plays differently from most shooters. More like an action game.
Too Human: No, it's a third person action/adventure game.
Army of Two: Arguably, though it's third person and leans strongly on teamplay.
The Darkness: Yeah it's a shooter, but a really unique one with a horror backdrop
Turok: Another true shooter.
Bioshock: Well uhmm, sort of. But it's actually much, MUCH more than just a regular shooter.
Medal of Honor: Airborne: Yup, a shooter.
Rogue Warrior: Not completely sure on this one, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
Half-life 2: Orange:Uhm yep, a shooter.
Kane & Lynch: See Army of Two.
Mercenaries 2: Nope, free roaming/sandbox action game. That's not exactly a shooter.
Huxley: Yes, it's a shooter, but with a MMO concept.
Grand Theft Auto IV: Again, free roaming/sandbox action game.
Timeshift: Yep, shooter.
Unreal Tournament 2007: Here's another one.
Halo 3: Can't get anymore shooterish than this.
Well, that leaves us with EDF, Shadowrun, Haze, BiA, The Darkness, Turok, MoH, Rogue Warrior, HL2, Huxley, Timeshift, UT2K7 and Halo 3 as far as traditional shooters go. And there's still quite a bit of difference between these titles. So yeah, I don't know what some of you are complaining about really.
