"I asked God to take these struggles and to help me carry these burdens," he said. "And I found freedom in that."

Truly disgusting how people like this preach personal responsibility for everyone else, then try and use religion as a get out of jail free card when they get caught in a sin.

The day one of your scum bag politicians actually goes to fucking jail over their blatant corruption will be the day.

Actually, the state has been on a streak of having politicians do some hefty prison time.

Don Siegelman, Democratic Governor in the early 2000's, was in and out of prison (appeals were wonky), before service 4-5 years after 2011, and was just released in February.

Larry Langford, Democratic Mayor of Birmingham in the mid 2000's, is still in prison, with release coming sometime in 2023.

Mike Hubbard, Republican Speaker of the House, was just sentenced to 4 years, but is somehow currently free on bond.

It's almost like there's some kind of bias at play in the sentencing of these individuals. I just can't put my finger on exactly what it is though...

Well, Langford got busted by the FBI with like over 100 charges, and he fought.

Siegelman was already losing his reelection, but kept going during the trial and seemed to fight the charges. He was involved in the demise of Healthsouth.

Hubbard was good old fashion money laundering thru Casino's. Probably could involve Bentley in on some of these. But still, was "only" about 23 charges. I laughed at this when I read it:

Two months after his felony indictment, Hubbard won reelection in a landslide and was reelected Speaker of the House on a 99-1 vote

fucking state.

I read somewhere that the mistress still lives with her husband who keeps defending her innocence and that the couple even traveled with Bentley to Trump's inauguration.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?

It's great! You can be always aware of your immorality while still denying it's your own fault. Now you can always blame your screwups on a dark, shadowy, evil personification of evil thanks to the white redeeming light of whatever you want God to be!

I guess when it comes to certain politicians, as long as you say that you prayed to Jesus and asked to be forgiven, and that have you looked towards your family for help, then all is a-okay and no one cares that you're an adulterer.

They swore in another typical 'planned parenthood' is evil, God-fearing repub.

I heard an anchor on locals news ask "how did we get here?" Who the fuck voted for him, twice?

Looking at pics of them I seriously question the taste of Rebekah. She's in her 40s, married with kids and she's turned on by Montgomery Burns. Has to be mind control.

I don't know why celine dion is in this picture but ignore her.

From what I read her and her husband had financial issues and the governer got them both high paying jobs with the state. So it seemed to me like this was more a money and power thing for her. I doubt she was into banging mister burns but she had to keep that money rolling in.

Gasp! No way!

The impeachment investigation report – which was compiled by a special counsel appointed by the legislature – concluded that the driver’s license office closures were politically motivated and ordained by the aide at the center of the scandal, Rebekah Mason, as a way to pressure state legislators into getting in line in support of the governor’s funding legislation.

Former Alabama Law Enforcement Agency head Spencer Collier, who oversaw the operations of the offices, told the impeachment investigators “that Mason proposed closing multiple driver’s license offices throughout the State and asked ALEA to put together a plan,” according to the report.

“It was Collier’s understanding that Mason intended the plan to be rolled out in a way that had limited impact on Governor Bentley’s political allies,” the report continued.

"baby... If you loved me you'd close those silly DMV's in the predominately African American areas."

That's just how they do it.

Blame free will isolationism for all of the "bad people," but when it comes to themselves, it's a sin, a botch, a mistake, it's some problem that goes beyond the self.

What a bunch of fuckin' clowns.

I think there's a four letter word used in certain circles that would describe this behavior.
