Autumn Anime 2017 |OT| Makes us all rotten

Bangin job BGBW. Last season was quite poor for me, only watched Fate and Kakegurui about half way through. Couple of sequels this season, so I think based on that alone, there may be a little more of my input on here.

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Also taking into account his complete absence from the OVA, it certainly does seem that Santa is completely removed from the anime. I guess his entire arc is pretty detached from the main events that make this a Negima sequel, but it is kind of disappointing.

Well Santa isn't a very important character. He sticks around but never does anything.

That was the horny cross-dresser. At least I think that was the premise, I never watched more than 1 episode and it didn't even have subtitles.

Otherwise known as Beast in a Skirt. I never seen a single episode but the manga was rather decent, as far as Borderline-H goes.

Chances are there will be a 4th season since the series sells a lot. They are waiting for more source material to adapt since it's close to the manga.

There are about 80 unadapted chapters now. Maybe when it eventually comes back they'll do two cour again.

UQ Holder 1

Okay I finally watched this and Akamtsu might not be the best artist in the universe, but it's better than this. Looks real bad, but the basic plot seems the same. Will continue on for whenever Kirie shows up.

UQ Holder - So its a Negima sequel. I vaguely remember enjoying the one Negima show I saw ages ago. A fun little harem show. UQ Holder...I guess its more of a Fighting Shonen, which I normally steer clear of. Lets see how long i last.

Even reading the wikipedia entry, questions I have about the show connections are not really answered. But with a whole switching publishers thing I guess continuity was bound to be a mess.

Josei short from last season.

I wish crunchyroll would pickup these josei shorts for once. That said I'm sad that the only josei we get these days are these shorts.

I am still amused that we are getting borderline porn 5 minute shorts.
and no one wants to pick them up because they are to adult lol.

Meanwhile full on super ecchi shows are perfectly fine. I guess there's a line somewhere between Hybrid x Heart or The Testament of Sister New Devil and this.

Negima is a fighting shonen also. Akamatsu had to trick his publisher into it by telling them he was making a making a comedy series about a magic boy and his huge harem, except a few arcs in the entire harem turned into a battle harem and Negi was literally shooting beams at bad guys.

Negima is the stock image on TV Tropes entry on "genre shift."

From what I saw of teacher thing, that's not what I would call "borderline"

That might have been true of the manga, but that's not really how I remember the anime I saw. Of course it probably just adapted the stuff prior to the genre shift. And that reminds me of Rosario+Vampire, where the manga did the exact same thing, which bummed me out.

None of that stuff ended up happening in the anime because the anime covered like 1/6th of the actual series.

The problem is that it's not really known how they're going to do UQ any justice given it very heavily leans on Negima for the plot. I assume they're going to just change the plot entirely for it because it would be dumb if they just hoped you read a 355-chapter series for the anime to make sense.

A weird request I keep hoping will come true but have no reason to ever expect is a random final season of Ah! My Goddess. The manga finished after like 26 years and had an actual story and resolution of the plot.

Osomatsu 2 Episode 1

The GOAT comedy anime is back

That was fucking hilarious. A lot of parallels to the first seasons episode one but without all the parodies that (seemingly) got the them in trouble last time, but it still felt fresh.

It's amazing what a difference quality direction can make. After seeing so much poorly storyboaded shit recently, it's nice seeing how important framing and creative interpretation can be. Unlike earlier episodes, I felt the anime original material really added depth to some of the emotional moments and made the whole episode feel more cohesive than it might have been otherwise. The most emotional moment for me wasn't even the Mitty 'death' scene but rather the balloon traveling upwards, which was an analogy for Reg and Riko's trip downwards. I thought the music was especially good in that part.
Knowing the most recent cliffhanger in the manga, I'm glad there probably won't be a second season and this will serve as a solid climax by itself.

LTTP: Gamers! Ep 12.

Aka. NeoGAF the episode. Doesn't need more explanation, it's just like a NeoGAF thread.

Only if you want it to be. I see Rebellion as just "one possible future" of the original TV series ending. It's fun to keep guessing on what could happen after Rebellion too though.

While I've pretty much gotten over my intense Rebellion hatred at this point I still do want a sequel to it, just to see them explore those possibilities.

That and I just want to see more Madoka in general.

Nintendoman do me a favor, if you like mecha anime so much go find every silly name that anime and manga has come up for their own property's mecha so they didn't just say Mecha. I want to see a 30 page list of stupid names lmao.
