Decision making at DICE is utterly mind-boggling. Don't know why they're releasing the CQ expansion FIRST. And if it really is limited to DM...not enough facepalms in the universe.

Armored Warfare sounds badass, especially the "biggest map in Battlefield history", although they said that about the vanilla maps and we all know how those turned out--shit tons of wasted space.

The new patch should help revitalize the game, whenever the fuck it drops.





But quite honestly, if End Game DOES include dinosaurs...ALL WILL BE FORGIVEN.

They're trying to get a jump on BLOPS 2, or whatever Acti is calling their Fall CoD sequel. There's less pressure if their schedule slips. And there's far less competition in the Summer than the Fall.

If 16 players means that they won't be in the rotation/don't even support conquest and rush, then I'll be passing on these.

put them in a rotation with Metro, Bazaar and the 3 flag variants of Sharqi, Oman and Karkand, problem solved.

Doesn't look like a map where Rush makes any sense, though I've played very little squad rush in BF3 to really know what the rest of the maps are like there. I don't see how it would work if it's not just a two phase rush map.

I still do not understand the "CQC!? THIS ISN'T BATTLEFIELD!!" complaints since Berlin and Stalingrad were in BF1942. Even then, I recall those two maps (specifically the infantry only variants) being incredibly popular back in the day. Pretty sure I still have an old video of an all-bazooka round in Berlin.

I play on Metro servers where players are automatically banned for using them. For console players it most likely stinks, but I am simply pointing out that there are alternatives and "fixes" for it. Of course mod tools would be irreplaceable and it's a shame that DICE haven't moved on it still.

Truth be told it probably helps immensely that players can choose to buy or leave it. Vanilla servers are still the most populated in Oceania by my reckoning.

The thing I dislike about most CoD maps is that they are all built around horizontal combat. Just slide around the map and things appear in-front of you. If the BF3 CQC maps all end up like that, I am not sure I would be that interested.

If they could make them to be small contained towns with lots of vertical sight-lines and even throw in some Conquest mode in there to keep people moving, then I might have more interest.

Did anyone re-host the video, since it is down now.

More BF3 maps? Sign me up! As a PC gaming Virgin I love it. Also for you gamers that are afraid of BF3 PC the 360 controller works AWESOME!!!!! I am 33 years old and have been a console gamer my entire life. I got BF3 and learned the KB/mouse controls but struggled. I then switched to the 360 controller and REALLY started enjoying the game. I know PC die hards will say I'm full of shit but it works fine. I get more kills then deaths with the controller then when I was playing with KB/mouse so that is good enough evidence for me

Well, I've always loved the infantry combat in BF games. Used to play a lot of Karkand infantry only 64 players back in BF2.

But yeah, if these new maps are only meant for 16 players max...no thanks.

How long will MAVs and EOD bots last in a house full of explosives? Actually, who's going to lay in a corner and camp somewhere in order to drive those? Too vulnerable.

Imagine the MAV trolling if this shipped before the patch (zh1nt0 said patch ships 1st)

People tend to be more focused on soldier shaped silhouettes rather than a goofy, Wall-E ass robot. Homefront had a similar bot with a machine gun on it and people were still slow to react to it.

Buying all of these packs day one. BF3 sports the best mp this gen imho, and I'm hungry for new content. That said, they've dropped the ball schedule-wise. Get it out the door DICE!

i love infantry combat in BF, but i could see this going very wrong. hopefully not.

armored warfare on the other hand sounds glorious.

PLEASE no more single player content. just please. i wont buy it. SP in BF3 if fucking garbage. id much rather play COD single player honestly. fuck co-op too after that broken ass Drop em Like Liquid map. fuck it. co-op is only mediocre anyways.

dunno where DICE is going with any of this. but i could see it going either way here. its sad to image that i can see them souring me on the whole franchise if these expansions are full of bullshit.

try not to fuck it up DICE.

Can't say I'm too hyped for the next DLC. I've had my fill of chokepoint clusterfuck from Seine Crossing, Davamind, and Metro.

The armored one, though? I'm game, but waiting until fall is pretty rough.

For now the Close Quarters pack can go to hell -_-.. Armored Kill sounds good and I hope the last one is like B2K or Amored Kill, no SP or coop thing.

Looks like it could be some sort of survivor mode. Where one player is on the run. Just speculation, so far away.
