Seriously? Wow....well I don't know exactly what to say to that.

Yay equality. Maybe I should let my brother know he should really decide if he's gay or not now. So he doesn't run into any issues in the future.

Fuck you! Seriously!

Who are you to decide or know how others experience sexuality. You're no better than the people who say homosexuality is nothing but a choice.

Don't you see the irony at all??? It's goddamn brain meltdown inducing. Uuuh!

I can remember only Freestyler having that opinion when it was brought up and then Lucario descending on him.

You keep saying that, but you never seem to elaborate further.

I wouldn't say that the opinion is popular among neogaf's homos, but there have been a few gay guys (and more than a few lesbians) I've met in real life who don't consider bisexuals for anything more than fun times in the sack. Trust issues..

you're right, "popular" was the wrong word. didn't want to generalize NeoGAF homos.

Personally I suspect that way more of the population is bisexual than people commonly think. Being bi is easier to hide than being gay, both to yourself and to others.

Pretty much. Gay guys are afraid that if they ever fall for bi guy, one day they'll be left behind when said bi guys feel insecure and need to revert back to the straight persona. Due to the fact that heterosexuality is far more accepted, gay guys feel that when push comes to shove, bi guys will abandon them and choose the safer, more accepted path. Which is true in some cases and that's why there's always this stigma associated with bi guys.

Why is there even a sporting even where players are banned by their sexual orientation? Image the uproar if someone made a heterosexual only softball league.

and backwards douches are afraid that gay dudes are destroying humanity. neither are valid reasons to hold negative feelings towards either group.

backwards douches, though, feel free to harbor hatred towards them.

I am not saying it's a valid reason. I am saying that's how it gets to this point. It's because how messed up our society in general that everyone is now fearing everyone else. Everyone is afraid to get hurt and lash out in one way or another at those who can potentially hurt them.

While this is a possible, partial reason, I think the majority of people just reason like this:

"I don't understand how you can be attracted to your own sex / both sexes, therefore it must not exist and people who claim otherwise are attention whores, confused or sick."

I'm guessing some gays feel uncomfortable with the idea that some people are attracted to either genders? Like some of them think it's not "possible" to be bisexual. As if they were lying or whatever.

Now, I'm not saying all Bisexuals are this way, but there are a few people who do use it as a "fashion statement." Now in the case of not being able to play in the softball league, it REALLY shouldn't come down to orientation.

You realize the same could be said of gays right?

Exactly. I also don't think you can be 50/50 when it comes to homo/hetero - there's always a 51/49 scenario going on. People say they like chocolate just as much as vanilla but I'm willing to be they prefer chocolate (51%) to vanilla (49%).

Hope it doesn't offend anyone. I just don't believe in it. And FWIW, I was involved with a guy for seven years and he's now gone down the 'safe' route and is dating a girl. Guess I was the 49%.

So if someone is 49% gay and 51% hetero, he's simply hetero in your eyes? Even though he's just as well gay? Is attracted to guys? Sleeps with guys? Gets a hard on from guys? Has crushes on guys? Try to see it as "having a thing for blonds". Just because you like blond hair, doesn't mean there's no red head or brunette or black haired person that you can ever find attractive.

If you're basically admitting your attitude is caused by frustration because of a bad relationship, how can you not see that your "bisexuals don't exist" claim is one giant load of shit? How 'bout you just deal with the fact that the bisexual guy just happened to fall in love with another person. And, zomg, it happened to be a girl this time. What a liar!

I never got this. Okay, he left you for a woman, doesn't mean he was doing it to "play it safe" maybe he GENUINELY felt attracted to her. Bisexuals can go back and forth. Just because they go back to the opposite sex doesn't mean they're "playing it safe".

Actually you were both 50/50 until he realized that she isn't a moron like you.

Well yea, but it doesn't have to be 50/50 to be considered bisexuality. Perhaps you just have a different definition of the word. You can prefer chocolate but still eat vanilla ice cream...

It's not really an offensive argument, I just find your reasoning odd =)

I mentioned it prior. I'm not much of a fan of the word Bi-sexual. It's a bit too encompassing for me since it could be used to describe everything from a girl pretending to be into other girls at a party so she can get boys to like her, all the way up to a clearly homosexual dude saying he is it so he can keep some resemblance of heterosexuality in him. It can be quite a bit deceiving if the person isn't up front about exactly what it means to them. Does it mean your willing to be in a relationship? Fling? Casual Sex? Experimenting? Using it for attention? etc. All can fall under Bi-sexual but outcomes are different.

But I also note, acts like this are no different than fools saying "Well your not black enough to join the club". This stupidity needs to be mocked.

What a foolish statement. You should feel bad. Sexual orientation is something like a continuum that spans from heterosexual to homosexual, and some people fall closer to the middle than to one or the other end. Every shred of credible scientific evidence suggests you're wrong to consider sexual orientation a binary system.

Are you serious? Please tell me no.

Edit: After reading the rest of thread, I see you are. Well fuck you. I guess I don't exist then. So if I tell you to go fuck yourself with a cactus it won't bother you, right? And when I say you are the worst kind of chickenshit queer it also won't bother you, right? And when I say you are as bad as a homophobe, it won't bother you, right?

Oh noes, my boyfriend left me for a girl! Get over it you fucking twat.

Go do something useful, like looking up the Kinsey scale, or something.

/rant.

On a lighter note, LOL at the banning of the players. Delicious ironing.

Yeah, that's why I avoid using the label for myself, I generally just say I am not a category, or just generally queer.

It is ironic indeed.

As for why there are "gay" leagues I think is pretty obvious, sports are still a highly homophobic environment so these leagues exist to let athletes be open. Somewhere down the road they forgot that these leagues' only objective is to stop existing some day. This is the first time I've heard this though, all gay leagues I've seen happen to have even straight people some times.

Bisexuality is a tricky issue. I think the mistake is to self-label as bisexual, because they are screwed no matter what. Bisexuals who get in long term relationships with either the same or opposite sex will be seen as gay/straight anyway, and the bisexuals who jump and jump in relationships and never settle just prove the stereotype of bisexuals as unstable, uncommitted people.

Honestly bisexuality is in a league of its own and I haven't been able to "categorize" it (for lack of a better word) in the same level as gay/straight at all.

I still have the outrage. There is a certain amount of stigma against bisexual men amongst the gay community and this is a definite example of that.

For example this douchebag who can fuck off:

Dude, you pretty much explained the very definition of bisexuality, except your conclusion from that is, even if you find both sexes attractive you'll always find one sex a little more attractive than the other (and that little bit would be 1%...the fuck?) so you have to label yourself as homo/hetero exclusive. You dont realise how ignorant that is?

You need to take a look at the Kinsey Scale.
