blue dragon feels and looks to me as if it should've been an action adventure game all along. the story fits that a bit more than a full out RPG. everywhere i go, i just keep thinking. i just keep getting an odd zelda vibe from it when i play.

You know what I take that back. Does any one remember those Yu Yu Hakusho games on the Game Gear? This game reminds me of them.

If it's going to be a long game with pretty graphics on the DS, he'll have to push the DS once more past 2048 Mbits (the new size for ASH).

Looks like the screens came from a TV toy (like Dragon Quest Kenshin a few years ago) called Let's TV Play Blue Dragon, and not from the DS game, which will be show in the next issue.

Hate to do a bump, but I was in the shower and a cool thought just occurred to me. While it'd be great and ideal to see a Blue Dragon DS RPG done in 2D ala Chrono Trigger, I realized that's pretty unlikely. So what I'd really like to see is for Artoon to do something similar to what they did with the Yoshi's Island 2 title screen: http://youtube.com/watch?v=83jpvUwouUA

It's really impressive cel-shading with a cool look and I think it'd fit the game very well.

I'd love that, or they could go for something a la Viewtiful Joe double trouble:

The DS is Microsoft's foot blocking the door of Japan.

DS is Microsoft's "Plan C" for Japan.

Plan A was to throw the Xbox at the wall and see what stuck. Answer - Not much.

Plan B was to get Japanese Developers on board and see if they could push the platform with a couple high-profile games. Answer - not so good either.

Plan C appears to be to piggy-back some franchises that might have appeal in Japan on the top platform over there and see if they can get some carryover with future releases of the franchise on their own consoles. Answer - We'll find out in a year or 2, but I'm skeptical.
