Chrome is really bad now, what's the best navigator atm ?

Best navigator?

Chrome on my desktop is shit. It doesn't load right half the time and I have to reload the page. Or it won't load at all and I have to close the tab and try again. Or it tells me to clear cache & cookies every other day on certain pages (like my novella pages in Drive).

Fucking pissing me off. I uninstalled it and re-installed it and I get the same shit.

Seems to work fine on my Flipbook and my phone, but like crap on my desktop. And it's a new MSI Aegis desktop, all the bells & whistles, Windows 10, GT 1070, blah blah blah.

Firefox is pretty garb too when it comes to memory use.

I have two windows and three tabs altogether in Chrome. It's using up 1GB of RAM.

I've been a Chrome user for years. I've noticed on my ram limited work PC that Chrome's ram usage almost doubles over time, even if the number of tabs open doesn't increase.

I pretty much use the same 11-12 tabs for work purposes (they open at launch), but Chrome still slows to a crawl as it pushes my system near 4GBs of ram.

At home I have no issues, but that's because I have way more ram than I'll ever needed.

Have you noticed any problems with your system that you can directly attribute to chromes memory usage?

I use Vivaldi mostly now.

It uses the same rendering engine as Chrome, and can more or less use Chrome extensions straight from the Chrome web store. LastPass works fine.

Agreed, I'm not a fan of Firefox in memory usage too, it's difficult to find something light, complete and fast enough this days.

Guarantee I'm going to screw up this post? Yeah.
Edge, Vivaldi, Brave. Try each and see which one you prefer the most.

Ahaha, that's a clever poll.

I sometimes get huge memory leaks and disk thrashing on the current version of Chromium browsers (Chrome & Opera) without any extensions.

On Edge, there doesn't seem to be a way to mute a specific tab.

Current version of Firefox seems okay.

There are only like four browsers. Try out Firefox, Edge, and I dunno maybe Opera if you nasty. Pick the one you like.

Dat poll edit, I'm glad everyone will forget about it in the next few hours XD Navigating the internet > surfing the internet though!

I've just tried Opéra and Vivaldi, not a fan, I'm gonna try Firefox and Brave now, If I don't like them, I'm screwed with fucking chrome.

As a web developer, just use Chrome.

In fact, can everyone just stick to using chrome an forget about everything else? Would make my shit a lot easier.

Hey, don't talk shit about Opera! It's an excellent porn browser!

I do web work too and anytime I heard a client wants some version previous versions of IE supported I just get sad

Wow, you guys weren't lying about Edge. This shit feels really fast. Just need to get adblock/greasemonkey plugins on it.

Vivaldi is basically chrome and opera in a beautiful mix. Been using it for a while.
Chrome extentions work.

Mobile, the samsung browser has been excellent.

To be honest, if I wasn't using Chrome, I would still be using Opera or maybe I'd have switched to Vivaldi (Opera "successor").

Thank you. This is the real subject of the thread now.

Also people who call video game levels and environments:

Boards
Sheets
Rounds

Actually, one of my pet peeves is that everyone calls every video game level a "map" nowadays lol. But it's really just an old man yells at cloud thing.

It honestly pissed me off how frequently I have to switch from Firefox to chrome visa versa every few months. Definitely gonna give Edge a chance I honestly didn't give it one at all. If that doesn't work maybe some of the others.

Netscape can stay where it belongs:

In my early childhood.

It was great once, you have to admit. I remember being younger and hearing people arguing about it vs IE. And when I first used it, it really made me a believer in competition.... because wow.

It was great. I remember it going downhill over time, but it was great once.

LOL @ the Poll.

I use Chrome myself on my Windows laptop, Safari does the job on my iPhone.

Yeah, yeah, bookmark sync if I used the same browser, but it's not a huge deal to me. Could always import one way or the other if I wanted. (Might be a way to cross-browser sync anyway with IFTTT or something too.)

Chrome is somewhat of a resource hog, but I also probably have some 20+ tabs open at any given time on my laptop, so....

Chrome was also much worse last year -- there was some memory leak that was causing me to have to restart every couple days. Haven't had the problem as of late though. I'm pretty satisfied with the browser now.

Generally the best plugin/extension support too, with Chrome.

Dunno how good Chrome on iOS might be, but I know Safari on Windows isn't necessarily the snappiest, at least last time I tried it.

Spanish speaking OP?( It's Navegador in Spanish.)

Anyway. I kinda... Like edge. Loading times are a bit longer than on chrome (at least in my experience) but once you are in a site it just feels really smooth. The scrolling in particular is amazing, feels like going from a 30 fps game to a 60fps one when comming from chrome .

But I've gotten some weird compatibility issues with it. The Microsoft Office site of all things doesn't really lead correctly for me when using edge.

Firefox Nightly is really great but I tried again Opéra and I really like it, didn't like Vivaldi as much as I thought I will...
