College Football 2013 |Week 3| Kiffen/Brown Farewell Tour

Status
Not open for further replies.
Fun fact: Saturday was the first day Florida, Notre Dame, Texas and USC all lost on the same day since Sept. 11 1976

Mack Brown said this was a "different Texas team" before the season started. Two games later, DC Manny Diaz was fired.

Pat Haden said "Lane is my coach, 150%" before the season started. But two games in, chants of "Fire Kiffin" echoed throughout the Coliseum, even before the game started.

Welcome to the Kiffen/Brown Farewell Tour.
How long will they last? Place your bets now!

Cal headed into the teeth of their schedule with Ohio State this week and Oregon next week. Those two teams can't be that much better than Portland State, right? *gulp*

What a horrible week for pick 'em. I should give up. I think my picking a team actually causes them to lose. There is enough evidence to prove causality at this point.

Cal played 'em close last year, it's a Cal home game, and OSU's QB is injured to some extent.

And there's not a whole lot of other interesting games to choose from.

Shit, the MOV alone should be worth a point. I bet Oregon puts up 50 on the hapless Vols.

The Oregon game choice last week was a freebie with a "MoV challenge" like you're describing. Figured we didn't need that two weeks in a row :p

I tried to pick games that have a chance to be close or go either way.

Control+F "PSU/UCF." :(

I think the Vegas line started at -3.5 for PSU and now it is -5, which is really close apparently given the fact the home team usually gets a 7 point spot.

But it's ok, I know this isn't the Yahoo!(TM) operation where it would have been caught.

And fuck the AP.

I think you guys have a good chance, PSU is young and has no depth.

Just posting so this thread shows up in my subscriptions and I don't forget about it.

Florida should be the favorite going into the bye. I expect some costly mistakes to be made. Maybe an ACL, or a fulmer cup contestant?

So who is going to replace Mack at the end of this year?

I saw someone suggest Charlie Strong, and the timing just works for him (Bridgewater going to the draft this year).

I can't believe I'm flying across the country for what will hopefully be a boring blowout.

Though honestly, the game was always little more than a convenient excuse to visit my BFF.

Who wants some fun stats on how bad Kiffin is?

USC's defense:
- is 11th in the nation in total defense
- has a +3 turnover margin
- No. 1 in sacks with 11
- has given up only 30 rushing yards in 2 games
- No. 1 in the country in rushing yards allowed (0.57 yds per carry)
- has held opponents to an average of -1 rushing yards on third down carries

USC's offense:
- 115th in the nation in total offense
- 118th in the nation in team passer rating
- the only team in the country to have not yet completed a 20-yard pass. (reminder, this team has Marqise Lee on it)
- scored the fewest points against Wazzu by USC since 1941
- is converting 22% of third down attempts, 115th in the nation

Wasnt Miami hovering around 26 before they beat Florida?

If so than jumping to 15 isnt too big of a stretch

Thank God no PSU in the pick em. I think last year it was almost every week and it was painful to always go homer even though I knew they would probably lose.

Should be a good game this week. Interesting that it is a night game.

Da U is back yo

Except for that whole offense part
