I'm going to be honest, I'd forgotten that we weren't in the "new thread."

Edit: Cyan, I'll promise to do some pro bono legal work for you if you add a "Fuck Tennessee" to the end of the thread title.

Bama is favored by 28.5. What more of a "fuck Tennessee" could you want?!

Chip in to get Cyan tickets to see USC at Cal!

That Carlos Hyde run is still blowing my mind. The NOL trucking goes alongside Greg Jones against UNC for the ages. The Aubbie player throwing that Aggy around like a little ragdoll is insane too.

Might want to mention that the BYU v Boise game is a Friday night special so kids can get their picks in on time.

Which wouldn't be a problem on Yahoo.

Fucking pre-season polls giving Bama and Oregon the edge right now. Thanks, computers, for ranking us #1!

I kept trying to find a way to describe my feelings toward the A&M defense. This morning, it came to me.

Our defense is as effective against the run as King Cnut was against the tide.

After last year's super dumb loss to Boise, BYU has to be pretty angry.

I wanted to make a snarky comment, but that was genuinely cool.

P.S. I hate our band.

At the beginning of the game, I really thought they decided to do a "dualing band" premise with our band on one side of the field and the Arkansas band on the other, slowing marching towards each other.

Except, it was just Alabama's band. All 1200 of them. Arkansas brought <50 members.

Oregon being 3rd in the BCS standings is a joke.

Why? I refer to the chart I posted above. Oregon's opponents have a combined record of 22-27. Their best win is over a 4-3 Washington team that also lost to Stanford and Arizona State. Their worst win is over Cal, a team with a 1-6 record whose only win is over FCS Portland State.

FSU's opponents are 27-13. Their best win is over a Clemson team that has won all of it's other games. Their worst is over Nevada, and even they are sitting 3-4 right now. FSU is also scoring ever so slightly more points per game than Oregon. Even FSU's FCS foe (Bethune Cookman) is at least a quality FCS team. They are 6-1 with their only loss so far to FSU, and all but one of their victories was by at least 14 points.

So, right now, as of the current rankings, how is Oregon better than FSU?

Really, FSU's is 21-12 and Oregon's is 18-24, unless you want to include FCS records (Nicholls State & Bethune-Cookman). I'd like to take out Georgia States, but they sadly are a quasi-member of the Sun Belt. It'd be 22-20 :(

There may be something to Grantham getting fired at UGA. Chip Towers at the AJC just tweeted:

Sometimes no report is a report. Know what I mean?

Several beat writers from different papers are agreeing with him. Assuming that he's referring to the Grantham rumor. Sounds like they may be taking this off week to make some changes. If that happens, I expect Chris Wilson to get promoted from defensive line coach to be coordinator, at least through the end of the year. Then it's Kirby Smart time, and I doubt that Saban could talk him out of it this time with Rodney Garner leaving in the offseason for Auburn. Word was that Smart had agreed last time around, but that Saban had talked him out of it somehow.

If this is all true, then I'm guessing they didn't want this to leak. Word was he's been at UGA today and been working, and probably found out about this when everyone else did.

Still think Smart only goes if there's HC-in-waiting attached to it. Otherwise, it's a slight step down.

But then, he might understand that he needs to prove himself, without Saban around.

Isn't Smart the highest paid coordinator in the country? I doubt he goes anywhere unless it's a HC job.

So we're in unison. It's BVG time again in Athens!

Unless you guys want Willie Martinez.

Yes, you might squeak out a win against a bye. Congrats.
Damn, Florida. Things have gotten bad for you when Texas is dogging you. Texas.

Edit: speaking of Texas, has anyone noticed that StoOge's posting seems to be inversely related to Texas' performance. I think the worst Texas does, the more StoOge posts.

Texas, Florida, USC. Some of the most recent teams to win National Championships. The Mighty have truly fallen.

Though, only one of those has a reason for why they've fallen...

Meh, even comparing our FCS foes, FSU's is better. Bethune Cookman is unbeaten apart from their loss to FSU (they even scored a W over FBS FIU). Nicholls State is 4-3. And yeah, Bama played GA State so that's just pathetic.

I know. Texas should have fired Mack years ago.

Bama hasn't played a FCS team so far this year. Unless you count Kentucky.

As I recall from the article, this chart removes FCS opponents' records from the list.
