Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person that has never really struggled with reading omnibuses.

Yeah but I bet you don't have jacked forearms like everybody using Kipp's medically approved method.

The last page of that issue was Barry grabbing Iris by the arm and forcing her to go out with him. Since it's Silver Age comics, Iris loved it and Barry's new "masterful" behavior. Oh comics.
You think that's. Bad? I just read Daredevil #183 and Matt is just the worst. Heather Glenn is treated like an afterthought by Matt all the time but then she shows up asking Matt for advice as a lawyer to get the reigns of her company back from seedy business guys. She's been looking for purpose, taking business classes

Matts response? Quit and live off the stipend. She balks and he goes " I'll give you purpose....be with me...marry me!"

Matt you're just the worst boyfriend in comics history

I searched on Google "kipp official omnibus reading position". I love that this exists in the Internet

such a lovely day outside, not a cloud in the sky. Kipp should give off that recliner and enjoy the great outdoors!

They either need to stop saying the Dora Milaje are teenagers or stop drawing them like porn stars, so I don't feel like I'm going to hell when I read Black Panther >_>

Can you poorly draw your methods in MS paint for us? Please?

Well, half the time it's just the Kipp method but on a futon. The rest of the time it's just placing the book on the futon in various positions. That said, I'm used to being in weird sitting/reclining positions so YMMV.

Green Lantern #1 - #3: Reasonably interesting start. A couple of points of confusion because I don't have much prior knowledge of the universe, but nothing that cannot be inferred from the dialogue. (Except maybe why everyone seems to accept Hal is around as a ghost - Has to do with him being merged with Spectre I would guess). Some nice looking art and cover pages. The only slight concern, the dialogue at times is a bit corny.

I don't know how you guys can wait 6 months to finish a series...

We tradewaiters are used to it. Not all of us can be ComicGAF 1%ers.

Oh right, finished the Batman Beyond comics stuff like 2 nights ago. Really sucks that the creative team from the 2.0 stuff didn't get a longer run, because that was some good stuff that really felt like they got it. Only real complaint is that
they took a pretty happy status quo that the last run ended up, with Dana knowing the secret and Terry finally getting his relationships straightened out, and then bam! Some mysterious thing that we don't get to know unless I missed something elsewhere has everything all screwed up between everyone out of nowhere.

But yeah, Justice Lords Beyond was fortunately a damn nice way to send the series off at least. Really liked
the crazy kryptonite bat-suit.

Oh my god, Captain Marvel #15. What an absolute gut punch. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes. I wasn't expecting this story at all. It was haunting, beautiful and sad all rolled into one. My heart sank from pure happiness to utter sadness in the space of a single panel. If you have read the first series and now this series I can't imagine this issue not hitting you like a ton of bricks. There is some amazing visual story telling and all around beautiful artwork. Kelly Sues letter at the end just destroyed me.

I'm gonna have to stop reading for tonight.

Oh right, before I forget: is there a particular order I should be reading Daredevil: Born Again, Man Without Fear, and Elektra Assassin? Going to finish up the third Miller DD collection tonight, and I want to know how I should be tackling those...

Well, Man Without Fear is an origin story, but its the last DD he did, so you can probably do that last...or maybe first? Born Again should be last. Elektra Assassin can be in the middle, DD not really in it.

I also want to take the time to recommend a couple of other lowkey Miller DD joints, "Love & War" a one-shot he did with Bill Sienwickiz

and "Elektra Lives Again", with Lynn Varley. Weird as hell, not really in continuity, but I mean...shit is legit

Awesome, thanks!

Edit: Oh cool, Love & War is in the collection, I just haven't hit it yet!
Edit again: But Elektra Lives Again doesn't appear to be included in anything I own, nor anything available for a reasonable price, nor on MU. Darn.

Ok, so, question for the Valiant people. I just finished Harbinger: Omegas. Where does the Harbinger story continue after this, Imperium? I know about the Armor Hunters tie-in but I'm hoping that's skippable.

Shadowland involves a bunch of street level peeps, even ghost rider. I need to check this out one of these days, short event a cording to MU (29 issues)

Did we get you to read Secret Invasion yet? Or Fear Itself?

No and no.

I think secret invasion is one of those 100+ers events which I don't have it in me again any time soon.

I'm sitting here wondering why the thread is on about these shitty event books, and I finally find it's because someone is asking for punishment. lol

Sush you

I'm more focused on series than events for the for foreseeable future anyway.

Almost done with Fraction's FF (which is wonderful) and I want to continue Priest's Black Panther

I was able to put on hold at my library, every volume of Alan Moores Swamp Thing. It's going to jump to the top of my read pile. Pretty excited.

Bullseye, for one

in the same way Bullseye killed Matt's girl Elektra back in the day, with the whole Sai in the heart trick
I just re read that bullseye / Elektra fight today. Man it was so good. It's crazy how much happens that issue. Comics today would stretch that out 3-4 issues. That last panel you showed was 3/4 through the issue

Yeah, I read that like I guess a week or so back (actually for the first time). And it was really, really good.

It is a double-sized issue to be fair, but its one of the GOAT Marvel single issues. Real rich, pulpy pop comic tragedy, with some thrilling sequences and a great narrative structure coming from Bullseye POV and the dramatic irony that we know about DD/Murdock than he does.

True. But not only did their cover not lie, even as a double sized issue it was dense as hell

FF just went full meta by having fraction and allred as a comic book writer and artist in the comic

Allred complete with Madman shirt too :p
