DoA is my guilty pleasure. Partially for the simple, yet fun, lightnight-fast fighting mechanics. And partially for the nearly naked plastic ladies showing ever more polygonal flesh with every kick and flip.

It also doesn't help me that my most shameless fetish is female undergarments. >:/

Curse you Dead or Alive!! curse you...

don't curse it. wear your fetish badge proudly!

:lol the fetish is seeing the undergarments. Specifically on the damsel being viewed. Strangely enough, seeing a pair of knickers laying around on the floor does me no good. I think it's like... more of a voyeur thing? I dunno... DoA is the only decent game that combines my interests of kicking some ass, and seeing women's underwear simultaneously. Must. Have. Portable. Combination. Of. Interests (!)

I'm sure Hayashi's remix will be way more pervy than anything Itagaki ever did.

Shorts say otherwise. But maybe Hayashi's more of a breast man.

I really enjoy the DoA series despite how horribly unbalanced it is. I like that the controls don't involve any of the pointless QCF HCB 360 motions most fighting games do, and it's easy to string moves together.

Will probably pick this up. Many fond memories of DoA3 with friends.

Three was also the last good DOA game. It was also Tom Brady's crowning achievement. If you guys even remember him. lol
of course i remember Tom Brady, can't ever forget that guy! he came to my apartment with JOP and EddyPistons to play VirtuaPai, Smithy and myself in DOA3 back in the day!

DoA4 looked decent. I keep hearing shit about 4. What kind of gameplay changes were there? Anyway 2 was the one I played the most anyway, so if it's like that, all the better

WAT?

2: Ultimate would like a word with you. As it's basically DOA2 on the DOA3 engine with some upgrades.

(That said, 3 was fucking fun and my first DOA)

honestly, the ESRB just got tougher on scantily clad women. i blame Hot Coffee.
I kinda understand the Xtreme games as the point was the scantily clad women and excessive physics, but not the fighting games (where there isn't excessive physics)

4 was alright, but the timing changes fucked it up. 3 was definitely more fun, and more frantic. To me, DoA is at its best when it doesn't take itself as a serious fighter. Sure there is some depth to it (not nearly as much as some other titles though), but it was more about having fun, without all your friends needing to be masters at fighting games.

Holy shit, another DOA alumni. What a rarity.

I couldn't get into 4 like I did with DoA3 and Ultimate. The difficulty was too off the mark to the point where it wasn't fun. Made unlocking extra costumes unbearable. Sames goes for DoAX2 as a matter of fact. Why the fuck was that game so hard?

Wonder why it's so sluggish looking.
Maybe the girl playing is kinda bad at the game?
The last DOA i played was the DC one, so I have no idea how is supposed to look.

Hope it was just the video endoce of that vid. DOA looks so... slow, like it's running on 30fps instead of 60fps. They shouldn't have any troubles seeing that Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur on PSP ran 60fps smoothly.

All man!

LAUNCHERS! NORMAL LAUNCHERS WITH NO STUNS!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't be more excited now...if that was just the encoding, because that looked slow as fuck.

But, yeah, looks more like Pre-DoA4 DoA, which is awesome.

Don't think so. Even in the close up, it looked like it was running slow. They've still gotta few month to clear things up, but it does make me wonder if they're gonna release it in 30FPS instead of 60FPS because of this. I'm scared for SSFIV now. If that's not running at a rock solid 60FPS, no buy.

Some Japanese guy that played ssfiv at the Nintendo conf said it was running at 30fps.

I'm a big DOA fan, but that doesn't feel like DOA to me, DOA is about speed and good controls, I can't comment on the controls but the speed is lacking, I hope they can fix it.

I think it's the cam footage that makes it seems slower.

Kind of like how recording the television with your cell phones camera will give you weird scanline-ish things with refreshing images every few seconds. A bit here since it's a 3D screen and all.

No way Team Ninja would let something like that out to the public, no matter how early it is.

This is one sexy game. Got home tonight to find a new costume waiting for me on spotpass. Sweet. Does run better on 2d though.
