Yes, the threads about the state if the forum are becoming self perpetuating, circular logic. Hopefully in a few weeks, things settle down.

To my recollection, some of the people involved were banned, but the damage had already happened. It was sad to see Shinobi leave because of that.

I'm logging off for a while. I want to see GAF return, but don't like the state its in. Feels like that voat cesspool. I hope it recovers. GAF is bigger then one person.

Really want to talk about Mario Odyssey with everyone. I guess we will see what Friday looks like.

Agreed. Even though my time here recently was at an all time low, I still browsed the gaming section a few times a week. Everything should be fine once the dust settles.

Yeah, until the other forum is up, people will continue to clutter the forum. After those have left, there will probably be some clean-up work mods have to do and then it should be fine.

I come here for the gaming news and discussions and I’ll stay here because of them. The allegations against the site owner have been unsettling to say the least but I don’t feel they damage the credibility of this place as a place to discuss video games. I’ll try to stay and post here for as long as I can since I feel that GAF is still the best place to discuss video games. Having said that, I don’t feel like this place will ever return to its former glory.

I feel like the worst trolls will run out of steam by tomorrow, there are only so many accounts to sacrifice. Time will take care of the rest, but this place should be significantly more readable soon enough.

Hopefully in about a week or 2 all the ones that wanna leave will be banned or just logout by then and we can get back to being GAF. Also if that other site works out then we will have 2 threads to get our news from =P but yeah im here to stay.

Yeah this forum is just too good to follow gaming news and discuss the games, I'm not leaving just because of some allegations, it's a situation of innocent till actually proven guilty. From personal experience I know full well the insane things a psycho ex can try to make the world believe about you and it's so frustrating.

The problem is GAF has been two communities for several years now- those who value games first, and those who value social and political discussion first. The latter achieved total power over the former, cowing the games-first crowd into silence. This sudden reversal is completely inorganic. The schism still exists in our community- just look around at today's threads.

NeoGAF must decide, as a community, if it wants to put games or politics first. And I fear the decision was made years ago. We're just living through the aftershocks.

For me, NeoGAF is the premiere gaming discussion forum and an indispensable source for all my video game news. I'm very happy it's back as life is not the same without it. :)

Why not let the court system take care of that if actions need to be taken.

Same with the latest allegations...it is not that I refuse to believe he did it, if he did, does it mean the entire Gaf has to be burn down? That are way worse shit in life.

I agree. GAF is too bipolar though, the one downside I couldn’t understand on why people are are two extreme spectrums in tastes, politics, etc, never a middle ground.

From what I can see there is no doubt he did it, it is common knowledge and he offered no rebuttal

If your ok with that fine - but you still ok if thats your daughter, your sister, your Mother?

Getting video game news more important than taking a stand and saying 'thats not right'?

Yeah, I posted that in the "The state of NeoGAF" thread earlier. It's really a shame and I think it stems mostly from the fact that this is a US-centric forum where really only two parties exist while mantras such as "you have to have a position" and "if you aren't with us, you are against us" are repeated ad nauseam via the media and through other channels.

There are many things I am not ok with. Look, I know eating MacDonald contributes nothing to my health and honestly does more harm than good, but I still eat it time to time. I am also not ok with how certain people treat me (like in the family) but I don't cut them out and stay away from them. So who knows, maybe I have a weak mind.

I think there are degrees of what's "acceptable" and what is not and that is different for each person. I am not saying I all he did was ok in my book though.
