My issue is the denial of dog whistle racism. To many if its not the nazi's or the KKK we gotta give it the benefit of the doubt! Where you can bring in statistics on education, incarceration, poverty levels and they are cool with it...but assuming a singular incident might have a racial connotation its like, "WOAH WOAH BRO, RACIST? GOTTA HEAR BOTH SIDES" where every fact faces extreme scrutiny and if the offender isnt found to be sig heiling while doing whatever then it possibly cant be racist.

Its okay if you didn't understand the movie, its a common occurrence.
Cuckolds are "weak." A lot of cuckold-based porn involves racism, in that a "black bull" has sex with the "weak white man's" wife, and in that sense turns the black man involved in the porn scenario into an 'animal' defiling the woman, almost equating it to bestiality in the consumer's eyes.
The general power dynamic is that either an oblivious, schlubby weak white guy is unaware that his wife is being 'ravaged,' or that he somehow gets off on it.
In essence, calling someone a 'cuck' is essentially saying they are weak and cannot properly satisfy their wife.
To add to this, you can transpose this power dynamic into racial politics and international politics as well -
Politicians can be "cucks" by being too weak to 'stand up' to Trump and ending up serving them, like Ted Cruz. They can also be 'cucks' by "rolling over and letting immigrants flood into this country and have sex with OUR white women." It can even be something like "Our president is a cuck, letting foreigners ravage our country and standing by letting it happen."

I honestly think conversations about race are becoming slightly more dishonest and unhelpful. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I used to feel a lot more comfortable talking about racism in my own life and upbringing and now I sincerely find it easier to just move on than sincerely engage.
My hope is that younger people are just truly more evolved than my generation was.

I think that dance is often (obviously not always) between the importance of calling out bigotry when you see it and destroying a person's life for basically not being very sharp in the name of our own vanity.

Why not engage him/her in conversation? Challenge them on their beliefs? You can be someones friend, converse with someone, and discuss things with them while completely disagreeing with everything in their worldview. This is incredibly important if people are ever going to change.
Yes they should be ridiculed for their beliefs, but they should not be outcast from a progressive society. We should attempt to challenge their beliefs and change their minds. Outcasting anyone that voices a different idea than you is wrong.

I can't go with you on the Last Samurai journey because while it does have some issues (that mostly come with having Cruise as the lead, so he's gotta at least get one action scene where he crushes people), that character is way down in the dumps when they bring him to the village. Him teaching them tactics makes sense because he's a hardened soldier, but their culture helped him deal with his grief and become a better person because of it.
Also it was a 140 million dollar historical movie about Japan, and that shit ain't ever happening again thanks to 47 Ronin shitting the bed. Now THERE'S a one with some white savior shit in it

That kind of diet racism reaction strikes me as knee jerk defensiveness for an issue that, as an ingrained cultural issue, has no easy answer. For some reason suggestions for inclusiveness are seen as an attack instead of as honest criticism.
I think people just can't take criticism of things that they like. I think that's what it is coming down to. Why is it so hard to accept, come to terms with, and grow as a result of, some solid constructive criticism? It's like people can't bear to "lose" on any possible level at any time.

He seems to be well aware that roles can be shoehorned in. The notion that including diversity will ultimately lead to infinite shoe horning is what is being contested against.
The historical accuracy argument also doesn't seem to hold up because many media sanitize the actual diversities within their historical/geographical era, aren't really based on history at all, or shoehorn white actors into roles because "minorities wouldn't draw money"
Diet racism tend to not overtly vouch for white supremacy as in"WHITE POWER", but through discrete support for certain outcomes .
Example:If minorities are included, then it's just corporatism's fault and we should resist shoehorning. If minorities aren't included, then that's just the way things are because corporatism
