DJ Hero? Any Hype?

I plan on getting this for the Wii. One again...the only guy on GAF with the Wii version.

I've got 2 x 360s, ps3 and wii and I bought rock band 2 (and also the graphically inferior COD:WAW) for the wii.
I like spreading the love around.

Your profile has a 360 Gamertag.

So why, may I ask, would you buy it on Wii?

Wario is right, but that isn't the only reason...the other being that my brother only owns a Wii. Now that we live so far away I like to get as many Wii games as possible.

The more I see about this game, the more excited I get. Love music games, bemani, etc. Let's just hope someone sees the light and adds lots of electronica/j-pop/bemani-style songs as DLC, as that would be so awesome.

Now I need to decide about the two versions... do I get the expensive one, or the normal one?

GAME. OF. THE. FUCKING. YEAR.

Calling it right now.

Anyone who has visited the DJ Hero channel on YouTube would agree with me.

This is gonna be better than every Guitar Hero and Rock Band game put together.
Damn you.

You owe me 120 bucks.

I played this yesterday, and I like it. It's really nothing like Frequency, Amplitude, or Guitar Hero.

The note charts look simple, but the new things you have to do with the crossfader and that sample dial (in conjunction with the button presses and scratching with your other hand) are what make it challenging. It's like patting your head and rubbing your tummy at the same time. Years of playing rhythm games won't prepare you for DJ Hero (i.e., you will not be great right away). It is really unique, and should be judged on its own merits.

I also really like the soundtrack because it is 'new' mixes of old songs. This is the first music game where I would pay for the music.

Paper planes... I love that song. And the Jay-z/Eminem mix is great.

I'm finally really excited for the game. Add one more sale for the wii version.

Okay. I take back all the bad things I said about this game. This looks fucking cool. But $120 is too steep. I'll wait 'til the price goes down.

To answer the thread title's question: No, no hype at all.

And judging by the lack of threads around this game here at GAF and lack of comments even regarding DJ AM's death, I'd say this is positioned to be a humongous bomba this holiday season. Figure in the reports of it being unintuitive and difficult to learn, and I'd say the future isn't looking so rosy for DJ Hero.

I don't want to shit on the game (haven't played it), but it's an interesting subject purely from a sales-age perspective.

I do kinda want to shit on Activision, I admit.

NO! Why did I watch these videos.

I have been ignoring this game lately, and God damn these videos have brought my interest right back up. I am so tempted to lay down the cash to pre-order this now.

I'm kind of intrigued by this game, but cautious. Not sure of how you actually play it, and if I'd care for it. Wait for reviews and see. Then I'll wait for the price drop, because either way there's no way I'm paying $120 for it.

I am all kinds of excited while watching all of these videos. The game just looks like it'll be rough until it clicks..hopefully it clicks soon.

This. God dammit, this. Was dead set on ignoring this, but now I'll have to have a look. After a price drop, that is.

I'm hyped for this but I'd like to see some videos of the songs that are longer then 30 seconds. So far at my local EB Games I'm the only guy who's pre ordered this. The pre ordered the regular bundle. The LE was too rich for my blood...

Shiiiieeeeeet.

Is there a "quality difference" between the two different turntables... the regular and the renegade edition? I mean, it is all the same parts inside, right, besides a different color scheme? Or is the renegade turntable more heavy duty or something?

Okay, holy shit. Daft Punk brought this from pretty excited but not sure when pulling the trigger to HOLY FUCK DO WANT DAY ONE.

Now to decide whether to get the Renegade edition at Best Buy/Gamestop or the normal edition at Costco. :/

I don't think anything's been announced about it really. Just a quick blurb from the devs saying it's a premium controller.
