I'm enjoying it a lot but I'm glad I held back for now on watching it with my eight year old daughter.

I'm still behind the theory that he's been regenerating since the oxygen/blindess on the space station, he's been fighting it and he's becoming weaker and weaker.

I love Capaldi's growth. He went from "she's my carer, she cares so I don't have to" to willing to die because it's kind. The bigger the hair, the bigger the heart(s).
 
John Simm's Master didn't really have much of a reason to be there did he? A nice little "let's get the RTD audience back" thing.

On the contrary I thought having an old fully evil version of the Master there helped Missy's character arc of becoming good come to nice close.

She literally killed her old self off to help the Doctor.
