Pawn Name: Isabel
Pawn Level: 60
Pawn Vocation Warrior
Addition details: Currently leveling, will eventually be a Strider. Doing regular quests for knowledge/trophies right now. Take my pawn along for bestiary/geography knowledge and let me know and I will do the same for you.

What am I supposed to do with Rift Crystals? I have over 150k but none of the items at the Rift shop look interesting to me.

you will need these for BBI
there will be items you will need to purify with and rift stones that are broken that need to be restored.
Also optional is the higher level pawns.

Pawn Name: Mia
Pawn Level: Mid 40s (not enough time to play :()
Pawn Vocation: Sorceress
Addition details: Mage+Sorc maxed, she will have grand bolide, grand gicel, high maelstrom and probably grand fulmination/grand seism or something like that (sync cast will be amazing)

If someone could take my pawn along that would be amazing. Need the rift crystals. Feel free to add me and I'll take some pawns out as well, especially in BBI.

Also: could anyone who is in post game rent my pawn and gift me a pilgrims charm? I need it for the Valmiro quest, but I accidentally used mine. That would be suuuuper nice. Thanks in advance.

I made it to Daimon and he destroyed me lol. Sucks there isn't a merchant/shortcut to the merchant prior to Daimon.

BBI gives me Dark Souls vibes. It's pretty awesome. I honestly think Deep Down was inspired by BBI.

Surface of Me

I'm not an NPC. And neither are we.
Picked this up on X1 over the weekend. I have about 13 hours in and Im really digging it so far. I feel like Ive barely scratched the surface despite being lvl 26. It did take me a while to figure out a bunch of stuff and I did look at a few guides to help me. Started as fighter and currently a mystic night, wondering if I should switch to warrior. Bit disappointed that mystic knight mainly seems to be for enchanting weapons. Does the magic for that vocation get deeper than that? If not I think Id rather just be swinging giant swords around.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL XD Grigori's dating service is at it again, lolllllllllll

The dragon chose your fated one by who has the highest affinity with you before that final battle quest. If there are several people with max affinities around, then he would simply pick the last one that you commit affinity-increasing activity with, be that a mission, giving gifts, or even by just simply talking.

You have that guy with max affinity and you just had the bad luck to probably talking to him or doing his mission right before launching the final battle quest, so the game recorded him as your fated one.

Hey, at least you didn't get Fournival or Symone, LOL.

Did you enjoy that last bonfire scene?

Lol, I'm not gonna lie this happens to me with the inn keeper, so he ended up moving to my house in cassardis, so it was pretty annoying.

Lol keep em coming Gregori.

True, but it's boring as hell. For Ur-Dragon it's your best bet, but for everything else there are more fun options :)

High Maelstrom is great against packs of enemies.
High Gicel is great against big enemies.

Those two spells are spectacular, and the long cast times mean you have to be clever about your positioning when you opt to cast them. Those two things mean they never really get old :)

If you're desperate for magical holy damage (e.g. BBI), consider switching your Sorcerer to Magick Archer when you get to that point. If you leave BBI to the end then you're probably ready for a change of vocation anyway, and experienced Sorcerers make very good Magick Archers.

Sweet baby Jesus...
the hell hound that spawns on BBI is the absolute fucking worst. His lunge attack is OP af. Any tips for a strider to effectively defeat this abomination?

Morrigan Stark

Arrogant Smirk
Even in BBI?
Well, High Brontide absolutely melts elder ogres and garms, so try that! Plus it's fun as hell to whip things around with lightning.

Dude, mystic knight's later skills are some of my favorite in the game. Trap sigils that launch enemies in the air, magic cannon sigils that choke a PS3 to death, they're lots of fun to play around with.

Even in BBI?

It's one of the most powerful skills for Sorcerer. Heck, perhaps even in the game itself. It's kinda funny though for all the BANG the Sorcerer can produce, the most effective one is actually the class' most mundane-looking attack, hahaha.

High Brontide is such a boss. High Fulmination is also pretty, but generally High Brontide is my go-to Lightning skill.

Can I grab the DLC stuff in NG+, or from Montebank?
I might sell the monocle so then I can buy some better stuff.

I want to buy the Ancient (?) Robes I used on PS3 as soon as I can, because they were awesome.

It looks so cool, but I always found it impractical. I always felt like you needed to be too close to enemies to cast it and still have them in range to actually do some worthwhile damage. If it had been faster to cast I probably would've used it more. High Levin just always felt like a better option.

It just ruins your on-screen vision in BBI :p

I managed to kill Daimon last night by popping some conqueror's periapt and getting lucky attacking his head for long enough without being thrown off.

BBI doesn't half change after killing him lol. Dragons and shit everywhere!

Just ordered the game, any tips for new player ? Thinking to go Ranged (Strider/Ranger/MagArcher).

Wolves hunt in packs!

But to be serious, don't be worried about experimenting with things, especially when it comes to trying out other classes. Playing a sorcerer would help if you want to be a Magick Archer, for example.

I'd personally recommend using a guide to see when different side quests become/stop being available, as there are some that are easily missed, and will lock you out of content. That's up to you though: if you want to go in completely blind, then feel free to do so.

Are sidequest being permanent-locked tied to main story progress ?

Yeah, as you progress through the story, various sidequests become unavailable/are automatically cancelled. A few run all the way through the game (an early one for a merchant is an example), but for the most part, the main story is in steps/stages.

The only real things you can miss from what I remember are a merchant, who you need to do two sidequests for to unlock as a permanent merchant, and a whole area of the game (not a big area mind you, but it's a cool one). A lot of the character development stuff happens in sidequests though, so you should try to do as many as possible.

So I finished the quest where I have to go back to Selene in the Witchwood and fight the golem. After talking to her post-quest I apparently maxed out her affinity and now she's back at my house in Cassardis. WTF? I thought that only happened with your "beloved" after the final missions. Is she locked in already or will it change depending on how I interact with other NPCs from now on?

Nah man, her side quests actually ended that way, she's not your beloved. If you have someone else as your beloved later he or she will stay together with you and Selene too.

Selene will be at your house if you finish her quest line. She can be your beloved, but it's not set yet. If you get someone else as your beloved, both of them will be in your house.

This is some good news, no? Shamon, Capcom... bring on that DD2 for goodness sake!! There's a demand!!

Sometimes in the right place at the right time a great game is made. Or it can sometimes be a short-lived series (Silent Hill 1-3... and maybe 4). I have a fear in the current times/market, Capcom would probably totally mishandle/mismanage and screw up DD2.

Look at what has happened with Deep Down, a game I now actually think after playing BBI was inspired by it. BBI was more fun than the main DD game for me lol. Even it has some shortcomings being DLC, as there is a fair bit of reused assets and room design being identical to earlier rooms. With some more money and time something like BBI could make the basis for a whole dungeon diving game like Deep Down was seemingly supposed to be.

I mean, cmon, DD = Dragons Dogma and Deep Down.

Lost and Found quest expired... Too may hrs invested so too late to start over now.
;_;

If they ever make a sequel they need to at least tell you that if you proceed with a certain quest others will automatically fail.

Quest design was definitely one of the flaws in the game.

Yeah, I (and the world) would be devastated if DD2 turned out to be a DMC2 caliber sequel.

As was backtracking/fetch quest and escort mania. Quests really are not a strong point of DD at all. Hence why BBI going all action, some straightforward plot was fun. It's not as padded having it that way so less play time, but the main game does tip too far to terrible fetch quests and too much running. Mounts should have made an appearance in DD (like horses). Even a game like TW3 with sensible fast travel and POIs everywhere still needed a horse.

Do we even know how much of the original Dragons Dogma team is still at Capcom?

TBH I don't think Sorcerer is particularly well suited to the close quarters of BBI. I changed to Magick Archer for BBI.

Two sorcerers actually wreck. They have good spells for slowing down big enemies/stun locking and poison/holy are musts. Holy especially. That dispel spell is great as well, although you could just carry consumables. High Gicel is pretty damn powerful against big enemies too.

If you mean you changed to MA, then I agree, being a strider/assassin/MA for the main character is best. Targetting weak points is a must for bosses.
