I'd consider buying 1-3 and 8 for iOS. Much rather have 1-3 on 3DS VC or PSN or something instead but I guess I'll take whatever legit version of the game I can get.
I will firmly wait until a Dragon Quest game is finally announced for VITA or a console, in the West.
I'll buy DQ8 of it gets a western iOS release. And isn't priced at 20...
That would probably be an expensive money hat.You know, DQXI on Vita exclusive can resurrect the handheld. But SE would rather go mobile.
I say Sony money hats them now before it's too late like with FFXV!
Or Nintendo should money hat them before it's too late.
Pokemon X/Y
Monster Hunter 4
DQXI
What are you waiting for Nintendo!?
just think of all the young iOS only gamers (ipad, ipod, iphone, etc) who can now play this series!

Chance of some sort of compilations for the 3DS? (Like 1-3, 4-6, 8 on it's own?)
Chance of any of it at all coming to the West?
I feel you, but I'm sad to say you may wait forever.I will firmly wait until a Dragon Quest game is finally announced for VITA or a console, in the West.
Same, it's a testament to how shitty SE became this gen. We're hoping for a DQ8 HD remake/port. Or for Nintendo to pick up SE's slack on find in them to bring over DQ7 3DS sometime during the second half of 2014. Yeaaaa.DQ8 re-release...maybe there is a chance.
Yeah, I know the series goes to the most successful platform, but just saying it'll bring the Vita to life IF it happened.That's... never going to happen with DQ. At least not with how they've historically handled the franchise. Multiplatform is one thing, going for an exclusive on underperforming hardware is quite another.
Meh there just ports SE wants quick money. They could still do a DQ8 remake. I hope.
SE should just make DQ multiplatform (if its affordable). So DQ11 on 3DS/iOS (maybe Vita if it doesn't look too bad).
I think it's funny how people are all up in arms about these announcements. I don't get it.
DQ is now available to a wider market. But it's on smartphones so it's bad?
I think the hate stems from DQVII and DQVIII.What's with all the bitching? Who cares if past games get ported, if they announced the next DQ game was exclusively on phones I could understand the hate but this? Whatever.
Because of MH, the PSP caught on fire and started to get more support and more games in Japan.Monster Hunter dragged the PSP through what might have been rough times. It would be cool to see with DQ, that's for sure.
FUCK.
Why not just remaster Dragon Quest VIII for PS3/PS4/Vita?
If DQVII on cellphones gets localized SE better bring the 3DS version too.
Because that requires effort and money okFUCK.

It hurt more because I played ff type 0 using the Chinese patch lol.... I can't play dq7r in a language I understand.....I didn't noticed this, but 3DS owners must be feeling with DQ7 what us Vita/PSP owners feel with all this Agito/Type-0 stuff. Although al least we are getting positive signs of Type-0 localization.
What if you have both like me?I didn't noticed this, but 3DS owners must be feeling with DQ7 what us Vita/PSP owners feel with all this Agito/Type-0 stuff. Although al least we are getting positive signs of Type-0 localization.
In the end, everyone wins: people who want mobile to be a legitimate gaming platform with quality titles, as well as people who like Dragon Quest.

*cry*
Although SE opened the Pandora's box, Reggie and NoA may be that slight ray of hope DQVII may still get published here.
The people who like DQ but don't like mobile games don't win lol.
I'm really confused by this response in this thread, particularly towards the people saying this is a bad business decision based on Dragon Quest - a Japanese game franchise that typically only sells gangbusters to Japanese - on a platform that is currently the most popular gaming platform in Japan - smartphones. This makes tons of business sense, and 3ds hasn't earned the right for DQXI to hit its shores. While popular, it's not nearly as popular as mobile, and this could very well be the turning tides that turn mobile in to an actual platform that gets A games, as opposed to...C games you play on the toilet that aren't Puzzles and Dragons.

Because quality may suffer and be a major step back from its predecessors...and fall into the evil trappings of IAPs + microtransactions.I'm really confused by this response in this thread, particularly towards the people saying this is a bad business decision based on Dragon Quest - a Japanese game franchise that typically only sells gangbusters to Japanese - on a platform that is currently the most popular gaming platform in Japan - smartphones. Pretty much. As Aeana has repeatedly pointed out, going forward, DQ can't sustain exclusivity and it's a pretty safe assumption to think we'll see more and more games ported to and from mobile. What's with all the bitching? Who cares if past games get ported, if they announced the next DQ game was exclusively on phones I could understand the hate but this? Whatever.
DQ will sell on any platform it appears on. That's just common sense. But where would it sell more? The 3ds? Or the device that practically everyone owns now? Mobile has earned DQXI more than 3ds.
Don't think so. You're the first I heard claim IX was better than VIII!Ah yes, quality. The thing people argued when DQIX was announced for the ds. It couldn't possibly be as good as VIII.
And it kicked VIII's ass. So there's that.
I'd say the Vita would be likelier given that it's smartphone hardware with a smartphone resolution screen.I rather them port these to 3DS and Vita.
