Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen coming to PS4/XB1 (fall 2017)

I suppose I'll double-dip considering this announcement probably means BC on XB1 is never going to happen. I'll buy on PlayStation this time around.

I might double dip if it's 60 FPS and it's a good port. Otherwise, the PC version is the definitive version of the game if you ask me.

Oh My!

Cannot wait for this. Played the base game for days on end but never finished the Dark Arisen stuff.

Game has some of THE best combat of any RPG.

Have to resist muting all my pawns when they repeat the same shit 10,000 times.

Is there more DD comedy comics?

Ahhh, I really don't wanna triple dip, I had it on PS3 but had to stop cause my PS3 stopped taking blu-rays then I bought it on pc but only played it for 5 minutes cause my laptop felt like it was going to explode, do I dare buy this again while I'm waiting to build my pc? But still though great news, I just hope Capcom won't use this as justification for not developing a sequel(assuming it bombs again on consoles)

Very good news I'm so hyped.

I have the 360 version but held off as I was waiting for it to be BC on Xbox 1 which never turned up. This seems to be the reason why.

Was always the one release that I didn't understand why it's not on this gen's consoles.

Hopefully it's a good port.

Yeah Itsuno has to be working on DD2, they are trying to keep the brand alive for a reason. Might have even folded Deep Down into it.

Thank goodness. I've been waiting for the very announcement for a long, long time. I didn't want to get the PC version. Very glad I held off.

This game low-key has the best character creator of all time. Things like Black Desert may produce more detailed and beautiful results. But Dragon's Dogma is the only time I ever felt completely free to make any type of character. Hulking aberrations, imperious elves, spindly aliens, hardy dwarves, bodybuilders or milquetoasts, little children, bright-eyed young adventurers, weary aging warriors, hunched crones....

With so few restrictions on sex, age, size, and bearing, it just didn't matter that there aren't enough different hairstyles, etc. Cosmetic options (as much as I wished there were more) fade to irrelevancy compared to the ability to build a person to fit nearly any imagined backstory. Even ones that get little shrift in western fantasy games, like tween mages, female barbarians, or ancient kung fu masters. It vastly increases the sense of role-play, if you're into that stuff.

Being able to also design your main pawn was great too, and could establish a player-driven narrative hook. Friend? Dead parent? Romantic interest? Mentor? Haughty rival? Resentful servant? The possibilities were invigorating.

That's without mentioning the combat, which--though much more repetitive than folks usually admit--was tons of fun. And here too, you feel unconstrained. Certainly Dragon's Dogma is in rare company where melee, ranged, and magical combat all feel strong and engaging.

Let's just hope for a nice low price - otherwise, I'm PUMPED ! (1080p + 60fps would be heaven.)

Beardy Mc Chaps, the plump magician - will arise from the PS3 and finally discover the secrets of Bitterblack Isle !

I bought Dark Arisen, but never had the time to finish it.

Yeah, it just drops you on there and just says lol good luck with only a vague sense of what to do. Dosen't help you can easily get one shotted in the early game and lose a bunch of progress. It's also super easy to miss almost all the side content since they can canceled once you reach key moments in the game.

Game actually gets easier later on since it's super easy to get overpowered and destroy everything in the second half if you take your time and do most of the side stuff. Until you go to Bitterblack Isle. Which is kind of like a faster paced Souls game and will destroy you if your under level 50. It's also where the best loot is so you'll gonna want to go there eventually.

Cool.maybe I'll keep this in mind when I give this game a real honest shot. Honestly hear nothing but great things about this game.

They absolutely need to change the way forging (copying) an item works, it needs a better menu for selecting the item you want to forge and you need to be able to forge more than one at a time.

Some of the late-game equipment upgrades require multiple rare drops and it takes 2 minutes just to forge one item.

They won't change it but they need to.

Awesome. I've heard a lot about this series being an open world monster hunter (generalization I know), so I can't wait to finally check it out.

Capcom during DMC's 15th anniversary: Huh? What? What are you talking about? I'm not hearing anything.

Capcom for DD's 5th anniversary: Let's celebrate by releasing the remaster of Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen for PS4/X1! Fifth anniversary boys!!!

Hope we can transfer pawns. Geo will live on!

So excited, i never got the pc version. Expecting 0 mod support for this on console though :(

Would love to see player driven mod community for post game content.

It's rough around the edges, the inventory is a mess for example, especially when trying to copy an item at The Black Cat. But the actual gameplay itself is great.

Also, don't be afraid to use a guide when needed. You really gotta go outta your way to start some of the side quests and to find some of the requested items on the notice board. They'll tell you what you need to find but no hints where to actually find it with notice board requests. With some only bring found in one specific spot. Finding 10 Giant Fish shouldn't be as difficult as it is.

There's barely a mod scene on PC anyway. Similar to the Souls games, all of the mods are just texture swaps, cheats and ENBs. No new content or remixes.

Shame too, this game would have really benefited from more randomized elements.

Hell, I don't care what it costs. I'm buying it. I love this game. I usually overvalue plot, but the combat in DD was so good, I didn't mind how well/poorly the story was told. Or how silly the male love interest options were. Or how ridiculous the pawns were. (Hell, my favorite moment in the entire game was when one of my pawns jumped in the city fountain and said, "Be careful you don't get soaked in water!" over and over for several minutes.
