Gen4 = ps4 & 720 only btw
There's still activision (lol).
I must have missed that part.
Ours is an industry where a lot of devices come in and represent themselves as the next generation or the next generation after that. You know in many ways, we would argue that the gen— what we're describing as "Gen 4", is yet to come
8 - 10, PS4 25% more powerful than next Xbox confirmed.he said consoles right before he said 8-10 times

So wait is 69 dollar games happening or not?
Destiny says no.
Wait, so what did they exactly say about pricing? They said they're expecting games to be priced 69.99$ at the beginning, and then to be at 59.99$? Is that right?
I know, but even after that some are still holding out for COD exclusivity.Nah, they were at the meeting. Must be Microsoft Game Studios...
Mentioned how there margins have been lower then Activision's....FOR YEARS
damn thought it was close race?
Tell that to Nintendo...
I knew of course, but the same names keep popping up with seemingly bad PS4 news and good Durango news and then it gets shot down officially, but they continue to FUD threads.
69USD or 69 euros for us here in EU? I guess I know not to but games day 1 then...
On EU PSN ea already sell games for 69.99 so I wouldn't be shocked if tried to do it at retail.
He said that at the beginning of this generation, games were $69, but they went down to $59 after about a year.
If this makes no sense to you, this is because this didn't happen, and he's confused because he joined the game industry in 2011 and actually doesn't know otherwise.
Audio only? EA starts off next gen by going backwards.
If I recall that's how it worked here in Canada for awhile, but that may have been due to our dollar getting to par with the US.Yeah, except that never actually happened. Great. I hope he misspoke...

If it takes a game being 70 dollars to keep me from getting pestered to death with 40 pieces of DLC to get the full game, then bring it on, its 10 frigging dollars more people.
On the other hand, if they just raise it to 70 bucks and continue to degrade the gaming market by withholding content to make more money, then I obviously do not approve.

Judging by the thread, he said that the MSRP for next-gen is not decided yet.Unfortunately, I remember it happening here in Europe, but maybe I'm wrong.
So did he say just this OR he said that + "It could happen again?"?
Maybe he is Canadian. Prices in Canada used to be $69 and came down to $59 with the dollar parity.

It's possible that the console makers were considering $69 MSRP at one point for 360/PS3 and changed that before announcing it to the public, and someone at EA told him this, but he misunderstood and thought they meant they actually released at that price.
That's exactly the problem for us Europeans. I reckon the $10 price increase will equate to a £10/10 over here knowing EA.Mmm...at least in Italy the RRP for the majority of ps3/360 games is already 69,99.
Gen 4--according to EA--is the PS4 / Durango.
10 dollars more than something that was too expensive to begin with. And don't think for a second they're going to put DLC to rest just because they're charging a higher entry fee now.

Ah I see. That's also possible.
Clearly, those days of EA doing a lot of new IPs and weirder stuff last gen sound over now. Consolidation is a big word. Sounds like they aren't interested in taking on more titles outside of maybe mobile gaming.
This guy really seems to want to unify the backend powering the games for all platform, like NFS: Most Wanted 2012 does. He's mentioned it twice now.
But didn't EA start up in the 80's? This doesn't make sense no matter what way i look at it.
