ALRIGHT not gonna make this one super long but I wanted to post my impressions of Justice - Woman after sitting on it for about a week now.

I mentioned in my quick post before that I was six tracks into it and thought it was amazing. I think there's some really strong moments in this part of the album. Instrumentals in particular were great, Alakazam and Chorus just really get me excited to listen to. Safe and Sound is a great introduction, and the vocal tracks give me a really nice feel-good vibe. Not the biggest fan of "Fire" after a few listens, but I do enjoy some moments.

Now for the parts I don't like. First of all, overall I thought the vocals weren't that strong. They work in the first six tracks, and I say "work" because I wouldn't say they're the best vocals they could have gotten, but they work nicely enough. On the second half though, from Randy onwards, I just cannot get down with these and they fall totally flat for me. Nothing about this part is very exciting or memorable, doesn't make me wanna dance or enjoy the experience terribly so, also some really odd sound design choices that were a bit "whiny" for my liking like in Love S.O.S or Close Call. Heavy Metal sounded like the soundtrack for some kind of cheesy 80s vampire movie, and Randy is just way too soft in every aspect, there's really nothing driving home for me in this part of the album.

I think the biggest thing though that's missing from this album are the really obvious memorable catchy hits. There's nothing like D.A.N.C.E or DVNO that's even close to as memorable, on the vocal/pop side of things, I would have loved something like that. Don't get me wrong, like I said there's a few good vocal tracks, I'd listen to some of them again but they also weren't as heavy impacting for me.

It's a pretty good album but it's definitely not a great Justice album, but hey I enjoy some aspects a lot and I'll be revisiting those many times

I forgot to post this:

Otto Knows - Not Alone

A person on reddit was talking about this sound and how it's so prevalent now and I guess they are trying to shift away from Future Bass, eh?

That AudioFreQ album is on point though. The transitions and the variety they bring are so good. It is mainly a Hardstyle album but they are so good and varied with some surprise genre's thrown in it. I think it's better than both Brennan Heart's and Coone's albums this year.

Uhhhhh, lol. So I'm digging the production, but... Is it just me or is this boring?

I don't wanna sound elitist but every song I've heard so far is new and they just sound like less energetic, more monotonous versions of old songs he's made. I'm not getting that feeling I got when I saw his live shows in 2010/2011, like when he dropped badass tracks like fucking Bad Selection, it was nuts

I know this is rehearsals but this makes me a bit nervous, really hoping the final show is a bit more interesting.

EDIT: It ended right after I posted this lol. GG

I assume the tracks he'll actually play at his shows will be somewhat different. He seems like the guy to play tracks during rehearsals specifically to test certain aspects of the audio setup.

I really hope so, damn, I'm a humongous mau5 fan but I wasn't feeling that one

In comparison, these were the dates from the 2011 tour. I speculate that in several of those locations there will be added shows due to the size of the venues.

No fucking way he's playing one night at Hammerstein ballroom in NYC. That's a 2200 person venue.

WaMu is a lot bigger than Paramount. It's soooo much bigger that I dunno if there will be need for another show. I guess it depends on how many mau5 fans there are in this area - although we're the only stop in the PNW. Vancouver and Portland might roll through deep.

EDIT: After giving it a couple listens I changed this a bit

Just listened to W:/2016Album/ by deadmau5.

I mean, it's another mau5 album. I can't really say a lot about the structure of the album because it's the same feeling I get from every album he's ever released. It's a playlist of songs. It shouldn't come as a huge surprise seeing as the mau5 himself more or less said this about the new album and that it was just to pay the bills.

However, I will say it turned out better than I expected. It's incredibly well produced with some really wacky ideas which I absolutely love. An interested combination of old and new mau5. I really REALLY didn't like some tracks at first, but after a few listens, I realized there's not a single bad track in here. They're all good and the ones I wasn't huge on at first have grown on me, it's just he's not the best at tying together an album. I'm yet to see something from him where it feels like all the songs make sense together, though he's said that's what he wants to do next.

I can't say there's an electronic album this year that is my absolute favorite of the year but there were a couple good and decent ones, couple disappointing ones.

Also,

Hahaha I knew someone would misread that. Those are not this years dates. Those are from is 2011 tour, I was using it as an analogy for his newest tour showing that he'd probably announce more dates. The only tour dates right now are on the image I posted above that.

That said I wouldn't be surprised if he announces red rocks

wow im a dummy. LOL! thanks a lot. now im sad. now i need to find his album.

Eric Prydz's latest Facebook post is right in the feels. Poor guy, and good of Eric to reach out and try. Hopefully they raise a lot of money

Damn, a deadmau5 album and what do I have? Well, perhaps the best Euphoric Hardstyle duo out there right now put out a new album.

Yes, I am talkimg about none other than Wasted Penguinz.

Clarity

I'm enjoying it. The lyrics, albeit cheesy and corny, are easily relatable for what I and many are going through with depression.

Edit: Imaginary Friends is a banger. Has that Bounce to it. Love it.

Edit 2: Oh god.... Three Pound Chicken Wing is such a troll song. I never expected a "Bigroom" sounding song from Joel. Good job Joel.

That's a pretty familiar sound from him, it's similar in a lot of ways to FML, he just hasn't really used it in a while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g34B-YOaC7c

Also Deus Ex Machina has gone on my techno playlist. Track is dark as fuck I love it, so many good ones on here. Whelk Then probably takes the cake for me

deadmau5: made Bigroom before it got popular. What can't this guy do lol. I like it. Never really delved too deep into his music until I got on here. He also can make Bigroom sound, you know, GOOD. Like, damn Joel!

Edit: also finally delved into Skin Companion EP 1(?). I'm liking it. Giving me some Nujabes, J Dilla, Marcus D vibes. V is pretty eargasmic right now.

You'd probably like stuff like this too, a lot of this stuff on 4x4=12 and For Lack Of A Better Name

deadmau5 - Bad Selection

Deadmau5 - The Reward Is Cheese (1080p) || HD

Might be called EP1 cause there's gonna be more than one, unsure though

Saw that. Really sucks... Seen a lot of that stuff over the years with cancer doctors in the family, never gets easier to hear someone didn't beat it.

Going to be going to this show, and now they added a Sunday. Super sad that the dude passed away before he could witness the show. I expect a ton of feels and tears at the show.

Song doesn't sound that "big room" to me. Pretty dark track. But if that's the way Big Room is headed sign me up :p

I've already established that deadmau5 made Bigroom before it got to where it is above with Aomber :p. It's not a Bigroom track at all. It's actually good, for once :D

Lots of floating harmonic melodies. Good stuff, just not up my alley
