I never got GTAV since I was expecting both ps4 and xbone would get their own versions. So I'll probably buy the game this time.

I wonder why the PC version has not been announced yet. The game sold about 29 million units the first six weeks, and 3.5 million additional units until the 3rd of February. I understand that 3.5 million units means a lot of $, but presumably the people who waited several months to get the game are less likely to double dip and buy the pc version. Releasing a PC version should have minimal effects on the long tail sales of the console versions at this point, considering that most of the people who will double dip are probably among the 29 million who bought the game in the launch window.

Additionally, it seems like the perceived value of the PC version would go down significantly if the game is offered on PC say the next autumn. The game will probably be sold at full price in the beginning (to hardcore fans, most of them among the initial 29 million), but they will have to lower price quite soon. If the PC version had been out say two months after the console version, they would still have made the extreme $ from the 29 million launch window sales, they would have made excellent long tail sales on consoles, and most importantly they would have had a full year to offer the game on PC for full price or with fake discounts (of 10-15% or so), including to all of us double dipper fools who would have paid full price for both versions.

Is nelsonroyale an insider or what?

Only on this. I have a friend who is a dev at the studio who basically says he has played the PS4 version. He told me to wait for that version, which I am. They seem to be holding off announcing it, but this is the rockstar way i think.

They're probably waiting to sell DLC for the PS3 and 360 versions before announcing any other versions of the game. That'll allow them to get as much money as possible out of them.

This may sadly be the case. If we must wait for the dlc, I guess a PC release date in late 2014 is what we are heading for.

Oops, hadn't replied to Bish. Sent him a mail. Yeah, I am not an insider at all. As in I have no contact with the VG industry. Just have a mate at Rockstar.

Watch Rockstar make fun of this ad.

Will opt for WD if it came down to it, played the shit out of GTA5 over the past 7 months, nothing left to do in the game.

Also, I can see R* giving Sony a 3 months exclusive window. With the lead they have over XB1 and Agent more likely going multiplate, 3 months exclusive should not be that hard to get.
I would offer R* my royalties just to get 3 months of exclusivity, after that 3 months royalties go back to normal and the XB1 and PC get the game in September.

I only asked about PS4, but I think there is zero chance it won't be at least Xbone and PC...If it is on PS4 it will be on the other two.

I wouldn't rule out a timed PS4 exclusivity for consoles. As others have suggested Rockstar still owes Sony an exclusive. With The Agent failing to materialize, a GTAV next gen exclusive is really an easy way to get out of that contract with something which is definetly less important than a new IP, so it would be a win for Rockstar...for Sony not so much....but at least they got something concrete and of proven success.

It will probably be announced with the SP DLC R* hinted at and a shitload of new MP modes which if we take those leaked sounds files from last year includes horse racing, casinos and I'm going to guess heists.

That along with much improved visuals and more players in MP would be a very sexy package.

I'll eat my hat if this is 60fps on PS4. For the moment I got this on lock for PC, but if the PS4 version turns our really well, I might finally consider picking one up.

Could be, but I kind of doubt it. Maybe they will make a GTAV stories on Vita though? Probably unlikely as well, I think there is no hope for vita other than its current role as a PS4 peripheral, indie machine with the odd exclusive. I think the exclusivity thing with Sony may have been sunk to be honest.

I am just very interested to see how this game will look on next gen.

oh man, i really really want this to happen. GTAV already blows my mind visually on PS3, a PS4 version with a good framerate and less jaggies and whatnot would be just... wow. i'd be euphoric playing it, no joke.
