From the comments and main article, women gamers are more upset of a depiction in a single videogame as being a fat caricature, as opposed to the typical objectified sex object that they appear in many to most other games? Way to further your cause.

Dali said:Yeah, really. Big-boned Princess, Thick Princess, "Healthy" Princess and It's just Baby Fat but She's got a Cute Face Princess just don't have the same ring to 'em. Don't cave under the pressure guys (pun totally intended).
but the only thing I can't figure out is why anyone would want to rescue a fat princess in the first place, since everyone knows that fat girls are unlovable human garbage at whom any sensible bloke would sooner hurl invective than cast a longing glance.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_acceptance_movementThe fat acceptance movement, also the size acceptance movement or fat liberation movement or fat power, is a grassroots effort to change societal attitudes towards individuals who are fat. The movement consists today of a diverse group of people, who have different beliefs about how best to address the widespread prejudice and discrimination against people whose girth is considered to be above average in contemporary Western societies.
Generally dated to the 1970s, the 1980s and 1990s witnessed an increase in activist organizations, publications, and conferences. In the 1980's new anti-dieting programs and models began to appear in the research literature, in response to new information dispelling common myths about obesity. The contemporary movement perceives negative societal attitudes as persistent, and based on the presumption that the rotund characteristics of a person's body reflect negative character traits of that person. For example in Chang and Christakis paper they state this belief by stating that obesity is detrimental to the community, by means of decreasing human efficiency, and that obese people interfere with labour productivity (V Chang and N Christakis, 2002). Furthermore, these diet-touting trends and societal views have led to an increase in psychological and physiological problems among those who feel that their weight is above the "socially acceptable norm".

I think the people that actually admit they are fat and use the word "fat" to describe themselves are a minority. The rest of the fat people use euphemisms and in time have actually started believing the word fat isn't an appropriate adjective to describe their big asses.Nose Master said:Wait, being fat is a minority now?

A disgusting and useless appendage of royalty who spends her days eating cake whilst the peasants starve and then suggesting they ought to be eating cake too?

In all seriousness, I don't see the problem. There's a princess, and she's FAT. Not chunky, not thick, not plump, or other shit that people say to be nice. Now someone put up the WHY SO SERIOUS Joker image so this thread can be awesome.
I hope you kind folks at Titan Studios do not cave into pressure and change the name of the game.

** Rescue the prince's lard ass
I don't see how any argument could be made that the concept of "Fat" is wrong.

What constitutes fat hate? The princess is the star of the game and she gets rescued. Its not like you kill her in the game.
This could be the only time I've EVER seen an overweight femail take a main role in any game ever, and it's suddenly wrong.
blog said:Why so serious? Geez, she's just a flag. As in Capture the Flag. That 10 people have to carry. And feed. And besides there are plenty of games where fit people are rescued and targeted for, you know, DEATH, like Halo 3's VIP, CounterStrike and various other games where you have to escort somebody, but one little game about a plump prima donna and everybody has to get in a hissy fit and throw around words of the year like heteronormative.
Really?
Really!?
If fit people can handle it, why not fat people?
