The different towns in the Assassin's Creed series. I was blown away in the first Assassin's Creed, I loved the settings in this game.

So much to explore(so many secret spots and such) and the music is so cheery!

More great music and such a great atmosphere. You can practically feel the warm humid paradise yourself when you are in there.

I also love Blackwater from Red Dead Redemption. A lot of great story segments take place there and when the zombies broke out in the DLC it was incredibly hectic and enjoyable to run and gun around corners and down alleys.

Clock Town from Majora's Mask, so many great characters in one place.

Definitely the best. It's a shame no 3D Zelda since has even come close to replicating such a great town. Wind Waker tried, but I don't think Twilight Princess did. Skyward Sword, save us!

Shibuya, although a recreation of a real place, it was still done incredibly well.

Game is The World Ends With You.
Still holding out for a Shibuya world in Kingdom Hearts 3D

Super Mario RPG:

Mushroom Kingdom- It was my first RPG town, and I was kind of blown away.

Monstro Town- Just an odd, neat idea. It feels like a secret, even though you have to end up here. Also the home of Culex.

Megaman Legends:

Kattleox Island- Big, bright, vibrant, and fun. A really unique place.

Wind Waker:

Windfall Island- This place just hits all the right notes. When I first got to this island, I knew that Wind Waker was something special.

Red Dead Redemption:

Armadillo- Everything the old west should be. I could just walk around this town all day, tipping my hat to passersby and waiting for trouble to show up.

See, Morrowind had some freaking awesome towns.

No one's listed a single one from Oblivion.
Yes they have, a few times actually...

Another one from me, Beregost from Baldur's Gate.

First time I saw Orgrimmar my jaw dropped. It was my first day playing WoW back in 2005. My first MMO, period. The airship moored to the spire. Onyxia's head on a pike at the gates. Dozens of high level characters hanging out, covered in crazy weapons and armor. The undead mounts. All of the buildings with their open lofts and hammocks that the NPCs didn't even use, but Bliz had taken the time to create them for you to explore. The trolls little water park style home. The creepy cave area where all the magic casters were located. The hall of heroes or whatever it was called. Thrall's throne room. The scale and openness of the whole place just amazed me. I would hang out there just to watch the comings and goings of other players.

Every town in PS1's Trilogy of FINAL FANTASY games ( VII - VIII - IX )..... still can't believe they were non in FFXIII -_-"

SE used to make the best towns in gaming..... Let's hope we get some of the magic back with FFXIII-2.

The fog/field of vision and blurry textures in Morrowind are so hard to look at these days. I think Daggerfall aged better..

Also, WOW towns are so disgustingly scaled. Blech!

This is my answer. Easily my favorite town in any game.

Another one is the tibetan village in uncharted 2, just walking through it was one of my best moments this gen.
