|OT| - Posted by Ebil (Image heavy, may require stretching windows or using a browser's zoom out feature.)
Google Doc text version for mobile/bandwidth concerned and easy word search.
Google Doc for Version 1.0 Storyline and Lore resource directory

The OT above was designed by Ebil and I to be an elegant, yet comprehensive guide that provides answers for both new and potential players and looks beautiful while doing it. It is highly encouraged you give it a good looking over before you ask any questions, especially if those questions begin with "How do I..." or "When do I...". Seriously, it is worth checking out, even just for the great visuals Ebil put together.

On that matter, I'll say I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with Ebil on a fun and rewarding challenge - couldn't have asked for a better partner. I wanted to make one of the most visually appealing and useful OTs and I think we may have succeeded. Also thanks to Jijidasu for volunteering to look over what I wrote. For the |OT2| I will carry over and edit the 2nd post of the first (containing avatars, community, reviews, and resources). Banners by Ebil.

As described in the original OT (under "Getting Started"), legacy characters are currently restricted to legacy worlds (servers). Even when the world transfer service becomes available, they will be unable to move to “new” servers for several months. New characters can be made on either new or legacy servers. The primary difference is that no character on new servers will be older than than the Phase 4 Beta. Measure the pros and cons of both, though minor and temporary, and make a decision for yourself.

I wonder if by this point there are more people who can't play but want to than people who are actively playing (not afk).

dumb question, but if I have the jpn pc version, can I create a char on US servers or just JPN servers (or vice versa)?

This game is cross-region. It is also cross-platform, but you need to buy the Windows version to play on PC and the PS3 version to play on PS3.

Hopefully soon the thread will be more about people playing than people not playing and getting annoyed with the constant errors. Fun game

Even with all the problems people are having getting on and such I am so very tempted to try to get this. The two biggest things holding me back is the once I hit end cap in a mmo I usually lose interest thanks to not having enough time or patience to deal with/get into a raiding guild, and the fact that mmos usually take up all my gaming time. A much smaller factor is my computer is also getting pretty darn old so then game would need to be turned down quite a bit I think.

I've run into errors constantly, but I have been able to play... a lot.

If you are a Final Fantasy fan, I don't see anything wrong with the idea of buying this, beating the main scenario, doing the "post-game" dungeons, and quitting.

Here's hopin'. I've been enjoying my time with the game so far. Just... would like to spend more time with it, ya know?

And I was in the middle of getting my chocobo before this weekend as well...

Did you know Halo invented the FPS?
Yoooooooo square. hire more customer support and fix peoples accounts who accidentally added their retail code to a NEW service account. It's been 5-6 days already and can't play the game :(

Oh good, a new OT. Hopefully this one will be more about the game and less about server issues.

Wait this isn't Final Fantasy: Error Within The Game. And here I though I had almost collected all of the error messages to get an achievement.

What happens if someone adds the code to a service account?

Was there a GAF free company on Lamia as well? Thought I saw that in the previous OT and realized that's where my NA character ended up.

They're a lot friendlier to pets regarding AoE, damage, and general abilities in this game, I can put Selene by the boss as she will basically take care of herself and spam healing with no mp cost. Eos does even more healing if I really need it. In FF11 this pet would have had x5 the recast time on a basic Cure, an MP bar, and died to boss AoE before the 3 min mark.

That's why despite my desire for SE to fix the pet command quirks, I can't help but applaud them for the clear progress they made from 11.

Actually, current Automatons are basically what SCH pets are though you need to tell the AI to prioritize stuff. They took away the global timer for spells on Automatons and they basically cast like crazy as a result. It's not quite as tight as the Fairy AI but in healing power it's equivalent or better nowadays.

Not a Gladiator.

You could get flash from leveling gladiator though, but with that said, I think MP might be a problem at early levels, I've only played marauder in phase 3 once though D:

Yeah I believe you can cross skill flash from a GLA level 10 or close to it. Also you'll need to level GLA to 15 for the Warrior job.

Yeah Flash was a problem earlier on, I could only use it twice before I had to wait on my MP. Now it's not a problem, and I use it frequently as a Warrior.
