Glad I didn't play it yet. Played some of chapter 1 on launch day, but waited it out for this and also hoping they would fix the pacing issues, which I guess they aren't going to.

I think Chapter 13 isn't helped by two things:
It's preceded by 3 chapters that are about 10-20 minutes long (and the escort one which lasts longer but is worse than 13 in my opinion), so the sudden drop in pace is jarring.
There are a lot of blocked off doors that you don't go through, so it makes each floor look longer than it ends up being.

I don't think it's game breaking/ruining/deserved of the mass outrage it received, and got people stopping playing it until it gets fixed.

Driving the car was boring but at least I could listen to nice music and look at my phone until it was over. in ch13 I had to actually pay attention to the boredom.

Altissia is criminally underused for as much time they must have put in it, so no issue with that place getting fleshed out.

I'm starting to feel like an idiot for having bought the game at launch, though.

I also think that the problem with Aldecapt and Ravus is not that we don't know what they are doing during Chapter 13 or
how they die
, it's that they don't have enough story exposure through the game.

For Ravus you can piece his story together through the game if you engage optional conversations and interact with people, but there's nothing about Ielolas and Verstael.

They were considering adding chapter select or cutscene viewer, something like that. I am sure it might be released with this update.

EDIT: Okay, forget about this, lol. The information about a playable Gladio section being added to Chapter 13 was known weeks before the leaks and Ignis being with him is trivial to guess because it's the only thing that makes sense scenario-wise.

It's beyond too late. The mass audience will not want to replay the game to see a few cutscenes that ultimately will change nothing. The mass audience aren't the people that go to a rereleased movie to see 17 seconds of new footage.

I found the ring super powerful as it is, ch.13 was really easy, just long. I stilled liked it. Played it into the AM and was pretty drawn in to the atmosphere. I'm in a minority tho. If anything I felt that sequence knew what it wanted to be more than most of the game.

For real. I returned it a week after I bought and conpleted it. I'll watch it on youtube or something but I'm not really interested in replaying it like I do other Final Fantasy.

I'm not replaying the whole game just to see a fixed CH 13, so I think I'll just look this up on YouTube.
Especially when there are so many other games coming out that are complete on release, and would be a better way to spend my time.

For the Ravus cutscenes, is this only for chapter 13? Or for the whole game? Didn't they said he was suppose to have more screentime?

Boy do I feel like a sucker for buying this game on Day One. I enjoyed my time with FFXV, mainly the gameplay & not the terrible story telling, but it sucks that all this stuff is coming out now to make the overall experience better. I truly was a beta tester.

Should've waited till late 2017 to play this as there's just no way I'm going back with how many other games are coming out/I'm playing & general time for the rest of my life. I look forward to watching it on YouTube though!

The real proof of these rumors will be whether the DLC dungeon will be playable in the main game.

Oh, d'oh. I can't believe they did actually add in an escort mission, I'd hoped that was part of the joke. After all the character DLCs, they will have added a lot in to Chap 13, for better or worse. If the story of the Ignis DLC comes to pass, I'd be furious, as that is something that should have been something the main bloody game, not paid DLC.

This is why I'm hoping these aren't the only cutscenes they add. Honestly the game would do well with having an additional hour or two of cutscenes to flesh out all of the secondary characters.

I played like ten hours before shelving this because of the rumors. Glad I did, but this is a really nasty precedent. Editing the primary experience/content the game ships with, months later, really doesn't sit right with me.

This was only the Chapter 13 cutscene additions so hopefully more are on the way. The rumors state more cutscenes for Regis and Luna.

Again, let's see how much the Gladio DLC conforms to what they said. They did mention Gilgamesh being a gear with lots of swords after all. That would be suspect BUT the battlefield where you are fighting him thus far IS packed with tons of swords so we'll see....

MAAAAAN, all of this sounds really cool - but it honestly makes me wish they had just delayed the game to Spring 2018. Can you imagine if the game had actually launched with some this cool stuff that should've been there?

EDIT: "Leak" sounds like 10% truth, 90% fantasy, especially that last update. This would be a classic 4chan fanfic method. Are we fully sure this is the first source of Gladio having a playable part in the upcoming update?

This "rumor" was made after the team detailed how they were addressing Chapter 13. It really isn't that hard to come to the conclusion that cutscenes would be added to the chapter when they said they were going to do that.

You're talking about the same FF audience that bought a redone FF7 Advent Children for a few extra minutes and a more fleshed out story, and buys International and Final Mixes for more cutscenes and gameplay tweaks. So...

Most of the game is running/driving/riding across huge empty and boring landscapes to do completely meaningless tasks like defeat one enemy or pick up an egg.

Chapter 13 is way down the list of things they should be worrying about fixing... it was fine.

It's kind of awesome to think that when I inevitably go back and do New Game+ to replay FFXV, it'll be improved and expanded from the first time through.

To be honest now I just kinda blame you guys for engaging at this point. It's been 4 months (since release been like a year as a whole)and the same ppl are still doing the same thing. Let them be

Yeah, but the Steam version some time next year after all the DLC came out, and also remasters in the future (FFXV UHD for PS5 or whatever), which will get re-reviewed, could benefit from it.

No, Tabata said himself in the ATB in late January that there would be a playable Gladio section in Chapter 13.
