Damn. As a big The Room movie fan.. Sounds like I gotta get around to reading the book.
Oh shit. Thank you for this..Highly recommend the audiobook. Greg Sestero (Mark) does the reading himself and it's glorious.
Lol this audiobook just went straight to the top of my to do list.
I forgot all about this lolftfy

The book really is a fantastic read. It's not just a detailed chronicle of the bizarre and inscrutable nonsense that surrounded the making of the film, but an incisive character study into Wiseau himself and how his persona and psychology ultimately spawned this movie that seems so alien. It doesn't go so far as to portray him as a misunderstood genius or anything so trite, and there is a dark side to him that sometimes comes through, especially in his sometimes-fraught relationship with Sestero, but you come away from the book with some understanding and even sympathy for him and his passion to create a story that's truly remarkable and evocative -- even if he didn't quite succeed in the way he hoped.
I wonder how they'll handle the passages about hissupposed backstory. That section felt a bit too personal and invasive to me, especially since it was mostly spun out of unverified rumors, and even if it were verified I don't think anybody would be comfortable with information like that being made public. Would probably be best to leave it out.
I just want everyone to know that Zac Efron will be playing Chris R.
James Franco long ago stopped giving a fuck about anything with regards to his career other than having fun. It happened before the stint on the soap opera, that's for sure.
Also, this film NEEDS to have the part where Tommy forces everyone to have a FIVE MINUTE moment of silence on the first anniversary of 9/11, and how Tommy would reset the timer if anyone laughed at the absurdity.
1) Watch movie
2) Ponder how such a thing could possibly come to be
3) Read the book
Soo, I'm ready to go down the rabbit hole, should I watch the movie or read the book first?
You watch the movie first, unquestionably.

The book adds tremendous context to the film and creates a surprisingly complex, empathetic portrait of Tommy. But definitely watch the film first.
PLEASE let us know what you think.
oh man!
fuck, don't know if I want to read this on kindle now for an upcoming flight or listen to it instead!

you should find a local movie theater screening of the film, and bring lots of plastic spoons with you.

There are framed pictures of spoons in the movie. When they appear during the screening, people throw plastic spoons at the screen. What's the spoon thing about
So looking forward to this. Also, pretty cool to have the entire HDTGM crew in it.
Hearing from Seth Rogen that James Franco was in-character as Tommy Wiseau throughout the filming of this is incredible.

Why are the sex scenes so long, and the moaning.
