Former intelligence chief : trump scandals worse then watergate

If the Trump scandals are all true, that the campaign conspired with a foreign adversary in order to win a presidential election and that this can be tied to the president, then this is certainly true.

One of the aspects that makes Watergate as significant as it was, was that Nixon formed his group of "plumbers," coordinated most of their conspiracies, and was also in on the Watergate conspiracy, and then was personally involved in the destruction of evidence. It's charges that have truly never been laid on a president before. Notably, he also put together the group to target his own administration, not Democratic adversaries, but his own appointed men. Mid-way through his first term and approaching his second, Nixon was showing signs of dementia brought on by stress, alcoholism, and deep personality faults.

That said, Nixon was a better president than Trump. Nixon, while perhaps personally mad, a clear alcoholic by his second term, and someone who probably suffered from chronic personality disorders by his second term, was still able to motivate some positive change, largely his (or Kissinger's) policy in China, Africa, South America, and the Middle East. Kissinger's skillful relationship with China brought an early end to the Soviet Union, helped bring an end to the Vietnam war, and helped make a moderating influence on North Korea. Kissinger also prevented what could have been a genocide of Egyptian troops at the hands of Israel during the Yom Kippur War (Israeli troops out-flanked Egypt's largest division and had them literally surrounded and under siege; every Egyptian would have been killed and it would have been, arguably, the most decisive military victory since a battle of World War II) and brought about the first peace talks between Israel and an Arab power, the most consequential step towards trying to establish any semblance of peace in the Middle East (and really the only lasting peace agreement between Israel and an Arab country now going on 45 years). This doesn't make Nixon a good president, he was a horrible president and arguably in the top 3 of worst presidents (I'll always put James Buchanan and perhaps Franklin Pierce rungs below Nixon as worse presidents), but Trump has none of Nixon's achievements, all of his personality faults, and -- if the allegations play out against Trump -- twice his crookedness.

The pee is real, but the tapes are fake
Man, what a waste that'd be, if the dossier was all true but there's no tape somehow

I think I've wondered about this before on here but, with the publication of the dossier, if it's true, & if there's a tape, I wonder if there's actually still any chance that it would ever be deliberately released, cause of how directly it would implicate Putin's Russia in trying to subvert Western Democratic institutions.

Heck, if all the above is true, there's even a chance that the tape was destroyed after the dossier came out, in order to give Putin plausible deniability

Watergate involved an actual crime. It isn't comparable to this nonsense.
How does it feel to be so blinded by partisanship that you so actively and consistently deny the reality of the events going on in the world around you? It's fascinating.

No way this was a one-of-a-kind 8mm hardcopy. If it does exist (it totally exists, by the way) then it was probably made using sophisticated digital recording devices.

Christopher Steele had no legitimate reason to put something like that in a document he wanted his government and its allies to take seriously, unless he had seen the damn thing himself or there was undefined proof guaranteeing its existence, secure or not.
