Aside from the VIP mishap in the beginning, I've really enjoyed Forza 7.

However I agree with this. Turn 10 needs to shake things up. While there is some great content and racing here, it does grow stale without any innovation from the devs. I'd like to see them add different racing disciplines. I thought the Nascar dlc for 6 was great. Let's get more of that kind of stuff in the game day 1. (...and please hire someone new to handle the soundtrack. I don't think the Forza Motorsport series has ever had a good soundtrack in all these years. Part of GTs charm is in it's presentation and the soundtrack goes a long way with this.)

Haven't tried PC2 or F1 yet. Waiting for my wheel to arrive before getting PC2.

For me all three big racing games of this year are disappointments.

Project CARS 2 is by far the biggest one. I honesly didn't expect they'll release it in such an unpolished (broken bug infested) state AGAIN and I'm glad I didn't spent my money on it and just played a borrowed copy for a few days. With GTS I knew right from the start that it won't be my type of a game with the focus on online and challenges. As for Forza the biggest problem is not enough new features, they're just riding on the existing content. I only bought it because I'm not playing pCARS 2, otherwise I would hold off until holiday sales.

Honestly I'm not the guy too ask, I don't follow the news on the state of the game that closely. I know they've released a 2.0 patch, how much it has improved and how much of the crucial bugs are still there to be fixed - don't know. I still plan to buy pCARS 2, but probably when the GotY version is released in less than a year.

I've got the PC version and have played the Xbox One version.

On XB1 it is a complete technical disaster. One of the worst looking games I've seen on the platform. Much worse than the original. Frame rate is dogshit and full of tearing even when you're the only car on the track. Aliasing appalling - looks like it's running in SD.

Maybe XB1X will improve it greatly, but I wouldn't touch it on Xbox. Forza all the way for that platform.

Thanks guys. I have a PC that could run it, but not sure if it would look much better than the XB1 version, depending on how well it's optimized on PC. (Plus would be a pain dragging my wheel rig back and forth from my living room and basement where my PC is)

I will wait for XB1X impressions before buying.


Just got the GT Omega wheel stand and have a TMX Pro wheel coming. Really looking forward to doing some laps with it in Forza.

That's crazy. I just don't trust SMS to deliver a working game at launch, no way and the Xbox ports seem so unoptimised. Cannot reward shoddy practices by paying full price.

Grid Autosport was a good return to form imo for Codies. Add in the successful (again, great return to form) Dirt Rally and F1 2017, sprinkle in some rumblings of a "big" sim type game in the form of Grid Autosport 2(or whatever it'll be called) and perhaps you might find a new savior for the genre...

So, how do you all play the game with a weel from a couch? I've always wanted to play the game that way but I just have no idea how I should set it up. I even heard that they added support for the Driving Force I already own, so that would be perfect.

Check out the GT Omega stand. Getting mine in a couple days and will post impressions in this thread. It has a bunch of great reviews and is reasonably priced at $149 with free shipping.

I usually attach my wheel to our coffee table (which is fortunately cheap and it doesn't matter if I scratch it :D).. but I have an issue with the pedals. They keep sliding.. and I'm not sure the missus would appreciate me buying a stand.

Is there any alternative?

Maybe some strong rubber feet for the pedals to keep from sliding?

Many wheel stands are collapsible for easy storage.

Good idea with the rubber feet. Need to visit my local hardware store and see what they have.

I just ordered FM7. I gotta say - the Play Anywhere really makes the deal incredible. I can play on my PC and not bother my GF when she watches TV, and I can play on the XB1, when she's cooking.

Coffee tables and whatnot are fine if there's really no way possible of playing any other way but a simple wheel stand is a game changer, they're super adjustable so finding a natural driving position is pretty easy no matter what you've got your arse on. Hunched over with slippy pedals is no good for you at all.

At this point I'm betting they're saving up a new big update for the XONEX launch (which is a mistake imo, because that version will never get a major percentage of the players).

What's everyones methods for farming credits; any good Track and or Condition+FE Car combos that yield a nice payout? I just tried the Ford Escort(50% CR + 50% CR at night) doing circles on Daytona, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. My mods weren't that great though.

Want to buy the Zonda but then I will have literally nothing left. Hoping to farm 1-1.5M back this weekend ready for the next lot of speciality cars as I won't have any time to play during the week.

I was actually thinking of using the FE GTR (50%CR | 50%CR) exclusively for Open championships to get the money rolling in. That might be a viable strategy.

They’re equal to Forzavista where it matters if that makes sense. The exterior is max detail besides on a couple of cars (some have a 2D grille but not most), the engine isn’t rendered because it doesn’t need to be. If you look at curved things like wheel arches they’re identical to their Forzavista counterparts on PC.

That's what i've been doing. I'll typically do career races on short to get through it but if it's open I grab the GTR and set it to long.

Just looking to see if there are any efficient free race methods people have found.

Well, you could do a 45-60 minute (or longer) custom race in a CR% car with expert+ AI and mods. That's the only "legit" way of doing it. You'd get a lot of credits (and a few driver levels with more credit opportunities), but I have no idea how that compares to the exploitable methods in terms of credits/time (it'd be a darn sight more fun though).

Some people might not be aware of this, but to get highest LOD car models while racing you need to set dynamic render to Ultra, even if you manually set everything else to Ultra. Explained by this person:

Am I'm unlucky when I'm only getting 14 Mbit on the WIndows Store? I have 100 Mbit, so I'd expect to run a lot faster.. at this rate, I'm not going to play tonight :(

I had the opposite problem. I usually only get ~30mbps down (I think that's what I pay for), but while downloading FM7, for some reason the first few gigs downloaded very quickly (>200mbps) then throttled down to normal speeds. This was on Xbox though.

Probably a case of caching at your ISP. But you shouldn't complain about that ;D

Can't find the news item, but I could have sworn I saw that the VIP fix will come on the next update. Not sure when that will be, but we haven't got the X1X update yet. So maybe then?

If I have a mod that says “get one perfect corner” (for instance), and I apply it, if I don’t get a perfect corner in the race, does that count as one of the three “uses” of the mod? Or are uses only consumed when you actually do the thing?

Only counts towards a use if you achieve it.

The wording is funky on them, but they're only consumed when you actually do the thing :)
