He was SK, which is like being scum, probably harder since you're by yourself. My point though is that when I've played with Bronx, him being quiet is usually a bad sign. Even shitposting is a good sign for him.

Not really. Being sk is harder in terms of winning, but your posts are more natural because you can make a honest attempt at solving the game. You don't know scum and you need to find them (well some players don't....)

The thing that trips up most scum is having more information and having teammates. One of which is much less of an issue and the other is a non issue as a SK

All of which is to say I don't have a read on Bronx so far. I didn't read DR so can't say how this compares. It's hard to separate his feud with sorian from him potentially being actually over aggressive.

I'm resigning myself early to the fact that it's best to just deal with it. He arrived at the answer like a week and a half before I did and he usually does. I'd rather figure out if he is scum or not more than anyone else in the game.

Yea but how to do that? He has the opposite problem of some. He throws so much impenetrable, indecipherable shit at the wall and does stupid gambits (as both town and scum) that he always leaves me frustrated regardless of his alignment. And frustration leads me to usually being okay with lynching him over others. I think blarg has an expiration date. As town, he becomes way too easy of a mislynch come end game. As scum, obviously we want to lynch him asap.

Case in point that fucking post. Are you serious dude? And at the top of a new page. Thanks for making browsing on mobile miserable for the next few hours.

I'm personally against lynching Blarg just out of principle. He can be helpful as a town player, amidst all bullshit. And every mislynch is a lynch that helps scum (assuming Blarg is town, obviously). We have to concentrate on finding scum, not doing policy lynches.

Bronx feels bit more aggressive than in his town plays, but it's too early to say really yet what it means. Sorian is being Sorian, Blarg is being Blarg. It's usually quite easy to say if shit-posting from Blarg is town-shitposting or scum-shitposting, but it's too early to say for sure.

That said, since town is so universally shit, perhaps it would be helpful for everyone to describe some behavior that is actually antitown.

Not speaking up. I was in Vampire and we were slaughtered by scum. One of the reasons was that many of the town players were very quiet, hardly responding to big revelations. Also, some of those town players had information that they could have talked about which would have helped, but they chose not to. So yeah...if you are a town PR and you've already used your power, or it's late in the game, I would volunteer that information as it makes no sense to die with it. I don't mean that each player needs a bazillion posts, but people should at least be engaged with the latest. Scum is sometimes scared of 'taking a stance' so wishy-washiness is also definitely something I look for.

Also, blindly following the high post-count people (town or scum) is anti-town, but is sometimes the easy and lazy thing to do.

I just think that chasing Blarg is a really easy way for scum to seem contributive to the game. He is the epitome of an easy target at this point.
I guess this is whats bothering me. Noone has pushed for a Blarg lynch, with only Kawl saying he's generally not against it. Yet you already have 2 (now 3) posts on the subject:

I'm personally against lynching Blarg just out of principle. He can be helpful as a town player, amidst all bullshit. And every mislynch is a lynch that helps scum (assuming Blarg is town, obviously). We have to concentrate on finding scum, not doing policy lynches.

What do you think Blarg about people wanting to policy lynch you?
I think you're trying to centre the conversation around "should we policy lynch Blarg or not?" That feels like, at best, an easy topic for scum to navigate. At worst it sets up a Blarg lynch despite you claiming to be against the idea.

Your only other post (ignoring a pointless prod vote/unvote) is fairly empty:
Bronx feels bit more aggressive than in his town plays, but it's too early to say really yet what it means. Sorian is being Sorian, Blarg is being Blarg. It's usually quite easy to say if shit-posting from Blarg is town-shitposting or scum-shitposting, but it's too early to say for sure.
The comment on Bronx is ok I guess (although I don't personally agree with it), but "Sorian is Sorian, Blarg is Blarg" tells me nothing.

But yeah, it's not like majority is asking for it. But lot of games have seemed to spiral around it after a while.

Hmm you mean DR3? Blarg was earning a policy lynch on D1 for sure, his play hasn't been nearly as disruptive here.

I don't remember what other games Blarg has been in recently...

Well no he is the epitome of an easy target for basically the whole game. Which is why he becomes a liability as the end game approaches. As you approach end game each lynch becomes more precious. So it's a much larger error to mislynch later than early. If someone is likely to be lynched regardless (which is how I feel about blarg) then they are either scum or a mislynch. Both of those are better to do earlier rather than later.

Basically, I agree with you that scum often takes a stance on blarg as easy contributions. But add into the fact that blarg often plays a game that is hard to decipher and frustrating to interact with, I believe he has a much higher percentage of being an easy mislynch in the game at the point where we can least afford it. Now if he plays an actual contributive style this game that's different

I have only played with blarg in Overwatch, where he was a replacement and decided to start posting five minutes before day's end, so how useful is blarg to town?

Because all his shitposting is fine real day one but I feel that if he is still posting like today at game day 5 it could be troublesome.

That said, since town is so universally shit, perhaps it would be helpful for everyone to describe some behavior that is actually antitown.

In general, games with 23 players tend to have around 5-6 scum, depending on the set-up of the game. These scum seem to roughly divide themselves to two groups:

1. The ones who try to seem as contributive as possible, but most likely not Town Leader position, unless no town player has tried to grab that town leader position for themselves, in which case they might. These scum players tend to be harder to find for the town, and are by far the most dangerous scum IMO. (See for recent example: Natiko in Danganronpa 3).

2. The ones who don't contribute to the game much, but are not out-right useless and dead quiet either. The players who tend to end up moving with the masses, not taking any real hard stances, unless forced to. These scum are usually found earlier, but sometimes they make it until the endgame.

There is also group 3 that is neither of these two groups, the misc. But I feel that the scum tend to end up on these two groups.

So for the question about anti-town behaviour, it ties to these groups. Scum behaviour, and from that, anti-town behaviour usually is:

1. Scum are usually afraid of posting. They think long about what they are about to say, in order to not slip up anything that could potentially expose them. Town players don't have to really think about that.

2. Scum players usually try their best not to be directly tied into their teammates in case of being found out. So they don't usually try to interact with each other too much in the game thread, but also not too little either, since no-interaction at all is rather suspicious on itself.

3. Most importantly though, scum wants to disrupt the pro-town narratives as much as possible, and bring out the narratives that favor the scum team. This is especially what the group 1 of contributive scum want to do. If town is closing in on lynching a scum, contributive scum will either try to slyly push for either an alternative narrative that would result in a town mislynch, or go hard on bussing their teammate, so that they will look good in later town-narratives. If game is LYLO, they might go for the former, if scum team is far from winning, they might go for the latter.

So what I would want to watch out on anti-town behaviour especially is people who don't contribute and go with the masses, but also contributive people who don't seem actually honest with their posting, and who are posting as safely as possible. Bit vague ideas, but that's because scum players can easily change their behaviour and posting styles as is required, so we can't expect a scum to post in one specific way.

I don't mean only DR3, really (I didn't follow that game super closely). Almost every game with Blarg feels like it goes to the discussion of "should we policy lynch him", unless he has claimed some pro-town power early on, like he did in Harry Potter.

I feel that Blarg can be genuinely helpful to the town, requiring that he didn't roll scum by himself. Of course Town-Blarg can make some real mistakes too (NX Mafia still in my burning memory...), but I'd rather have Blarg lynched due to him being actually scummy, not just because "he is going to be mislynched anyway".

No I'm saying that all players could be described by those 2.5 groups. That post was a whole lot of busywork that says nothing.

That's basic CCS, very 'jump over a cliff and think about it later'. And your point could still be true for town CCS. I'm more interested in why Acohrs and CCS try and relate each game and if it's just a pretext for acting normal when one of them is scum.
