How do you know that? I feel like I'm in the fucking twilight zone that you don't see the glaring errors of this game
By are you even here still? You made your opinions clear with the "it's just so bad" comment.

Just leave it and go rage about something else and how people have wrong opinions that contradict yours.
In what world is that an attack on you? Jesus fucking christ, I'm done.
Good, don't forget to hit the X in the top right on your way out.

Because there are a lot of skills, missions, activities and regions we have not seen. As for the atmosphere? Well, I am playing it and enjoy the views and the effects, such as storms and such.

I never said it was perfect and I don't even expect it to get great reviews. But whether you believe it or not, it does have qualities that some of us think are quite nice and we will have a good time with it. I guess that it is just not your cup of tea, man. That's okay.

But you see, it is my cup of tea. If you see all the Ubisoft games I own you'd be surprised, and I've enjoyed pretty much all of them except The Division and now this. I just think this is not a very good game for Ubisoft, the foundation is there, but like I said it needs at LEAST 6 more months of work in order to feel solid and maybe a year in order for it to be great.

But yes, fair enough, you like it and thats fine.

My god this game is just bad.
Can you seriously sit there and say this game has any worth beyond the typical Ubi convoluted, dull open world? Not only that, but the gameplay is ass, except for the shooting which feels quite nice. There is nothing remotely compelling about the setting or story.
And I won't be playing it, had enough from the beta
my thoughts exactly. No idea how people are saying "I don't understand why people keep bashing this"... What I don't understand is how some of you are buying this day one. Baffles the mind, if i had this pre-ordered and played this beta I would immediately cancel it.

Those images look horrendous, but I thought the game looked pretty on my setup, its just everything else you mentioned thats wrong with it.

I usually am a huge fan of Ubisoft games, I really enjoy the AC series, enjoyed WD 2 and absolutely love Siege (minus the horrible servers), but this game is just a giant pile of MEH
Lol, I think I'll pass on that Black Friday sale. Let me know when its free with a purchase of my favorite soft drink

Why are you still here?
How about you buzz off like you said you would.

Kind of torn so far. Its pretty looking and on paper its my kind of game.

But after about an hours worth I was meh on it. I will buy, but not until it's cheaper. Game had so much potential but too many things feel off.

This game is good. First impressions were asstastic but it shines in co-op. Now I'm enjoying it solo just trying to be all tactical and shit (and failing miserably).

PS4pro version looks amazing. XB1s looks framey and there's some tearing.

While I don't think this game is bad,

The tasks and missions are so bland. Blow up boxes, punch buttons on a keyboard, find object Z.

Where's the MGSV style military bases? Where's the Just Cause style over the top missions? Where's the enemy variety?

I understand that doing these menial missions can be fun with friends but I was hoping for something like a more fine tuned version of the MGSV open world. I've yet to find a place as close to interesting as the military base in Afghanistan in that game.

I kinda hate the "it's just so bad" reasoning too.

This was a well thought out response

It is a compliment when the game is getting panned by most people here. Merely pointing out that it can be fun, and that fun is most easily found when playing co op. It is more immersive, neutralises the dodgy allied AI, and improves other things by mere sociability.

As for vehicle controls, they are not perfect, but are you guys seriously struggling to get from A to B? Also, this feels to me like an open world deliberately NOT showered with icons. There are several things to find and do, but there are no limitations, no elongated searches or side mission chains. Each thing centres on combat in a particulat environ, and that is often enjoyable.

I mean I guess. The game still has those issues you just side step them by playing coop. The driving is no bueno no it isn't a struggle but it isn't enjoyable. The cover system straight up blows and makes navigating the areas a pain. Missions being tied behind investigations is just as bad as any side quest litter.

I could probably never see myself playing this solo , me and my friend played a bit and we're playing tactically to take out enemies and then really fucking around on the way to objectives using the games jank with the veichles to have some fun . The game is okay

Really happy Ubisoft decided to release this beta to the open public. It has allowed me to realize this game was not worth pre-ordering. I like many things about the game however there are more things I don't like and I just can't justify a $60 purchase on this game when there are others that are better and now cheaper. Vehicles seem like they are indestructible when you are driving, I mean you can eventually kill the vehicle by crashing it too much but it takes a lot of effort to get it there so much so that I literally could drive off of cliffs and the vehicle would be fine. The voice acting and the character modeling in particular of the woman Handler are just rather poor. There's much more I could say but I don't want to create a wall of text.

This is a clear case of buyer beware you have been warned if you buy this game at this point it is your own fault.

My buddy and I played for almost 5 hours. We had a lot of fun! We played so much GTA Online just doing the same missions over and over again so repetition is something we enjoy if we can co-op it. Will be picking it up. I played by myself and it was bad. But it's night and day with a friend on board.

Game performance has been total ass for me -- well, not the performance itself, but it eats up so much CPU that other apps like voice comm stuff keep crashing on me, and it's slow loading on initial startup.

I really, really enjoy what I've played of it, though I won't be picking it up at launch. Friend and I will likely revisit it in 6-8 months.

I've concluded there are only two things that impressive me about this game, besides the scale of the world (which I feel is unnecessary in that it mostly goes to waste and makes travel a burden, but hey, just my opinion):

1.) The Sync Shot mechanic
I know this is nothing new, but it feels so damn satisfying tagging three separate enemies and watching them drop like a sack of potatoes when you give the order or take a shot yourself. I just love this feature.

2.) The squad chatter
This is by far my favorite feature of the game, and the size of the world makes it that much more impressive. I'm referring to the way your AI squadmates will not only alert you of nearby enemies, but describe exactly where they are (example: "on the bridge" or "in the bunker.") The devs could've taken the lazy way out by doing an ArmA style, "SOLDIER WITH RIFLE. 12 O CLOCK" approach, but man did they knock it out of the park. It really makes it feel like you're walking around with a team of specialists, and not just a bunch of robots. This is especially true when you combine the chatter with the Sync Shot system.

Why are the vehicles so bad? Specially the helicopter.

This game has so much potential.

I imagine it will have lots of updates and additional content added as well. Like I said, it's going to be like The Crew. Many blew it off, but later realized that it is not so bad and that there is more to it. Very fun game with a lot of potential to be even better for the long haul.

Man I am having fun with this game and I only played solo so far...its huge, gunplay is pretty good, grab a sniper and clear some guys in towers before going in,drones are cool...play this with RL friends and its should be a blast...

Only reason I am not grabbing this in March is Horizon,Nier,ME but I will down the line...this could be a great summer game to play when nothing else comes out for example.

Only played for about 2 hours and a good chunk of that was just messing around, so by no means a final impression, but so far I'm very meh on it, driving, gunplay, stealth and character movement hasn't really done anything for me (wouldn't say any of it's bad mind, just nothing all that great) and I only see it getting worse once the new stuff wears off and the boredom starts. They went a little overboard with the collectables too.

Also, why is my car super slow? I occasionally get little speed boost, but for the most part I just get left behind.

Not feeling it alone but had some good times rolling with a co-op squad. Definitely needs a lot of fine tuning though. I feel it has a ton of potential but needs to bake a while longer.
I will pick it up at some point just not right away.

Wanted to wait until I had a decent bit of time both solo and co-op before weighing in. For reference: PS4 platform.

I guess the writing was on the wall from the start: When I first started playing the campaign solo, the game crashed out while creating my character and I had to start over. After getting through the intro, I headed off to the first story mission, hopped out of the jeep to take down a small skirmish but was close to a rock and ended up stuck in a texture with no way out except to fast travel. Sigh.

Anyway, bugs aside - and those two were the worst I've had but there's been a litany of smaller ones - I'm struck by just how bland the world is. Before this, I always felt Far Cry 4 had too much unused space but this blows that away. So much of this beautifully designed terrain is just... empty. Which leads to doing silly things with friends in co-op just to pass the time and is just mindnumbingly boring when not with friends. In fact, I'm pretty sure we spent more time just goofing off than actually trying to do the mission objectives simply because it felt so tedious. For all its foibles, I never felt like the missions and movement around the world, especially when playing co-op, were tedious in The Division.

As others have said here, this is a really soulless endeavor - purely a Ubisoft paint-by-numbers open world. The gunplay is not very satisfying - again, The Division is much better in this regard - and vehicle control is atrocious. Driving reminds me so much of the old jeeps in Battlefield: Vietnam, and not in a good way.

I can't see this being worth full retail even if it were coming out during a gaming drought. Unfortunately for Ubisoft it isn't. Between Horizon and Mass Effect, I'm going to have my open world and shoot stuff in face hunger well sated. This might be a title I'll check out around the end of the year, once it's had some time to get patched up and have an inevitable price drop.

I can see this game getting real boring really fast. I'll probably get all I can possibly get out of it in this beta so I won't bother buying it.

One thing I like doing is getting into a helicopter or truck and having my squad murder everyone in seconds as I drive around. Maybe if this game were focused on vehicle combat it would be more compelling.

Ubisoft really should have payed attention to Metal Gear Solid V because this really just feels like a clunky ass version of that.

And that dialogue.........I really didn't like it when my female character told my buddy "took you fucking long enough" when he revived her.

Ok. I called up buddies to play GR:WL beta. One of my guys is very into it and wants to play co-op more, but I'm struggling to tell him it's boring me to death.

It really should not be this hard to to get aiming right. I know it's ghost recon and it is supposed to be tactical and all, but the controls are too complex just to shoot up a nest of enemies.

I dunno, it's just not fun to me.

Played on co-op with two of my best friends tonight and it was a ton of fun. I've been wanting an experience like this for a long time. Just got the parachuting ability and C4!

Is there any mechanic that lets you speed up time? So if you found a nice spot you could advance time to the dead of night without having to just sit there?

On that topic, is there any in-world clock?

I couldn't find either. I do have some HUD elements removed though.

Really any game is fun with friends. A game needs to stand on it's own.

Played through all of of the beta main missions in one sitting, enjoyed myself, nice challenge in that second area. Will definitely pick it up down the line over the summer when I have a lull, but it's by no means a day one for me or anything. Still, was more fun than I expected.

I had started the beta earlier yesterday and played for about 30 minutes. Got the first mission and rescued the hostage guy. It's just so boring to me. I zoned out during the intro in the helicopter. Nothing really caught my attention. I guess the game just isn't for me.

I played more of it tonight and enjoyed it a lot more this time. But still, I can't see myself picking this up until it's cheap later in the summer. Too many issues and too many other legitimately great games to play right now.

Downloaded and deleted it when it said I needed an Ubisoft account to play.

Too bad they had to force that.

This has been the case for all of the Ubisoft multiplayer games for years, don't tell me you are going to download a trial of battlefield and then delete it when it needs origin to run? About all of the things you could complain this is one of the silliest.

I've played about an hour of this and so far it seems decent if a little lifeless. I was kind of hoping that this would be a spiritual successor to Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction but so far I'm not too sure if it fits that description. I've spent most of my time going in quiet so I might try going in loud and see how that goes.

On PC the graphics settings menu is pretty nice with large screenshots illustrating the differences between the various settings. The game seems to run pretty well with a couple of things turned down from the highest settings.

After playing Watch_Dogs 2, where they had clearly made a lot of effort to make the world and characters feel different from standard Ubi open world fare, the blandness of this game really stands out. The graphics seemed jerky to me (not sure if this was related to my online connection) and the intro story was painfully dull and cliche.

I played a few missions but got quickly bored - and I enjoyed Future Soldier (or the first two thirds of it anyway). Or was it Advanced Warfighter? The prior one? I can't remember. Anyway, won't be picking this up, especially with Horizon on the uh... horizon and an open world Zelda imminent.

Tried for 20 mins...its awful...clunky as fcuk...visually unappealling...poor character models, horrific V/O...and just....generally generic and flat...

It's a bog standard Ubisoft open world game...yet I would have enjoyed those games more if they had what this one has...4 player coop. Thankfully, not only does it have this but it's designed from the ground up for it. Therefore it beats out every other Ubisoft collectethon by a wide wide margin. I would not play this alone but nor did i play assassins creed, far cry or any of their other games for more than a few hours before Bordem set in. Hoping in a car with my friends and going o check out a dot on the map is what these kind of games have always needed. It's also wayWay more fun then the division. If you're burnt out on Ubisoft type games then yeah this might be a disappointment. If you're like me and we're just waiting for the right one, here it is.ove been having a blast in coop with friends. Non stop fun.
