Hoping to see some big improvements in the graphics, although R2 definitely had its moments... from the screens it looks like the ingredients are there
I hope they do this too. Throw it on PSN for $15 and I would buy it. R2 Co-op was spectacular.Fersis said:I would make a whole new game based on R2 CoOp
Its ok dude I guess they had to make sacrifices to make the game more focus this time. With R2 they try to do a million things some which didn't get the support it needed. The single player should be much better, the competitive modes sounds like it will receive a major overhaul and we will still have the single player co-op with upgradable weapons.DMeisterJ said:No Resistance 2-like co-op? I'm sad... it's the thing I liked most from R2... but I won't die without it.
This is all about focus, and ensuring that everything in the game is the absolute best it can be. Really tough call, but it's what's best for the campaign and competitive. Moving co-op back to the campaign allows us to focus on campaign even more.
And as an added side-bonus, all of the RFOM fans who sent us e-mails about dropping campaign co-op in R2 will be very very happy
How do you know it won't have any replay value?Lince said:For f* sake !!! R2 co-op mode was incredibly addictive and well done !!! whose fool's idea was to remove that feature from R3???? R3 may have a better SP campaign with self-shadowing, ambient occlusion and bump-mapped fish and chips, but how many times are you playing through that? 3-4 times at most, on the other hand I spent around 300 hours playing R2 coop with a lot of cool friends and was really expecting R3 to have something built upon that fantastic concept... now it seems they just scrapped it for whatever wrong reason, seriously what is this s* ?
I'm not buying R3, devs please stop reading/listening to GAF and stick to your vision.
Focusing on so many modes is exactly what made the game good but not great. The single player suffer the most and that what really pissed a lot of people off.Now we have a focus single player with co-op that you can play online with another person and a more focus competitive that alot of people enjoyed in R1.So they going back to why alot of people love R1, even though I found R2 just as good.Lince said:For f* sake !!! HOW THE HELL CAN THEY REMOVE 8 PLAYER CO-OP FROM R3? 8 PLAYER CO-OP SAVED R2 LIFE BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE WAS DULL! I PLAYED THE CO-OP ALL THE TIME NOW THEY ARE GOING TO SCRAP IT!!! WOWWWW!
Why can't they have regular campaign online co-op and add the 8-player side co-op? Why start a foundation your not going to build upon?
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!
Not all weapons from the series make it into the multiplayer, so it might not be there, or if it is it may be very different from the SP version.RockmanWhore said:Really disapointed by the lack of proper coop mode. If anything, they should have scraped the single player campaign :lol But maybe the coop and the unlockables will make the SP campaign much more repayable this time.
I'm not a big fan of the idea of a weapon wheel in MP, feels to clunky to me, and it's another disadvantage for the noobs. It's great for the SP though. I like the new weapon that makes the target explode and make it attack its friends, I wonder how they'll implement it in the MP

WTF are you talking about?badcrumble said:Insomniac is, in fact, releasing a standalone online co-op game with equally heavy RPG elements.

Game development at Insomniac seems rather schizophrenic, always chasing popular trends, never sticking to their guns.
But they are, your post makes no sense.JB1981 said:Bububu bumpmapped fish and chips, dude.

Thats exactly what theyre doing, instead of spreading too thin theyre making SP and MP the best thay can make.JB1981 said:Bububu bumpmapped fish and chips, dude.

The campaign's already in a playable state and we're still like a year away from release. And it's Insomniac.TrAcEr_x90 said:There was so much complaining about R2 it sounds like they went back to alot of the elements from R1. I for one could not complain about R2 much, being that i put in well over 50 hours into that game. Only thing that bothered me were the graphics at times.
So i hope all the haters are happy a seperate co-op type game is out now. But im sure insomniac has some other stuff they havent even shown yet.
DevilWillcry said:Dear Insomniac,
Please ignore all the pointless bickering about the removal of a mediocre feature from a previous title. They will all get over it and buy the game anyways, because that's what ALWAYS happens. You guys are making all the right decisions so far with R3, don't let the "fans" ruin it please. They already destroyed Cole McGrath, let's not let them fuck up R3.
kthankxbye

Oh yes, will the second character have any special weapons or abilities?jstevenson said:Now just to be clear, we certainly haven't thrown the baby out with the bathwater.
