Hey guys, I asked in the OT, but why no tail lights? Is it because the models are standard?
Awesome shot though. This game has me on edge, and I don't even own it yet!

You can turn off lights on the car independently from each other in photo mode if I recall.

Some of the shots thus far in this thread are simply astounding and you guys are just getting started. I expect to be regularly amazed over the coming months, and am anxiously awaiting some 1080p Zonda R, Enzo, and McLaren F1 pornography.

At some point, hopefully in the not-too-distant future, I'm going to have to scrape together enough cash to pick up a PS3 and a copy of GT5-- a photomode of this kind of fidelity justifies the purchase by itself as far as I'm concerned, and I hear there's even some racing and other stuff to go along with it. :lol

:lol Well, as we always say....GAF > Internet > GAF.

I wish that GT5's photomode let you put a watermark signature on the pics - either your PSN ID or a custom signature of your choice limited to X number of characters.

That would prevent this sort of thing happening and people wouldn't wonder "who took that?" :p

it appears you have quite some freedom to move the camera around even outside of the track, right ?

In replay photo mode, you have several different cameras to choose from in addition to the free roaming cam. Those other cameras are placed on the outside of the track most of the time (like if you were a real photographer). IIRC, I don't think you can go outside the track with the free roaming camera.

That was always PR. It's like Sony saying that vibration was last gen or Microsoft saying that blu-ray is no use for gaming. GT didn't have damage, and that's just the way it was.

hmm..is that aliasing i see behind the snow clouds ? I know it happens ingame (stuff behind alpha textures being rendered at lower res) but photo mode ?

Yes, it happens on Race Photo Mode too. Still rendered at higher resolution then ingame, but still less then the rest of the picture.

But its a frame buffer capture, so it doesnt have all the post FX and what not.
tl;dr : Looks great in motion.

It is.

It's one of the standard cars, it would seem. They are just using models from GT4. The results are so bad that I'd have preferred they just leave them out altogether. Looks so out of place.

The wing isn't actually modeled and is just using a flat textured surface.

Definitely not in-game vs photo. Photo mode uses the same models as what you see in game. That is a standard car, not a premium car. All standard cars are just GT4 models slapped into the game. Premium cars were all modeled specifically for GT5.

That's from a taxigamer feed. In motion it looks good - although their video stutters for me so I only can watch a fraction of it.
