That looks like a mod alright.

It makes the game look like one of those cheap eastern european games with way too many effects and filters.

When there is no terrible brown/orange-ish color filter present, it looks washed out.

But I guess it's the kind of immersive realistic overhaul that gaming websites will post about for months to come.

Also just from looking at the list, I'm 99% sure a lot of OC mod authors will find their stuff in this package without giving permission (namely real ads, vehicles, damage/dirt maps, weapon recoil...) ;)

That looks incredibly awful.

Pretty much. The ENB looks vastly inferior to the game's original colour palette. Also not too impressed with the rainfall. It looks too coarse or something.

And honestly, aside from the ENB and rainfall, I'm.. not really seeing a whole lot different to the original game. GTAV was already a very handsome game on PC. There's more work to be done here but from this trailer I'm not very impressed.

The explosions look worse. They're going for realistic looking ones, but the cartoony ones that GTA V originally used look much better.

These kind of mods worked for the piss-filtered GTA IV, but they don't jive with GTA V's aesthetic at all.

why am i not surprised this looks terrible
its just like every time someone posts sweet fx shots of a pc game and it looks fucking horrible

For all it adds, it also doesn't retain the GTA V look for some odd reason. Can't put my finger on it. The colours look more like GTA IV's palette, which to me isn't a good thing. And I didn't think the weather/lighting effects really needed improving on next gen/PC.

Welp.

Are Rockstar still banning people with mods?

Not offline.

Agreed on both counts, I was gonna mention the explosions too. I really liked the cartoonish, almost mushroom cloud-like explosions they produced. When I saw IceEnhancer or whatever it was called, I remember genuinely being taken aback by it. This just doesn't come anywhere close.

Seems like a sharpening filter plus desaturation. GTA5 has a gloriously saturated color palette which makes it a joy to play.

I agree with others, it looks worse. But I'm happy the option exists for those who enjoy this style.

Finally, I think it's time for me to rebuy this game, if it's on sale soon.

This is what I've been waiting for on the PC side. Got the PS3 version and I can wait forever if necessary, I just want GTA4 levels of pretty mods, and I'm happy to know it's possible.

This seriously looks awful. Every time I see this image I think it's an ENB mod for Vice City or something:

GTA5%202015-12-07%2017-02-28.jpg

If you want good graphics you get VisualV. Instead of just being a Reshade effect (although it does include one) it actually focused on getting natural lighting through the game's own weather and lighting configuration files instead of slapping some shitty contrast-ruining filter over it. I want natural lighting, not instagram. Here's how the game CAN look with a good graphics mod like that:

I think it's debatable whether this is actually better looking or not. The original game already didn't have a brown/green filter to obviously remove, and it had a great colour palette. I guess some of the textures look higher res but, to be fair, I've never really stopped to specifically look at the road and clutter textures. The rolling fog effect doesn't look that great as it clips through the mountain at the beginning of the video. The explosion effect doesn't look that good either.

This mod is a tad ovewrkill and isn't the best I've seen when it comes to graphical mods for Grand Theft Auto V, one I've always liked is called "VisualV" which enhances the feeling of the stock settings instead with improved and higher resolution versions of the original art and extended things like shadow distance, etc, you can check it out here, it's worth a try if you like the original feeling but just want it a tad more enhanced for the PC.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Its weird. Certain aspects look really good but others are fairly ugly. Seems a little, unbalanced? For example the rain seems to look decent at first but really seems like its... not a part of the world if that makes sense?

These GTA graphical mods rarely look right to me.

On a sidenote, I can't wait to see how a true current-gen Rockstar game will look like. I can see Rockstar doing some magic with PBR and global illumination.

I wish there was a gameplay upgrade mod that made the combat fun.

But there's already a gameplay upgrade mod that makes the combat fun, you should check it out, google it sometime. It's called "play GTA V on PC"; the mod removes input latency and makes it so that you can actually hit the things you aim at, it's really fun

Jackpot

Banned
The usual over-exposed high contrast look with 100% reflective surfaces. Pretty much every misconfigured ENBseries out there.

After playing through the game on 360 and then on PC countless times I'd play through it again with this mod. It's not perfect but parts of it look pretty cool.

Looks bad, but theres a ton of different presets so maybe one of them will look good? Dunno, this person is doing a lot of work it seems.

Most of the time I see these ENB's or w/e they are and they're just a color palette change and some insane depth of field. change color + dof = mod? like wtf.

Wasn't that PC footage in the video there? It still took me back to a dark, sluggish, unresponsive place.

Duuuuude, PC GTAV vs console GTA V is like night and day. You ever play Max Payne 3 on PC? That's what GTA V feels like (well, it's not quite as mechanically strong as Max Payne 3, but I'm just talking about the input response and general feeling of control over your character). I was just joking and pretty much assumed you had played GTA V on PC and still had complaints with the controls (because they can still be finnicky!), but if you haven't... man...

Console GTA V to PC GTA V is like going from Killzone 2 to Modern Warfare where controls are concerned. And that single thing, in and of itself, is absolutely transformative to the combat. Suddenly you're shotgunning dudes with precision... while moving at 100mph on your Bati, and combat-rolling into groups of dudes with a pistol pulling headshots for days, with style. It's good shit. I dunno, I enjoy GTA V's combat a lot for what it is - it's definitely janky, but a lot of fun can be had with it. I used to think that the secret to making the game fun was the liberal use of explosives throughout, but that's before I picked up the PC version and could finally aim a damn gun with some consistency.

That is the first thing I noticed playing the PC version for the first time. Especially with the driving. The response time is greatly improved. The shooting is better also, I really wish it was at that Max Payne 3 level though.

I think the biggest problem with the shooting in GTA V is that the targeting dot goes away too quickly after you shoot. You have to aim down the sites to keep it on, which slows down character movement. I wish there was a setting where you could keep it on while in combat so you could strafe fire just as well as you could in MP3.

I remember RDR also had a little better input with the on-foot shooting controls.
