GTA V's radio stations being updated for next-gen release

Thank god. GTAV had far and away the worst soundtrack of any GTA since GTA3.

Haha no. This is the first GTA where I actually listen to every radio station. In fact I have a couple radio stations that Franklin. Mike, and Trevor each listen to. The songs match the games world perfectly. It draws you in more. GTAV has one of the best soundtrack ever imo. Thank god they're adding more. I can't wait.

Who is this Cara chick? Here's hoping other stations beyond just pop are updated. I don't know why but GTA V music felt too limited and that the same songs played over and over. I never noticed music or radio stations as much as I did in this game either.

Yeah, it felt pretty short. It wasn't long before you had heard all the songs several times. They should also add more content to the community/talk shows.

I cannot wait to see people posting videos of PC GTA V running on high-end PC hardware that outclasses the PS4.

While I would expect the PS4 / XBone versions to run at a nearly locked 30 FPS, the PC version at 60 FPS (given the right hardware) should be a revelation, provided the PC port is not a complete mess like PC GTA IV was.

The PC version should be awesome on high-end Nvidia Kepler and upper mid-range Maxwell cards, as well as the AMD Radeon equivalents.

OK.

Where is my metal station?

GTAV is seriously lacking Metal! I mean San Andreas is based on California and we don't have have any Bay Area Metal goodness? I least put some Machine Head up in this bitch.

GTA V takes place in south San Andreas, the Bay Area doesn't factor into it.

There's no metal/rock station in this game? Talk radio or off it is, then.

There's several stations that could be considered rock stations, no metal station though. Unfortunately the talk radio station in the city is pretty weak, the rural version is good but there's little reason to hang out there. The talk stations (aside from my dislike of WCTR) are pretty short and it and well, all the stations get repetitive quickly...

Also wish there was an option of skipping stations or the radio automatically going back to the station we were last listening to, I'm so so sick of Blue Ark coming on every time I drive a Peyote or several other cars.

How can a release date not change when no release date has been announced other than a vague throwaway season mention

They have consistently confirmed it as "Fall 2014". I assume he means that that "date", or rather window, has still not changed

i swear to god the pop radio station plays the same shit every time i pass by the channel.

Same with me and every time I turn on WCTR, I get Chakra Attack... Which is largely why I avoid WCTR, I don't mind JB Smoove but it like most of WCTR is painfully unfunny, Lazlow and Fernado's shows have small moments but it's just "bleh".

Cause it did, either Brittany or Rihanna played. They could've picked a way better Brittany song too.
Let's have someone funny on one of the comedy stations this time.
As much as I give the radio in V shit, jb smoove as chakra was good but he by himself can't support an entire station not to mention if you go into Blaine county the station changes.

I expect that an i5 and GTX760/R9 270X will be fine for mid-high and 60fps on 1080p.

I won't be playing anything beyond 1080p, but it would be nice to use Ultra / Max settings and still get 60FPS.

I'm thinking about an Intel CPU, either i5 or i7 (quad core, not 6 or 8 cores), and have it very modestly overclocked to a base 4.0 GHz if it's not already that by factory. What would be the best model to go for in either i5 or i7 ?

16 GB of DDR3 (no reason to go DDR4 with a new X99 motherboard) or should I go with 32 GB DDR3 ? and either a single 4 GB GTX 780 Ti (maybe SC ? ) or the upcoming GTX 880 with 4GB. Both should have roughly the same performance.

I'll just make sure I get an adequate PSU to handle a 2nd 780 Ti in SLI, or, a single "Big Maxwell" card (GM210) in 2015, if I feel I need the extra performance. Like say, if GTAV PC gets some major community graphic mods (ala iCEnhancer or something else) over the next couple of years.

Nah. That was GTA IV.

Yeah. GTA IV's soundtrack was fucking awful. I actually thought the soundtrack in GTA V was pretty damn good. The only GTA games I'd say had better soundtracks are Vice City and San Andreas. With that said the soundtrack in Vice City Stories was pretty cool from what I remember. Not as good as V overall though. Anyway it's great that an already great soundtrack is being updated. More non stop pop goodness!

If they don't add a jazz station then I'll continue to drive around the city with no music.

I'm not one to complain typically about in game music, but man GTAV sucked in comparison to previous entries in the series.

They really need to add a jazz station, I agree. Or at least let us add our own music like GTA IV on PC.

Sounds like real life pop stations. Could be intentional knowing Rockstar :lol

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
No trigger discipline. Get it together, Rockstar...

I prefer playing GTA5 without the radio. It sucks that the "Radio OFF" setting doesn't work properly.

It doesn't? :( GTA4 (on PC) doesn't have a radio off option, which kinda drives me crazy.

In terms of radio, i'm 100% with you, Sleepy Dogs had the best radio in a game like this (though it's a subjective thing i guess).
In terms of Original Music, although underused in the actual game, GTAV had a stellar soundtrack.

Eitherway, let me just have my custom radio on PC and i'm fine with that.

I really liked music in True Crime : Streets of LA.. great rock, metal music

Want you to make me feel like I'm the only girl in the wooooooooooooooooooorld~

Definitely can't wait now, I was hoping this would happen.

Okay. Do you feel better about yourself yet?

I hope this means new music too. GTA V's soundtrack is fine, but was already ridiculously outdated in 2013. You could just feel that they've chosen the music sooner and didn't really expect it to come out at the end of 2013.

Do you know where to find all of the songs? I've been wanting a playlist.

Well, you can either buy the soundtrack (even though I'm not sure if every song on it); or like me, just remember the song name that you enjoy the most and search for the in iTunes. The pop songs are very often from the 80s-90s and still available on iTunes which is great.

No idea if the songs can be found on other services such as Amazon Music etc. as well though.

Meh, I really don't care if the music is new or not. A good soundtrack is all I care about, whether that means the songs are a week old, a year old or 5 years old.

Definitely buying on day one if all or most stations get updated. Soundtrack was already great imo, so more tracks is welcome news.

Surprisingly my favorite station is the country station. I hate country music, but the old stuff on that channel is awesome.

Good to hear. I want punk music, but the punk channel was fairly disappointing, and was bordering on hardcore. Give me stuff like Ramones, Green Day, early Misfits, Clash and Living End pls.
