All I need to know is why Truth is not available as a slayer map in either playlist.
Da fuq? I loved truth in the beta..
Edit. It is in. It's in the first post.

Orion and Pegasus were great Team Slayer maps I don't understand why they are only in FFA.

No objective playlist? Ah well. It probably would have been removed afterwards anways.
Even if you see them doing it, it's hard to get a head shot as they head at you feet first.
oh btw, Landin, one of our amazing video editors, has created the single greatest Water-tech video of all time. I hope we can show it during the launch.
Orion was trash, nothing at all great about it in any way.
Pegasus was alright but the spawns were not balanced at all.
Sure, they were alright. There may have been changes to their maps that we haven't seen yet. Empire and Trident have both seen changes since the Beta.
fixed

These launch playlists lack Team Objective with OddBall, CTF and KotH at least! Team Double and Action Sack would have been great too... It's a shame, even if the Weekly Playlist is a good idea.
Concerning the maps... Really? 6 Warzone maps, 6 Arena maps, 2 remixes and 7 Forge maps... 7 FORGE MAPS? Great. They should have not say "21 maps". I was not expecting 14 maps and 7 Forge. Especially 5 Human maps for Arena. Where are the Covies? Where are the Forerunners? Where is the beautiful Halo art?
I'm about to spend more time on Battlefront... I'm sad.
This. Why did they tell us forge maps weren't included originally in the 21 count?! And whyyyy are so many maps not utilizing the huge variety in setting that a halo game should have?

When did they say the Forge maps didn't count? I've seen it said here, but never with a direct quote to back it up.
I don't understand the variety complaints either, I guess it stems from people not liking the human architecture, but the maps are varied. Underwater, beaches, snow, city, covie ship, jungle, forrunner arena, desert...???

That last part was one of the sweetest things I've ever read on here!I can understand the complaints too. Especially since the "desert" map isn't a desert map, it's a human fort with a desert in the background.
I will never stop loving Fathom though. Underwater maps are the coolest. If I see an enemy player just stop at the window to look at the whale for a moment, I'll stop and watch with him.

Enjoy the 12 maps and great balancing over in Battlefront. Doesn't that invalidate your argument?
Also for the guy saying he'll spend more time in Battlefront... 4 planets with 3 maps each? You can't be complaining about map variety when it's having 4 art pallets at launch. At least with H5 you're going to be continuously be fed with maps every month for free.

If you show me a picture of one of them, I can't say what map it is. And I'm only taking into account Arena Maps. Warzone maps are much more varied and far better.
I don't know yet. But I'm more attracted by Battlefront maps than Halo's Arena maps.
Hum... I was not aware of that part...

Battlefront will be glad to have you Im sure. You will definitely get "Team Objective with OddBall, CTF and KotH at least! Team Double and Action Sack" over there as well.
No one says that they love playing Blood Gulch because they like running around and staring at the skybox.
(which there are 4 in battlefront).
I don't understand people thinking there are two SWAT playlists, there is one. Breakout is different from SWAT. But I do agree that the Launch Playlists appear thin, CTF should not have just been lumped in with Team Arena, it should also have it's own dedicated playlist.
jesus guys. There is enough fucking content to last you for the first week. Yes I get what people are complaining about, these decision are probably based on the most popular things people play on Halo MP. They have stats.
It reminds me of that Halo 4 delusion. Everyone on GAF hates but when I play MCC fucking everyone votes for Halo 4 if its in the list.
The information that IGN provided when this thread was created, made it look like their were 2 SWAT playlists. The thread got updated when it was corrected.

It was part of the reasons why I loved this map. Really.
How exactly can we be sure that a bunch of those maps won't be forge/breakout/remix maps? We have such little information about the maps the game is launching with as it is.you're getting 18 more maps for free. You may disagree with their logic, but they are far and away delivering more than any other developer right now.

Well i have found my first big issue with halo 5 -_- Break out is inconsistent to the regular halo 5 battle flow. like Swat it should have its OWN PLAYLIST. There is no reason to put break out in with other regular halo 5 variants it will be ESPECIALLY damaging to new players that will wonder why their death times are so inconsistent -.-
I really cant understand why team arena simply couldn't be team objective and give breakout a slot next to swat...
People really need to calm down. It's just a game
It's also surprising to see how much support objectives get on forums you would assume it's the most played game type
I guess it's similar to how halo 3 and reach are considered good but we're shit on during its lifespan
This is true and a concern. I really doubt they will add any "breakout" maps as DLC as the forge community will supply those infinitely. Warzone isn't forgeable atm either.
MY prediction for the 18+ DLC is:
- 6-8 Big Team Battle
- 6 NEW Arena maps
- 6 Warzone Maps

Nah, these decisions are made to funnel people into certain playlist 343i wants you to play. 343i wants people to play Warzone above all, we get it. Just hurry up with BTB.
Bunch of terrible decisions for playlist management.
I'm extremely happy there's free for all day one, don't really care about other game modes, well maybe team slayer and I'll try that warzone for a round or 2.
You can run the numbers a bajillion times but there is no accounting for taste, and when this has been a complaint for the last few Halo games and it isn't fixed this kind of reaction is understandable, especially when it comes to what is ostensibly forcing people to play a new game mode they may not want to play. I don't personally have a problem with breakout, but the people who just want to play OBJ and have to deal with it have a good enough reason to complain about a new mode being given priority over a staple. You can guarantee 343 have run the numbers a bajillion times. Why is it always some Machiavellian game?

This just proves halo is a lot of different things to everyone. Tough pickle.
Tough pill to swallow for me i was a big OBJ/BTB guy but i have to wait for btb, have to try WZ
No obj playlist either
No team snipes dam
Or doubles
I think part of the reason i enjoy those modes was the change of pace from just playing slayer all the time
The cold hard reality is objective is not popular amongst the Halo player base, and it has been this way since there was matchmaking.
It doesn't matter how it's set up, what the weapon starts are, the timers or the maps. The vast majority of players simply do not like playing the mode. When we were updating playlists for Bungie the statistic was something like in mixed slayer-obj playlists, players tended to leave the playlist and never come back after getting objective twice.
This is a large reason why Team Slayer tends to have the largest or most stable population in each release.
And to be real to some folks out there: there were a lot of people that yell for pure objective playlists on Waypoint, GAF, b.net, and elsewhere, and I'd also see those same people brag about being shitty ambassadors for Objective by flag holding or otherwise griefing randoms in objective, pushing them away from the modes. There needed to be an active community effort to be good ambassadors and sportsmen for Team Objective, and all I saw is people just go "fuck you, got mine" and killgrind or mock the other team. This just served to drain the population of those playlists anymore, and I can't blame people for leaving objective and never coming back because they don't want to spend 20 minutes playing Infinite Slayer.
